So my question is this... Can a John Deere 4440 pull a Killbros 500 gravity wagon? (500 bushels). A: I know it depends on if its flat ground or going up a mountain, could it handle a terrain like rolling hills, nothing crazy. Gradually slopes, but generally flat. B: Transport grain from field to grain bins. Anyone have any experience with a John Deere 4440?

Weight of 500 bushels of what? Shelled corn would weigh about 28,000 lbs, and JD 4440 weighs about 12,000 lbs.. So would need some more weight added to the tractor??
Or brakes on the gravity wagon to help stop !! Some bad accidents have been known pulling a wagon loaded and trying to stop going down hill. Can get ugly real fast, resulting in a panic one-wheel braking, sliding, jack-knifing, then rolling the tractor over in the ditch. Don't ask how I know, as it happened to a neighbor farmers wife. The one rear wheel skidding quite a ways down the road, before piling up in the ditch. She survived.

Yes a 4440 will pull a 500 bushel wagon. Like others have stated hills and stopping require some caution. We pulled 350 bushel full of corn with 5600 & 5000 Fords.

We have a 5610 Ford that weighs 13,600 empty. Yes, I weighed it. With tractor brakes I'd pull it. If you had brakes on the wagon, even better. Lock brake pedals together. Always remember, some people can mess up a soup sandwich. So you'll have to factor that in too. One person may do it all day, the next one will wipe out on the first trip.

In the past, I've pulled a fully loaded tandem axle flat rack (repurposed sileage wagon) loaded with 10 layers of small square bales with my Honda 400 Foreman quad down the road. Stopping it in less than a football field length was another issue however. You can pull about anything with anything but stopping it can be an issue.

Kind of reminds me of the Ford commercial where they use a new electric F150 to pull 2 loaded car racks. What they don't show you is the car racks slamming into the back of the 150 and destroying it because while it can pull them, it cannot stop them. Duh.

It's all in the weight. I had a neighbor pulling a 33' stock trailer jam packed with cattle, couldn't fit another one in it. He would come by in a short wheel base, regular cab, 4x4, Ford ranger, pulling that trailer in low range. We was pulling them cows and none of us even had a driver's license yet. Hauled square bales with a trailer and an old Chevy truck. Brakes wore slap out. Metal to metal. If you barely touched the pedal, front right tire locked up and skidded until we stopped, so we was always slow go with that rig.
But the 5610 does weigh that much. Filled 4 tires, belly pan, loader.
Hauled many loads of logs with a 3/4 ton regular cab. If it didn't weigh 50,000 pounds, we weren't loading enough on it. But, we quit that kind of hauling. We never got caught, but some other guys did, and we learned from them. It cost them $ 8,000.00 to go home.
