daugen, if you got all of your teeth out, then you wouldn't have the hassle of dentists ever again.

I have always used the bucket and back dragged, too. I had my grapple on the FEL, so put on the rake and tried it. I like it much better, except my neck is sore from looking back over my right should for so long. Both the bucket and the rake are 6', but maybe the flex of the rake allowed a bit more control, and dragging forward allowed better accuracy, at least for me. Either way will get the job done, but I'll use the rake again next time.Gravel is cheap here, Billy, but the trucking, not so much. How did it go with the landscape rake to spread the gravel? I've always back dragged with a floating bucket, not always with good results.
I’ll be back in the shop this morning, hopefully the sun and breeze will dry things out so I can mow later today, as it desperately needs it.

One word: pontoons...You do realize driving your RV to Hawaii can be a challenge?![]()

That sounds a great planA new discussion about moving took place.... with a totally new objective! We both agree to look for a property that will become our "vacation" property. Someplace that we would like to frequently like to return to. We have no clue as to 'where' ..... The plan is to travel around in the RV, find those special places, then decide. Might be on a lake, might be up higher in the mountains. We will just have to make it suitable for the RV. That way, no building, no packing up the house, no big hassles.
No idea how my wife managed to pull that one out of the raised bed - I would have needed the loader and a length of chain !Eric, How did you get that monster out of the ground?

One word: pontoons...
I figured a combination of Beverly Hillbillies and Gilligan's Island.....Ha. Hopefully your trip turns out better than the famous “3 hour cruise”!

It would require some sort of mobile anchor. Just another excuse to buy that bulldozer (then rig up a radio controlled winch for it). But it would require a bigger set of balls to pilot that tractor, someone young that thinks they're invincible (and who has signed a very comprehensive liability release).Just don't have it in me anymore to try to rodeo the tractor to do it.
Have you seen those snow groomers that have a winch and a long wire to pull them up the steep parts? I wonder if you could rig up something like that for your tractor?
Chris
Yeah, but watch out for getting the molars pulled out of your jaw...feels like your whole jaw is being pulled out of your mouthdaugen, if you got all of your teeth out, then you wouldn't have the hassle of dentists ever again.![]()

Did you get the stainless model, or one with a plastic hopper?UPS just delivered the Chapin spreader a little bit ago. It's sitting in front of the garage so I need to retrieve that and bring it inside and inspect it ... can already see that the box is ripped in a couple of spots. Will take pics before I move it. Then assemble it, if it appears undamaged.
