Hello folks!
I actually joined a week ago but in my exuberance to get a major bug worked out of my Iseki, I neglected to introduce myself. First, let me say that joining this forum was one of the wisest things I've done lately! With the help of a couple of your longstanding & knowledgeable members, I am thrilled to report that my problem has been found and alleviated!!!! Thanks guys!
As to the "who am I" issue- I'm a recent retiree out of New Jersey, now residing with my charming wife in a cabin on 14 acres in the mountains of New York State's "Finger Lakes" Region. I purchased my (first) tractor at a local auction, with no concept of what I was getting into. It's an Iseki 16 horse, 3 cylinder diesel, 4 wheel drive, "Landhope" model (a very apt name).
I also bought a real nice 3pt hitch operated, 5ft finish mower, a 48" bush hog, and a cut-down electric winch operated (Winter Wolf) snow plow that I just rigged up to the front of the Iseki.
Having previously owned a small used car lot and doing most of my own auto repairs for years, I do somewhat know my way around engines and mechanicals, just never any diesels and no tractors.
I did have some difficulties at first but I soon wised up- I got a few "FORD" emblems and decals, plastered them all over the Iseki, got into the proper mind-set and- Shazam! It was all down hill from there!
So, here's hoping I don't need to pick your brains too often but it is a real comfort to know that you are out there when the need arises. And by the same token, should I read a thread that falls in my scope of knowledge, I will not hesitate to render my opinion when I feel it will help someone else. As I learned many years ago "Pay It Forward" !!!
