Thanks everyone for the input! So much good information and insight.
My uses will be mainly picking up loose brush and debris, fallen or cut tree limbs, and the occasional log or two. I do have pallet forks, so moving multiple logs at once can be accomplished with that. No large rocks down here so that's not a concern. I don't know if I'll need to actually root rake enough to definitely require that style. I agree with what so many of you said that either style is better than none. I've considered the add-on grapple to my bucket or forks, but I know that I want a separate standalone grapple. I have the skid steer quick attach, so swapping attachments is no big deal. My loader only has around 1,000 lb. capacity at the bucket pins, so weight is a concern and I want to retain as much payload capacity as I can. I plan to go with a 54"-60" grapple. I believe I'm just stuck in the analysis paralysis right now, lol.
