Good morning!!!!

/ Good morning!!!! #202,481
Good Evening Paul,
Senior moment here, sorry ! I think you told me some time ago that you do own your own tank
Sort of…
We’re talking about them taking my 320 in trade on a 500. They also want to install their own tank monitor rather than use mine.
Their price for gas isn’t bad, it will come down to the details of the tank swap.

Yep, have use a bit more sand, the worst is going to be listening to wife complain it's too cold.
With the coal I tend to keep it too warm for me but it's still cold to her.
Me in a short sleeve shirt and she has on long sleeves and sweater complaining it's cold at at 74F.
I keep this shack at 76°F.

Well the lights went out at 2 today. Came back on at 6. High winds are to blame and some tree hugger didn't want his precious trees cut. So the high winds bring the trees down on the power wires and the rest of us have to pay. I've got a generator and the wood furnace has a thermostatically controlled blower. The wood furnace is lit every day from 11 A.M. until 11 P.M. The oil picks up the slack except when the power goes out. Don't get me wrong, I like trees too, but not at the expense of someone else's electricity.

Good memory, Mostly. This stuff is so tall and thick have to cut before entering, hence backing. Add to that the unevenness of the terrain, you’d be driving into the unknown, likely tractor becoming unstable. Backing, I can ease in, get some visibility. My repaired stabilizer holding up very well.
Is this the invasive and non native Guinea Grass that gets really tall. Saw some show where this was completely overwhelming a property. Talked about former sugar plantations were completely overgrown with this African import

Yes there is a Z axis.
The sequence is that it drops down to sense the height of the surface by seeing the drive motor current rise as it stalls, raises to .150”, initiates a pilot arc, then lowers to the .060” cut height. The tricky timing is in the delay from when it lowers to cut height to make the pierce until it starts the actual cut, as well as the lead in distance and angle to the cut line.
The actual cutting distance is maintained by a closed loop that monitors the cutting voltage and drives the Z axis. If the cut height increases,so does the voltage required to maintain the arc, and conversely if the voltage dips, it raises the torch. This lets it compensate for a surface that isn’t level.

I am getting a decent handle on it, changing parameters and seeing the result has been a big help. Much less frustration than trying to learn on a part that I need.
You explained ohmic sensing very well. When me and my student worker were fighting it on the torchmate, we ended up running a 2nd ground wire to clamp to the material, and that fixed it because the table's ground was intermittent. Torchmate has pierce height setting, along with matl thickness, and feed adjustments, but nothing beats practice and experience.
I have not cut anything thicker than 1/4" so far, but we have a hypertherm 125, so supposedly we can.
Question, IIRC your table is stainless, but are the slats stainless?

David, Cody was back to normal after the seizure. He has had about one a year for the last few years. Not sure what it is causing it. Two different vets have examined him and done testing
A buddy gives his 3 yo male golden vitamin B1 to keep seizures to a minimum. Says it is working great for months now.

All of the hardware is presently black, so I’ve been “directed” to make it black. Brass did cross my mind, it’s a lot easier to work with, and I don’t have to get it powder coated.
Ask for a brass kitchen pass. :)

Just woke up my lack of sleep is catching up to me. Not sure of forecast but by second week of February cold comes back. We are dry again.

Prayers for LS and wife all others silent or spoken our Country
Prayers for Bupps, Holly, Ted and Dona.

Need to act upon it.

My bad experience, still dealing with it, my FIL was a pack rat. Now his kids are dealing with a lifetime of boats and cars some not titled at all. The stress is undeniable. If he had acted upon it, the sales, he would have benefited and his kids not be tormented by the bureaucracy involved in closing out his wishes.

Good luck, hope it works out for you all.
My mom is still "kicking" and can be just as honery from her bed as normal....but her home is full of "sentimental" (to her) keepsakes that are pretty much worthless. I'm going to be dealing with that probably in the not too distant future.

Talked with lawyer today. She said if there are no liens against mom's home, she can do a ladybird claim and it will stay out of probate. (thanks Don).

Crummy weather for the next few days, cool and rainy. Then this weekend is forecast for sun and 70F. Maybe time to ride my motorcycle!

/ Good morning!!!! #202,488
The latest weather forecast/warning;
Winter weather travel advisory in effect. What:Significantly reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow.Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8") by this evening. Southwesterly wind gusts up to 70 or 80 km/h (42 to 50 mph). When:This afternoon into this evening.
I WILL be plowing tomorrow.

/ Good morning!!!! #202,489
The plowing only took 2.75 hours today. More snow and they are talking lake effect for tomorrow.

I plow at 1900 rpm and use the bucket most of the time and the back blade for a little bit on my driveway. I use 3.5 US gallons of fuel in 9 hours of plowing. I think my straight pipe theory is working.
More snow coming already. Started up your and my (cottage) way already, and will hit TO within the hour.

I like it. Brings the snowmobilers up and helps the local economy a LOT.

She is good. This type of deed is only available in five states: Florida, Texas, Michigan Vermont and West Virginia.
My mother had a Lady Bird Deed on her house. After she passed went to City Hall with it a, copy of death certificate and my ID. 15 minutes later walked out of there with deed in my name. Have Lady Bird Deed on my house and property for my sons.

having a basic "I love you" will where you give everything to your spouse or family is
enormously helpful for the executor. Dying intestate is an unnecessary burden on the family.
having the deed modified is the cherry on top when it fits your situation.
good info from both Don and Ron, not something I dealt with in financial planning practice in PA.
I had to look it up, seems like a good way to manage estate taxes

A Lady Bird Deed is an estate planning tool that allows a property owner to transfer property to a beneficiary without going through probate.

The grantor retains ownership of the property during their lifetime, so they continue to pay property taxes.

  • When the grantor dies, the property transfers to the beneficiary with a stepped-up basis. This means the beneficiary acquires the property at its current market value, not the original cost basis.
  • If the beneficiary sells the property, they may pay less in capital gains taxes. However, if the property has appreciated significantly, they may pay higher capital gains taxes.
