66°F and ,34 inches rain.

Continuation from yesterday got the primary feed from pump routed to windowed side of container. Will extend that run and stub branches as required.

Stimulus money in account yesterday.

Talking heads on the news attempting to justify the state’s low vaccination results. Tidbit in LT Governor’s speech confirming 1b is 75 yo, 65 yo are 1c.

Taking my lovely bride for lobster dinner to night.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

was looking awfully quiet in Kubota dealer this morning.
No less than four sales guys behind desks in a very empty place.
Lots of equipment, which was nice, Toro and Ariens snowblowers.
I wanted the EFI 24 inch model, 369cc lots of power in a small frame,
kind of like a muscle car...

It got a little embarrassing for the clearly new sales guy. First he didn't know that if you
hold down on the auger control and then engaged the movement clutch, the auger clutch was ganged and the blower
ran until movement stopped. I showed him how it worked, even not running when you hold the right one down, then the left, you can let
go of the right and technically have one handed drive. I asked him how the assisted steering worked and he was unclear on that other than it was easier
out on the snow vs the showroom floor. Ok, and I'm thinking that didn't answer my question at all. Finally I asked him how
many zerks were on the machine, thinking one or two.
Zerk?
Oh dear.
Um, grease fittings.
Oh, I don't think any actually.
So I reach down at what looked like a main fitting on the rear axle and sure
enough green grease comes off on my finger.
Clearly I will need to read the manual...

Everyone charges the same for this snowblower and this place will assemble it, deliver it and pick it up if need be.
Plus I've dealt with the Kubota dealer for almost 20 years and one of the guys in parts welcomed me back by name, after 7 years.
That's pretty impressive...

It will likely never ever snow again.

fed the birds, capsicum seems to be helping. Deer haven't come back nor the squirrels. I'm sure they will.
sorry for terrible picture

Looks like my old snow king, with a bigger engine.
Just serviced mine in October, Zerks on the shafts. Don;t remember too many others.
Don;t forget a spare shear bolt, probably comes with one though.

Mine is from mid 90's and replaced chute cable, belts, Carb (easy and cheap). but has never broken the bolt yet. tough machines.

Now I guess we won;t get snow since you're prepared :)

BEF, I believe even if you don't work after 62, you SS still increases until you begin to take it.

Had a nice trip to Virginia Beach yesterday to visit my mom. Was a make-up trip from Christmas week when she was a little weak from skin cancer radiation. She was sure peppy yesterday. I took her a new laptop and got it set up...she likes to use facebook to keep up with family and friends, and the small screen on her iphone that I gave her makes her squint after looking at so many pix. Sometimes she knows more about what my kids are up to than we do...since she sees it on their facebook before we talk with them, and we don't use it here. BEF, I needed you yesterday since she was giving me very old family documents and photos and books...amazing how much family history and knowledge she has that may be lost. I'll start taking a deeper dive into it today.

It’s good she will use a computer. My Sister did FaceTime to her son in ID, so Dad could talk to him. I asked him if he thought he could do that on his own, he didn’t think so. I’m still tempted to set him up with internet and get him a tablet.

Record your mom, take pictures of the pictures she shows you. Get as much of that knowledge as you can record.

Good morning, this Scandinavian weather has now brought a second day without rain or snow, the sun is shining brightly and that low in the sky that it needs a good deal of squinting when facing south.

A delivery van pulled up outside this morning, which was strange as neither of us had ordered anything. The driver left a parcel and inside was an even stranger metal box. At first glance it looked typical of the fire control panels I have worked on for many years. On closer inspection though the text beside the indicators and push buttons was not at all standard and inside, instead of circuit boards, it contained whisky and a very nice note from the people I used to work with.

Popgadget, you certainly get to work/play with a wide variety of stuff ! If your son doesn't mind revealing details of his gun project, I am intrigued to learn what you were pressing onto his barrel.

let us know how that sheep control panel works.

Good morning! 31 now and still cloudy. May get to 35 with some flurries later.

Got asked to be on a work conference call today. Seems they have an issue that has everyone stumped, so they want some input on which way to go. Needed to look up some info..,my password expired, so had to sort that out. Good to go now. My boss is going to list today as a work day to cut down sick leave burn. Still have 200 hours of grandfathered sick leave in the bank.

Got some surplus reloading stuff to put on fleaBay today. Reloading equipment is getting all kinds of activity. Time to clear out the surplus. Got some bike stuff to list too. One of the things I decided to do while laying in the hospital was to get rid of stuff!

Everyone stay safe out there

When I was off on disability, HR told me if I work any, including remote, I lose my disability. I would not join that call.

I'm going to assume this snowblower has an air filter, but it might not. Lot of "snow engines" for snowblowers were built without them for
I'm sure good reasons and not just saving 5 bucks. I'm guessing to prevent snow/ice blockage.

The Kubota dealer sells grease guns, Kubota branded one right out there on the table. And I actually need one. Once I pointed out the unit really did have a grease fitting, a
natural comeback for an add on sale would be to ask if I had a nice greasegun at home and maybe even a cordless. (sold with farm was marvelous Dewalt cordless grease gun).
I think after the third blooper in a row, that salesman just wanted me to leave so he could hide some place. And I was being very friendly and polite with him.
He was so very proud he knew where the location was for the on off switch for the heated handgrips. Man he had handgrips covered...
At that point I'm basically figuring out how to get out of there faster as I wasn't going to learn much from this guy. And I didn't want to continue to embarrass him by asking questions
he clearly wasn't going to be able to answer.

Next time I stop in there I'll take the parts/service dept some Entemann donuts which I've done many times before.
Donuts are truly the grease of commerce.
Snowblower being delivered on Thursday.

I am not on disability. Our company has a sick leave program that accumulates over time. Less you use, the more you have. Plus, I have a grandfathered hours from a previous owner of the company.

As of yesterday, I had exhausted the current hours. I will start on the grandfathered hours now. If I exhaust those hours, then I will need to go on short term disability. They are talking to my doctor about a limited work from home schedule where I will work a few days a week, sick leave a few days a week.

I was pretty busy yesterday with doctor visit, Lowe’s, grocery store. Feeling it today.
