67° right now...high in the mid-80's today
Dump run in a couple hours, then a haircut this morning.
Had a limb break off a sumac tree out back a couple days ago, and another limb that needs to be removed (overhangs the chain link fence and I need to duck under when I mow), so I reckon I'll hit that with the pole saw. There's some other branches I should cut back to, and since the chipper is rigged to the Deere, may as well get 'em today.
After that, take it as it comes

Roy, is that a "poison sumac" or a regular sumac? I think one is worse than poison ivy. You might want to wear gloves. Had to look this up:
Poison sumac has clusters of white or light-green berries that sag downward on its branches,
while the red berries of harmless sumac sit upright. Also, each stem on the poison sumac plant has a cluster of leaflets
with smooth edges, while harmless sumac leaves have jagged edges

off to go food shopping this morning, have a 5 dollar off coupon burning a hole in my pocket at the more expensive supermarket, will go there for a few things and maybe use the coupon
on some fancy salad I would normally say was too expensive. It's also where I stock up on cereal; they must have 15 Kashi varieties vs 4 at the Giant. Otherwise the can of Goya black beans was 99 cents in NC, 1.29 at Giant here, and 1.49 at McCafferys. Who said supermarket margins were slim?

I read that Amazon was planning on opening a large retail store in the area, after driving most other box stores out of business. Now they want in. Interesting, though they own Whole Foods and have a business relationship with Kohls already.

I need to go get new glasses and everyone has told me Costco is the place to go. The same with hearing aids. It's a bit of a drive but sounds like it will save me a lot of money.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with some clear skies this morning. Heading to 88° with lots of sunshine. Had a great time at tractor show. It covers a very large area. Was a good thing I took the mule. Even with it I was tired at end of day. No plans for today. Will catch up on post later today. Sons car decided to clear all it's faults. Hope to get that ride/drive later today before he loads it back in trailer.
Turkeys are getting bigger every time I see them.

Good point!
The berries set upright so I guess this is the harmless type...
I always wear gloves when I'm doing this kind of work. With a chipper, one wants gloves that are fairly snug around the wrist....never the gauntlet type gloves. One doesn't want a gauntlet glove caught on a branch when feeding a chipper...

Morning all! 69 heading to 80 today.
Looks like today will be hurricane prep day. From all projected paths the eye will be going right over us. I have fuel for everything all ready. Just need to pick up outdoor stuff and dig out the generator. Will get the tractor set up for recovery work if needed.

70 high of 90 today muggies are back

no bear sightings bird feeder inside birds are mad will just have to get over it. This bear is not afraid of humans must be very careful

Have not been told when we can get third shot but will take it when available

A very wet and slightly chilly summers morning for us, high of 17C/63F. I have just put a new bag in the shop vac, time to transform the workshop into a sawdust free zone so I can do a bit of reloading.

Bird, wait till Winter comes then people will complain about masks if they wear glasses. My glasses steam up all the time. It's a pain.

Boy, isn’t that a PITA. Very frustrating.

Does anyone else wear hearing aids ? I find them the most frustrating thing about mask wearing, any adjustment and the elastic seems almost guaranteed to send them flying. After coming close to loosing one I opted to do without. Soon discovered lip reading is pretty difficult when the person talking to you is wearing a mask

63F foggy low 80's for high chance of late afternoon shower.
Fingers cross hurricane will lose it's punch before making land fall,we are in the red circle area heavy rains and winds.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Mrs. new electric range was promise this time to be deliver 3pm today.

Plans for today town for critter food,check main culvert anything may cause water to back,mow side field and do some grilling early evening.
