As for batteries, took 2 half hour breaks and put batteries back in charger those times. Didn’t get a full recharge, but held up quite well.

Yes, I do have pt help. Canada Dave is here and a big help, especially yesterday. Only in late 50’s much stronger than I am. I purposely timed this project for when he is here (Jan - Mar) as he will be a prime benefactor of the carport, being able to park a car under while not here. This is same Canada Dave who has helped other projects thru the years, upper deck at cottage, the new solar panels, tractorshed work. He is here on vacation but his wife says he soon gets bored and likes being productive. I try to help.

When it comes time for actual erection my cottage tenant John will also assist and of course my tractor. They will benefit also, parking, increased water catchment, no rent increase.
Almost miss the old days when I could do a full 8 hours plus - NOT.

RNG have you considered galvanized fence post for the solar project?

I hadn't, but when I consulted with the engineer that designed the supports, he came back with ASTM F1083, Regular Grade, which is galvanized fence tubing with a yield strength of 30 ksi. Wish he would have said that in the beginning, rather than just assume a yield strength and specify "3" schedule 40 pipe".:confused3::pullinghair:

Most people would have taken the 20 ksi stuff the steel supplier wanted to supply in the beginning, but I can see the building department pitching a hissy fit over that.

When I gave the new spec to the steel supplier, I was told it was in stock and I could pick it up today...:mur::cool2:

And the FedEx driver called a few minute ago and said he's on his way with the generator.

When it rains, it pours!

Irv and I were going to get together last year. But other things happened. I have his phone number. Will try to call today.

No need to send out a search party for Irv. He is doing good. Just staying away from social media for a while. Going to have coffee with him next week.

A mixed level and cloud formation mostly cloudy 31コF for today's low. It got to 34コF today thanks to some sunshine this PM.

This is an interesting approaching complex storm system(s) tonight into the weekend. Posting "interesting" does not mean that I'll be enjoying the weather. It will probably start and finish as snow with a mix of rain and slop in between. I might see 4" total accumulation. This plot is actually an improvement regarding the icing potentials. Now it seems that I'll be driving Wifey through only one icing event.

I am appreciating all the pictures and videos posted.

It reads like the frequent posters are having + posts of improvements in health and ongoing projects.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Just finished chewing out an ECU nurse for taking 9 days to call with results of tests that they got the same day.
I reallllllly hope I get a questionnaire on that experience. The standards are falling due to cost cutting. No consideration of emotional needs
of patient waiting for results for more than a week. Thankfully the results were fine.

Sitting here with pretty sore neck from more than five hours driving. Easy fix on awning, nogo on lights. No access to wiring in rear as they built the oem light into a box, lot of labor at 150 dollars an hour. I promptly said no. Rained on and off. More rain coming.
$2.81 road diesel, 13.4mpg.

RNG, be careful on those slopes, quite an incline there.
PJ: have a ball with your new gizmo, real black box tech
David/Sodamo, pace yourself and don't throw your back out. Whatever you do I'm sure it will nice.

With that said, local solar farm just pounded pipe in the ground, no concrete at all as far as I know. Thousands of panels.

RNG, That's how they did it on the family farm. However, they did a number of test borings first to determine the geology of the soil and sub-soil. Glad your genny is nearly delivered.

Your son has a very good presentation style on the vid.

He basically does it for fun, really enjoys trying to “ ham it up”. Once the garage is built, his videos will be more about his passion... working on his Jeep.

Hey folks, had a cardiologist appointment early, BP has been acting goofy. Switching back to old regimen of drugs.

Day started at 54°, dropped to 40° now. Light rain off and on all day, heavy stuff the next couple of days. Like Buppies, a lot of rain and above normal temps. Moved some old shingles and buried them, then cleaned up the Monte Carlo yesterday, didn’t get a lot done today.

Ellen’s dad and sister both sick with different ailments. But both seem to be under control.

My son and daughter in law got back Sunday from a whirlwind trip to SE OK to pick up the Patriot camper they bought. Took about three weeks to get to the dealer from Australia. Pretty nice from what I can tell.

Couple inches of new snow this morning, 30F up to 33F this afternoon..

Colonoscopy went fine, drinking the 4 liters of awful tasting solution and staying close to bathroom not fun.

Deadline for applying for or changing mind on voluntary career transition (early retirement) deadline has passed now.. I applied and verified the system showed it last week. Still working on the many things we need to get done before the exit date and then pay attention to after exit date.. (expecting I will be approved).

Lots going on with TBN folks like always.. good to read about all the projects.

Stay safe, prayers for all

Good evening all. 31F for the start, .15 inch in the rain gauge, windy and rain. On/off rain all day until 5PM when it changed to snow, windy all day and high temp was 33F, low temp is current 29F. Conservation of energy and stock the insert day. took a pic for Eric, this may be only snow this year.
Ron hope you get tax file issue worked out, would be nice if they tell you in plain English what is wrong. :confused3: Nice bird pics
Billy hope you don't lose "bridge"
Don sounds like a great club, where are extender pics? new batteries can get expensive.
Roy, enjoy your seat time.
RNG hope get all solar issues worked out, nice sunset. never could cut much with rear blade, would use plow to break up then blade to smooth.
Ted nice nap, no nap for me today. Am enjoying watching the garage videos.
David nice way of helping bored friends :D
RNG good to hear generator will find it's home.
Ron wasn't Irv taking a break from Social Media during his last absence? Enjoy your meeting with him and tell him the crew says hi.
Drew, glad awning repair went OK, know you are disappointed with no new lights.
Buppies hope you get winter repairs done soon with the early spring.
Rand cool trailer, nice pics show it well.
Hawkeye hope you get the early transition, has company said when they would start letting people know?
prayers for all.

Good morning to all! Low was a chilly 2 degrees at 6am, 12 degrees now at 8, only a high of 30 today. I guess the snow is not going away today!

At least there is no wind! Yippee! I stayed inside yesterday except for getting a bag of pellets for the stove. I was watching a forensic who dun it show on tv and that lulled me into a 1 1/2 hour nap. That sure felt good afterwards. I do not know what is causing this sleep disorder, last night again was only for an hour at a time, waking up with restlessness and tossing/ turning. I fall asleep no problem.... just will not stay asleep. I even took an OTC sleep aid .... did not help... ???

Drew, hope you have a great day getting the RV fixed and the lights sound like a great addition to the back end!

Roy, hope the battery was the only fix required. Finding those parasitic drains can be a real bugger ( I used that phrase for Eric):D

Thomas, how much snow are you expecting? Stay dry, warm and comfortable...

Wng, you too .... try to stay dry.... that is a lot of rain!

Buppies, hope you get the cleanup done quickly.

Ron, nice bird pics. I feel awful, for the last few years we always fed the birds during the winter. This year I did not get the feeders setup at the new house.

RNG, hope FedEx can get their act together.... we could start a pool guessing where it is going next? i can not believe that the steel supplier wanted you to pay for their mess up! I was reading your post to the wifey.... she said that is why we will never live in California! Seems like everything turns into a hassle in one way or another! Nice sunset picture!

David, good progress! Is your wrist sore? That was a lot of screws set! Waiting patiently for the next steps....

My son posted the next video of the garage build... the start of the framing. Here is a link... there are a couple of funny clips... he did good..

E12 - Amateur Framer Drops Hammer on Face - YouTube

Everyone have a great day!

Nice video. Reminds me of my sons,,were too busy playing video games when I tried to show them things, then they finally get around to wanting to know.
