Do you clean out a tar truck tank? I thought you just apply heat to get it moving again. I know when I worked for the county road dept they had one. Wasn’t used much as they couldn’t afford paved roads. Used it for sealing some roads. I’ve driven a dump truck backwards on a spreader a few times.

DABSGT- For once I assumed correctly  And again I thank all of you for your military/First Responder services.

I was not a first responder, but at times assisted them in responding to/with community head cases and/or helping FR's get "less than cooperative individuals" "admitted and secured" in the hospital. I dealt with a variety of unique individuals coming through the entrance; sometimes wrestling/restraining my own returning patients. One time it was one of my (favorite) female patients successfully wrestling 4 PO's and 2 hospital security staff when I jumped into the fray. She looked up, cleared, and asked"Jay what are you doing here?" I responded "protecting the officers from you. Welcome back!!" She calmed and was pleasant as she could be with the officers and cooperated with admission. She was assigned to me for the last 8 of her 13 admissions (a really sad story:(). I would not consider a "beeper emergencies" emanating from a secure/managed setting a first response rather an active assessment for potential dangerousness and/or try to figure out what was driving the behaviors. One thing I do miss is the excitement of the moment going into the unknown situation.

Now I get my jollies interacting with a bunch of unique individuals here.:cool:

Don’t know that we are less challenging, but definitely less physical.

BEF, isn't backing a dump truck hooked to a chip spreader a treat? I did that for my first season where I work.

Randy- I hope you have a great time with your family today.

David- This thread is pretty interesting even without the psychotic stuff.;)

Bill- I would not be surprised to see road sanders running in reverse on their own sand sometime during Sunday - Tuesday around here.

It's going to be a real weather mess shaping up for NE with this evolving system(s).

Wish I had kept a note book over the years would have made for a great book "Names Changed to protect the Challenged". Bet it would be a real hoot swapping head case stories with you.
