Big backups coming home, so I detoured, then had to detour again on the detour.
Just light rain, no storm. Got .18” at home.

Found out Verizon tacked on a new $12 charge this month, with explanation of plan rate adjustment. They just raised the rate $10 2 months ago. In researching that I found my youngest sons phone was being charged $6 month for Verizon cloud, which we didn’t know it had. Only 18 months bills online show it goes back that far. An extra $108 I paid for nothing. I still get paper bills to see all the charges, but Verizon started removing details from the paper bills months ago and hide these charges. You have to go online and dig to find them.

That wasted my evening.

Now to catch up on rest of TBN.

That's some sketchy feces right there. We have Verizon, too. Sounds like we may need to do a review as well.

Any changes in job search?
Not yet. Interviewing on Thursday afternoon with company that sought me out.

Watched my boss today come to the understanding that one of his poor choices has come back to bite him. I got no pleasure watching it happen. Honestly, I almost feel bad for him.
Not bad enough to stay, though.

66 going to 87, but promises of low humidity. Nice.

Buppies, sounds you are a lucky guy, indeed. We didn't get much rain yesterday either, but it was welcome.

Don and Mostly, glad you got a good rain. Don, you were thinking it would take a hurricane...but we didn't have a single "named storm" for the whole month of August...not sure that's ever happened.

I had a nice dentist check up, and the most thorough cleaning ever...my teeth seem as clean as the first day they appeared. The new hygienist was really into it.

Took the chainsaw and tractor back in the woods for the first time in 2 months...cleaned up some more winter and spring storm damage...found some delayed limb dropping where they had broken and gotten caught. Then mowed until the storm ran me in...much more wind and spooky clouds than rain.

Thomas, sorry about your mailbox.

good morning all.
.17 rain last night, should be a nice cooler sunny day today.
I'm off to PT, need it, neck not good after three hours of mowing yesterday.

How is the port of registry determined?

Good question. Nearest "real" marine port, not necessarily where you come from.
Supposed to be where boat is berthed, in my case at Philadelphia Marine Center.
But if you move you are supposed to change the registry.

My first boat, a 33 Carver, was State registered and had New Hope on its stern. Second Camelot, the Bertram,
was federally registered, partly because I knew I was taking it offshore and
wanted to be very identifiable. Sometimes if you borrow money on boat, one big enough to truly get out of town
like the Bertram was, bank wants Federal registry so they can track you down more easily.

Wife looked especially beautiful last night I’m one lucky guy.
And I hope you told her that. (y)

Port of registry very important for boats wintering in Florida. Florida has a sales and use tax on boats.
If you use it there more than six months, you have to pay the equivalent of sales tax, huge amount. This is why so many boats snowbird,
pushing the six month limit to stay in Florida before going home North. Florida employs lots of marina watchers who track boat names; woe to anyone
who gets the equivalent of an overdue parking ticket there.

add: Federally registered or "documented" boats must be at least 27 feet long
creative names tend to show up more on state registered boats, since the Feds only allow one name per hailing port to avoid
confusion. So if you are in a big metro marina, someone got to Cruisin Away before you did. Unfortunately on the Chesapeake Bay where you have boats from
PA, Maryland and Virginia all mixed together, duplications can happen with state registry.

I have visited the first Camelot, still so named, at her berth in Georgetown, up the Sassafras River. Funny, can see the boat, fuzzy, third one in from water closest to right side
of the silver covered shed. It was white with navy blue trim. Flat bottomed boat but what I learned to drive on.

Maiden voyage created one of my most memorable photos in NYC with the Twin Towers in the background.
Bought it in Mamaroneck CT and had to get it home to Philadelphia.
And now it floats in Maryland and has for a long time. Still Camelot.
It only rained on Wednesdays in Camelot. Perfect weather for boating.

The Bertram is somewhere in the Chesapeake I believe. Guy had nice home on the water near St Michaels and he used the boat as a guest house for awhile.
