went online and got my absentee ballot request form. Never done this before, easy process, they don't even ask why you are requesting it though they are pretty detailed if you are getting help completing it, like in a place where I am now. No, I can do this myself... Not sure where I'll be this Fall, so figure I'd better do this now while I have a legal address locally. Need to go bum a mailing envelope from business mgr here, since I brought her chocolate donuts yesterday, think that will be easy...
Asked for ballot to be sent by email so no matter where I am will get it.
I consider voting super important, though usually only vote in national elections since hard to find out info on locals. Was spoiled in PA where League of Women Voters used to complete a great educational pamphlet on the candidates, even the ones running for local elections, showed education, job history, nothing like that here. I would study that carefully, circle my choices, and take pamphlet in to voting booth.
Have always tried avoiding just pulling the party lever, if I don't know who I'm voting for, usually abstain.
My mother once ran for office, she had her arm bent, local lady attorney was an attractive choice. She lost badly but a great memory came out of it.
Big party at our farm, governor of PA came in by helicopter and landed in our front field, now that was cool. But the funniest part was our family dog got into the kitchen where there were two big pans of baked chicken made for the crowd up on counter, smell must have been irresistible, and 100 pound dog dumped them both on the floor and chowed down. What a cleanup that was, surprised dog didn't get hurt by chicken bones. No one seemed to be the wiser and party went on.
No kibbles for dog that night, bad dog...of course to him, this was just a Las Vegas buffet made just for him.
