Astros win 7-1. They're up 3-2. Woo Hoo!

Back to Houston. Game 6 ... Tuesday 10/29 .. 7:07 p.m.

I didn’t hear anything from you when they were down 2-0! LOL.

Just pulling your chain, once the Yanks we’re out I haven’t paid much attention.

Feral hogs have bern a problem in NC since I was a kid. Here on the Delmarva not so much, there are a few but no big herds.
When I was about 17 my friend and I were treed by a momma and 4 nearly grown pigs. They wouldn’t leave and we ended up shooting 2 of them to scare them away so we could back to the truck. That was in Gates County, NC.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

We got a total of 1.51” of rain with yesterday’s rain event. A cloudy, drizzly 46ºF for today’s low temperature; a humid 48ºF presently; and I anticipate a drizzly afternoon high temperature in the mid50ºF’s, maybe higher if the sun ever shows. Sunshine looks to be a rare event this work week with clouds and intermittent rain showers possibly daily until the next weather event Thursday-Friday. Today will probably be a day to putter around and try to avoid getting wet outside. My Tundra developed a serious shake yesterday; I hope it is just an under inflated tire although the low tire pressure idiot light has not so indicated. My Tundra was not on the frame recall list.

Paul- I hope that you are on the mend.

Phil- There is a correlation between mast crops and ticks. More mast = more rodents = more ticks the following year :(

Rick- Nice cleanup job until the next time. Is there a reason why they are rutting up that particular area?

Bruce- There are feral swine in VT and NH; probable escapees from game preserves. They are considered private property of the game preserves if I understand the laws correctly. Within the NH preserve one needs permission from the preserve. The VT preserve is now closed. I do not think there have been reports of feral swine in MA (so far).

RNG- I hope that you continue to remain out of harm’s way and your generator AKA chick attractor remains operational.

I hope that everyone is having a decent Monday.

My + thoughts and prayers.

Jay....... My typical smart a.. response is ... because they can!

We installed hog fence, over our 5 strand barb wire perimeter fence, in 2006 when we bought this place. The only area the hogs can damage is between our front fence and our road.

Let’s call it shell shock! Kinda like the Nats fans are having now.

68°F and .71 inches rain.

Wife off to Hilo this morning to get Pilot serviced and safety inspection. I’ll be in tractorshed servicing the generator.

Guys lost at Hand and Foot again, but a more respectable loss.

Happy Hour in town later. Will meet friends coming in on a cruise.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I was never a Nats fan so I don’t reall have a dog in the hunt. But I suspect they will win in 6. Losing
Scherzer pretty much ended their hope.

I would have considered your typical response quite humorous. I am sure that the pigs know why they rut/grub around where they want and do. It would not surprise me if they showed up at some point in MA in my expected life time.

A humid, intermittently drizzly cloudy PM so far, and according to our local TV ProMets today will be the pick of the week. The sun is trying to make an appearance.

The bird feeders are cleaned, on their poles, and loaded.

Rick- I got interested in MA feral swine and found this:

"While wild Russian boars have invaded many states and are a growing problem, the U.S. Department of Agriculture claims there are no feral pigs in Massachusetts, yet. However, one was hit by a car in 2008 along Route 2, and three have been recorded in the state over the last decade." May 26, 2015- Several internet sources

I am not that far from RT 2 and the VT border. From what I can gather if they become a "problem invasive species" in MA they will be culled through hunting regulations similar to coyotes/coy-dogs/coy-wolves.

We were having dinner, with some citified folks, last week and they asked me if it was always the same hogs? My response? “I don’t know .... they didn’t have their name tags on!”.
