Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday, Drew, and maybe have a few less things on your mind as a result? I have the same phone as you, and even though I keep the OS updated, notice the same behavior. I tell people the only reason I have a phone is so I can talk to people when I want to, so leave a message and I'll call you back. That's what the fancy answering services are for. I do have it set up, using Google Voice, so I get a transcription of their message emailed to me. That way I don't have to keep calling in to check for new voicemails. A lot of precincts are offering vote by mail for the first time this year, trying to keep the spread of CV19 down from in person voting. The big concern seems to be voter fraud. I've been voting by mail for a long time, and in the beginning had to submit a signature that is kept on file and supposedly is used to check any ballot I submit. I wonder if it's the same everywhere. I didn't find your Columbus post offensive; I was born in Columbus, Ohio, and I read recently that the city fathers are getting pressure to change the name. Now that I find offensive. If you're blaming your troubles on something that happened over 200 years ago, you should instead be looking in the mirror for a solution.:2cents:
I don't think the Sahara dust will make it this far west, but it does sound like the coverage it's getting is more weather sensationalizing. More "if it bleeds, it leads"; there are enough things going on in the world that need our attention more than a dust cloud.
Sorry to hear Coco's bad news, Billy. Hopefully there's still something the vet can do to help her?
The installation manual for the A/C I got yesterday mentions a hard starter kit, Kyle, so I'm going to make some calls today and see if I can get one. Only problem is the furnace is 13 years old. The capacitor I'm replacing today is on the compressor, and it's actually two capacitors. The big one, at 60 uF, is for the compressor, and a smaller one for the fan on the compressor. I looked up the one on the blower in the attic, and it's only 10 uF. But I think the hard start kit is the real solution and am not expecting much help from the new cap. I'd love to have a garden full of fresh greens and tomatoes, but judging by all the complaining the neighbors do, the deer would eat everything down to the dirt before I got a chance at it. So it's canned tomato puree and paste for my sauce, but everything else is fresh going into it. And it cooks at least 8 hours, and half of it is home made meatballs.:licking: It's based on my mom's recipe, one she got from the Italian lady that lived next door while I was growing up. These days, I use a LOT more garlic, less oregano, and salt substitute, but the whole house still smells wonderful while it's cooking.

Never got to the spraying yesterday, never dropped below 80F, either, and I wasn't in any hurry to go out in it. Did some shopping online, and stumbled across one of
these, and ordered it. The guy I bought my mill from had one, and it made the move a lot easier. I tried to find one to buy at the time but couldn't, so I tried to make one, but the bar I had was too short and I didn't put the axle for the wheel in the right spot. Now I'll be prepared for "the next time".
Not much new in town yesterday, but I did drop by a surplus store looking for used steel office cabinets. They had a monster 4' wide industrial cabinet I'd love to have, but right now I don't have the room for it. Always love cruising the isles in places like that; never know what you'll find.
While I was over there, I swung by the steel yard to pick up material for the auger down force attachment. Struck gold with a pair of triangular shaped drops from one of their automated plasma cutting operations. They were the right size and had generous radii at each corner; I couldn't have found better pieces if I'd have paid to have them cut that way. My lucky streak stretched all the way to Costco where a bottle of single barrel Four Roses jumped into my cart. Should have bought a lottery ticket, too, but I only just now thought of that.:laughing:
Several emails back and forth on how the controller for the solar power system is programmed yesterday. Not sure the owner of the company quite understands my priorities yet, but he's getting there. Doesn't seem too inclined to provide any guidance to help me understand how he's making the changes, though, and that's a little disturbing. Some folks aren't good teachers, and most likely he doesn't have the time, anyway. I'll get that cap replaced this morning, but I think the rest of the day will be spent inside, poking around with the diagnostic software and user forums to see if I can figure it out for myself.
