It wasn't bad, Slow & easy, I was just hoping that it was long enough to allow me some slack in the chain once I got it lifted up on the trailer to remove the chain (if it were to long loader might not lift the 900 lb tank) fortunately all worked well. I could have done some calc's to know for sure but it all looked right and besides it was just sitting in my scrap pile. I didn't want to make a bigger job out of it by building something like this. -->View attachment 568784

I built something Similar to this with 4 X 4 X 3/16 5ft. long Outer Tube Steel and 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 X 3/16 6 ft. long inner Tube Steel for my MX5800 telescopes out the 10 ft from my quick connect front end. I also added a nice Swivel Hook with a shackle that can be moved between the 4 in and the and the 3 1/2 tube or removed all together.

Works great just have to be conscientious and careful when using it.

First timer. Would you be able to send me pictures of your creation (Jib Crane) "just have to be conscientious and careful when using it" one has to always be aware when using any equipt as things can go wrong fast. Thanks Bill

You should have gone bigger on the grapple^^

Rake grapples usually have a larger top to bottom opening but not necessarily a larger capacity which factors in front to back dimensions and grapple shape.

The "dirty" picture is from this spring when I was splitting my wood. I bring the wood down from where I had cut it to length to my building. I will then split it and stack it inside the building. This my wood splitting setup, tractor, splitter on the 3 pt, wood wagon and grapple. I load the wagon with the grapple. No more hand loading the bucket. I put extra weight on the tractor/ grapple because I am coming down a slight grade that sometimes pushes me and the tractor around. As you can see is was wet at the time and the road was greasy. I would rather have the extra weight on the tractor versus the wagon. The other pictures are from about a month ago when the tractor is set up for mowing. My neighbor had some wood laying around for a couple of years that he did not want. It was an easy pick so I just put on the grapple and took it home. There was probably 1.5 cords in all. Just some grapple fun time pics. Later.
