Looks like a full day with the flail ahead. Yeaaaa. 3 areas and the cane road outside the fence on the Hilo end of the property. Each section has its unique challenges, but the far piece ends with a couple hours of a 4 sided rectangle in the flattest area.

Very happy with my concrete effort. The Scag can reclaim it’s area.

Been watching the activities in UK. A shame we don’t have such a calming, uniting influence currently.

had a lot of fun showing my friend how to use his new Kubota. We reset the air in the tires, checked all the fluids. Turns out it only has 12 hours on it.
Like new. Told him to immediately buy a Dewalt cordless grease gun.

Feeling pretty good now...need to hit the dump and get some fuel for both the tractor and the ZTR... that will be tomorrow morning's activities.
I'll only get a couple gallons for each machine...if you recall when I had major maintenance on the ZTR, the mechanic found a lot of water in the fuel tank...gallons. He suggested running the tank close to empty and adding Stabil, then running it for a few minutes to protect the carb, jets, etc. Mowing season is almost over.
As far as the tractor, won't need much...and I want the tank fairly close to empty when it comes time to get winterized diesel (early to mid-October). The tank has about 2/3rds in it now and the chipping won't use more then, maybe, ½ a tank, if that

I have noticed my right leg is getting weaker... need to figure out what the best exercise is...

I went for physical therapy for my leg problems but quickly learned to do it on my own. There is a ton of videos out there that are very helpful

LX model, next size up Thomas but very similar
he's going to be pushing snow with this primarily, would spacers help?
Does have R14 hybrid tires, should help in snow

If flat ground might be okay,rear tires loaded will help.if tire chains are needed good chance wheel spacers will be must.

Most of the lawn is mowed...got 2 gallons of fuel...should have just filled the 2½ can....
I'd read on another thread the ZTR grass deflectors weren't too good, so I used a bungee to hold my ZTR deflector up. I was quite amazed at the better grass clipping dispersion...no clumping at all.
Only downside is when I mow with discharge close to a wall or fence, I get a lot more grass clippings on both the mower and me. Admittedly, I probably mowed shorter than I should have, so there were a lot of clippings.
I'll be removing the deflector and changing how I normally mow.
I also started chipping that pile from the fallen tree. This was just a quick trial, so no forestry helmet or chainsaw.
There is a lot of wood there!!! Most is 6" or less, so I can chip that. But it's a pretty tangled mess, so I'm definitely going to need the chainsaw...probably the pole saw too.
By the time I got to mowing and chipping (after the grass was dry enough), it was pretty hot. I've got a little of the lawn to finish and it's probably going to take a couple weekends to do the chipping. I don't have the strength or stamina I once had.

Solar power seems hard to justify unless you are off grid. Payout periods of 8 to 10 years does not look appealing. I have the space for it and have looked at it from time to time but considering payout period and cleaning and upkeep over time it does not work for me.
The company I worked for was into building large solar installations including some with mirrors heating boilers and generating steam for turbine generators. With the right power sales agreements this can be very successful

The formula we developed included among other things cost of capital, cost to change and cost to run it and was used to evaluate process improvements during the design phase. As I remember in most cases if we did not get a 3 year pay out that design change would not be approved
