Loader JD 2020 FEL WEIGHT????

help... anyone know the approx. weight of a 1968 JD 2020 FEL?? thanks


(50 yr. old manual says tractor total weight for this 2020 (without FEL) is 4,930 lbs. see pic in profile to left....

I can't make out from the picture what model loader you have, but a safe guess would be 1000 to 1500 lbs, depending on what size bucket or attachment you have installed on it. At least that is the range of newer similar sized loaders.

I think FEL is a model 143 so I'll make a wild guess @ 5700-6000#s for both.

Without knowing what loader you have it is impossible to say. Many 2020痴 in the Northeast had model 48 loaders. Some had aftermarket brands installed. Also you need to know if the tires are filled.

Well it is a Deere loader, but not the 48 that I mentioned. Maybe Txjim will come along and confirm what it is. I’d call it about 800 lbs for the loader.

Edit: it looks like it might be a 143. Here is a link to a discussion including the specs of a 143 and another link to a for sale ad with a 143 pictured.

Some more photo's would help ID the loader. Sorry RickB but IMHO you didn't win the ""chicken dinner"". Notice the differences in distances of location of cross tubes between Bodin's FEL & the 143. The single center bucket cylinder has me stumped. I know it's not a model 48 which has a similar type bucket cylinder
