What about the old tire rim trick. Get as big of a rim as you can find and drape the chain over the rim to redirect the pull upwards.

I just emailed my dealer to see if he has an old rim I cans use! Thanks!

I made this "A" frame out of 1.5 X 3/16 angle iron for pulling out some large bushes before I had my tractor/loader. It worked pretty good but it is only about 5' tall. I think taller one would do the work a little faster.

I like the metal approach but I’m not a welder. Using the big wooden posts might be more my capability though! Thanks!

I would have kept digging with the hoe. But maybe there's a goal I don't see?

Jack pines do have a pretty substantial tap root.

I went to Lowe’s and bought a few 4x4s and bolted them together with threaded rod. The middle one is cut 6” short to and capped with a metal plate to provide a channel for the chain/strap to be kept in and no worry of it slipping off. Tomorrow it will get tested. IMG_1738.JPGIMG_1739.JPG

Nice. If it ends tipping, you could add a couple outriggers
