Need to pour first cup of coffee. 42° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 58° with a chance of sun in PM. Dr appointment went well.No extra care needed. House is a little neater. Cut lawn and maybe get drone out and take some pictures of some spring green colors.

Mostly, band saw needs to have blade guides adjust so it cuts straight. Then ready to use. Came with 6 new blades. They were worth 1/2 what I paid for saw. Bird is a wet Baltimore Oriole.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

good morning all. Much cooler weather today with rain coming in all afternoon.
Proverbial Spring showers. 51 out now going up to 69 later.

another night of pain pills and ice packs. Hope to have a good talk with doc this morning about how long this is going to take.

Spent several hours on Zoom meeting last night with hundreds of other members of my church in the Philadelphia area, all about getting
our places of worship open again. I left the meeting depressed, so many want to talk things to death and not be solution oriented. They are just now starting
to prepare a guidance document for all the Meetings, only about 5 months late. Some Meetings already have them written internally, but the "home office" folks want to
start from scratch and started asking "what should be in this document"?. For a super inclusive church, we are having a very hard time dealing with requiring vaccination for inside service, even
temporarily. Until the Covid count drops appreciably more, I'm all for excluding non vaccinated folks and let them meet, as we now do, outside for an outside Meeting. or Zoom. Take your pick.
Logic surely does not prevail in these emotional meetings. Lots of new terms, hybrid service, blended service, real problem is our basic congregation is fairly old and somewhat resistant
to technology. Some folks do not want to sit in my 1780 Meetinghouse and look at a big tv screen... Personally I think we have to change with the times and find new solutions.

NJ "reopens" May 19, Delaware May 21 and PA May 31. Apparently a big push to be open by Memorial Day.

66 and about to rain again. Should see 81 and maybe more storms.

Ron, glad your Dr. appointment went well. I called to make an appointment Monday and got a recording that said "effective May 3rd our office is closed...if you'd like to contact Dr X, call xxx-xxxx at St Mary's Hospital, if Dr Y, call yyy-yyyy at the ZZZ Primary Care office." I haven't been to this Dr. office in a good while, and it looks like the one I saw retired, and the other left for another practice. Nice surprise.

Finished mulching around my wife's expanded flower bed...she really think it looks good, so I'm happy and I like it...easier to mow around without clipping a flower  . Then I spent so much time 'chinging my Zero that I didn't finish mowing before the well-predicted storm hit. I should keep a better eye on the clock.

They've opened up the vaccine clinic here to anyone 18+ walking in, and promise you'll be in and out in under an hour. Now one of the vaccines is ready for children down to 12 yo.

64 and humid this morning with thunderstorms this afternoon. I’m hoping to finally mow the grass after two false starts.

I’m still not sleeping well, first few hours are fine, then it’s toss, turn and sinus issues.

I found out last night that 11 people in a room that hadn’t met in person in over a year, have way too much to say! Just finish the meeting and socialize later!

Buppies, drew, LS and all others, get better soon.

Dr's are moving and retiring here also. I changed primary care Dr in early 2019. Yesterday I saw a local posting of someone looking for a new PC Dr. The replies were giving very high ratings to my Dr. I wonder if I will be able to get an appointment with him in the future.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 4:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High around 95F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Red Flag is down, and it looks like humidity will stay above 30% until noon today. That means I should be able to get a few hours of mowing in. Tomorrow will be a little cooler, so more of the same.

That's a tough call on reopening, Drew. Nobody should be forced to take something they don't want, but at the same time they need to be ready to accept the consequences, even if it means exclusion from group activities and continuation of masking/sanitizing/social distancing. Unfortunately, that means the vaccinated folks will also need to continue with those practices, since apparently they can still be asymptomatic carriers. Hope the doctor has some good news for you today.

Pretty dramatic sunrise, Ron. How are you liking the new-to-you drone?

Got the rebar cut up yesterday, and found an old barrel blank I can drill out and use as a post pounder.

Before that, I spent some time with an application called WiFi Explorer, looking for interference and overlap between the 4 access points that are installed here. The Help document for the application provided some useful guidance, so it's a learn-by-doing kind of deal.

Finished sweeping, then worked on cleaning off the work table I'll be using for the van interior work. That involved finding places to put things away, making paper knots for starting the wood stove from packing materials, and installing a couple of sensors on the garage doors. More of the same this afternoon after mowing is done for the day.

Hump Day again, already!

Good morning, low temp 42,high 46°F. Wind NNW 9 mph. 40% chance of rain or drizzle. Raining now.

daugen; "

You could ask them if they use a banking machine. If they do then they are already using newer technology.
In 1996 (when i bought my first computer) I had decided that if I didn't get with the times that I would go the way of the Model A Ford.

DIL got up this morning woofing her cookies. Probably took too much hydromorphone. That stuff is supposed to be more powerful than morphine without the stomach upset that morphine gives you.
She is definitely living on borrowed time.

I don't know for sure what I will get into today, but I will try to stay dry.

Have a safe day all

Morning. Sunny and 45 now. The high will be in the 60’s. More rain for Thursday and we leave for a brief Mother’s Day trip on Friday.

So - today I need to get some mowing done. I will wait until around noon to let it dry as much as possible. But, even if a little wet I need to get it done. Maybe 3 hours worth.

It’s been 5 days since I sent in my Medicare application. No word yet from Uncle Sam. (I know - I am too impatient!).

Kitty is on my lap getting his cheeks rubbed. I just fed him and gave him new water. He won’t drink old water. He needs to see it coming from the tap.

Dogs will drink 4 day old rain from a sidewalk crack but this cat needs fresh tap water every drink. Shake my head! Good thing he is cute.

Have a great and safe day.

Good morning, the wind has calmed down nicely, shower clouds passing by slow enough to be able anticipate when to go out for ten minutes without getting too wet.
When deciding what seed to buy for vegetables, my wife goes for best flavour instead of size. She was surprised how large the last few parsnips have grown.

On the subject of moving, I never thought in my younger years that I would ever leave Yorkshire, the county I grew up in and where I lived until 2012. I had no desire to leave, it was just that after years of trying, the realisation that I was running out of time to find the right piece of land to buy. Very few came up for sale and someone with deeper pockets always offered more than I could afford.

One of the best decisions of my life was to be prepared to search wider and eventually move to a different part of the country. Moving away from the place you have lived a long time is a risk, I was lucky that it all worked out. Sometimes you just have to try things without knowing all the answers to how life will unfold.

Don, if you do move again, will you still be looking for the same sort of community living ?
