I replaced a broken fitting and worn hydraulic hose on my John Deere 3039R snow blade. Now the blade angle hydraulics move fine in one direction and slower in the other direction. I noticed while plowing snow that the blade would change angle when I pushed snow if more snow was on one side, but no oil leaked from the fittings. The oil level is fine.
I thought there could be air in the lines so I exercised it a number of times to try to move the air to the oil reservoir were I assumed it would bubble out. That seemed to speed up the blade moving in the slow direction, but it is still slower than the other direction. I am not as worried about the speed of angling, but the blade being moved by the snow makes it useless.
The fitting that broke was on the John Deere 366 snow blade PT5134 pressure relief valve. To get it out I had to use a bolt extractor in the broken part of the fitting that remained in the PT5134. I didn't want the tip of the extractor to hit the valve in the pressure relieve valve so I removed the valve. I carefully replaced it with the parts in the same order.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I can try before I assume the problem is that I screwed up the PT5134 and buy a new which costs $1,200?
