Good morning.

Looks like no rain today (earlier forecast had 40% chance). So, I’ll spend the morning at the front desk of a local park tennis complex. Collecting money if folks want to play or want snacks/beverages.

Yesterday was an amazingly nice day and I got all the mowing done. Very pleasant.

Tomorrow we leave for Little Rock and a Mother’s Day trip. My wife is from Little Rock.

Have a good and safe day all.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 4:15AM. A good deal of sunshine. High 88F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Do you reel them in when using a flyrod, Bruce, or just hand pull the line in? Hope they keep biting for you...

Gravel is cheap here, Billy, but the trucking, not so much. How did it go with the landscape rake to spread the gravel? I've always back dragged with a floating bucket, not always with good results.

Good luck at the dentist, Drew. At least your visit will be air conditioned.

Kicked a couple of jack rabbits out of the tall grass with the tractor yesterday, Ron. They're very shy, and very fast.

I can see the headlines now, David: "Hawaiian man arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a lizard." 😄 Careful, though, before you know it, that gecko will be arm wrestling you for your beer!

Seems like the lower meadow gets a little steeper every year. And between that and all the gravel under the solar panels, I mow less of it every year. This year, though, I'm thinking I'll need to get the string trimmer out to get to the 100' of defensible space for wildfire safety. Just don't have it in me anymore to try to rodeo the tractor to do it. Hopefully will be able to finish mowing today, but have some rocks to move and manzanita to take out first. Grass was drier, and more slippery, than I've ever seen it. I figure we're almost a month ahead of the usual time when the "golden" state earns its name.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!👍🏁

I have always used the bucket and back dragged, too. I had my grapple on the FEL, so put on the rake and tried it. I like it much better, except my neck is sore from looking back over my right should for so long. Both the bucket and the rake are 6', but maybe the flex of the rake allowed a bit more control, and dragging forward allowed better accuracy, at least for me. Either way will get the job done, but I'll use the rake again next time.

Good morning.
47 heading to 60 clear and breezy.
Got a bit more than a half inch of rain yesterday.

Spent all day in the shop yesterday, a good portion of it was at the computer revising speaker drawings due to suppliers changing their product.

I’ll be back in the shop this morning, hopefully the sun and breeze will dry things out so I can mow later today, as it desperately needs it.

Mornin all, 44 going up to 65, hard to believe is got to 87 last week. Sunny today for a bit.
Maybe get to some more trimming and weed wacking today after work.

Happy belated birthday to Mrs. RS

Mostly - haven't been fishing in a while. never did get the hang of fly fishing, but a good way to accompany beers

RNG - nice video- though all the scenery must be distracting while mowing :)

Stay safe and be well

I wish you mowing success.

I really love Spring - especially after a cold winter - but one thing I dread is the constant fight against wet grass and not being able to mow on a fixed schedule.

I use the rake to finish my clam shells after I rough it in with the Dirt Dog land plane.

Good morning to all! Low was 45, going up to 75. Highs this weekend will be around 80. Hopefully some showers will make their way over us.

Drew, at least you now have some game plan for recovery. Little bites... slow and sure....

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to Mrs RS!🥳

Ron, I am so glad you are back.... I really missed your morning pics. The place is looking great!

David, I figured that if we started floating the RV in your direction next month, we would arrive just as you're finishing the caretaker quarters and the greenhouse......😁 See how that will work?

Successful day modifying the side link cylinder. I got it all cut, welded, and painted. Making the clevis end was the hardest. It will get installed today now that the paint had a chance to dry overnight. Then some yard work will be in order. We have a dead tree to pull out, and some trimming of others. Won't be too much. We may go up to Santa Fe to a nursery to get a Chitalpa tree.... If not, then some puttering is in order

Everyone have a great day!
