"... Bet it would be a real hoot swapping head case stories with you."- DABSGT. It would be fun.:D No one would believe the stories. EMT's/P0's usually are the first to deal with community mental health issues nowadays.

I am a natural storyteller. I have been strongly encouraged to write a book about what I experienced and other change some names/dates/places I really would not have to make anything up. No one can/could make this craziness up.;)

The problem is that I saw too much pain, hurt, and suffering. :( Trying to balance the mix of funny with the good, bad, and ugly challenges me so far.

Good morning, a mild 9C/48F here, not much firewood needed today.

Nice toy Bups !

Yes, that's him. He reckoned the worst tasting were bluebottles and moles. That's a real shame as moles have just exceeded my live-and-let-live threshold, this morning I counted 421 mole hills in this little 5 acre field.

 Kyle, we need to do something to keep BEF off the speed, there must be a better way to forget his 2019 troubles than resorting to amphetamines

Oh my! Glad we don't have moles here. Must be a real PITA.

BEF is correct just reheat add diesel to pump at end of each use. Heating temperature is 150 degrees heated by diesel. This one is replacing our older one 1992 model still works well but it is a gas motor so kinda slow

Thanks, Buppies. Like learning stuff. 🤙

I know after a day of shoveling asphalt the shovel gets really heavy from all the tar build up. To clean them, we would soak them with diesel fluid and light it up. After it softened knock it on the ground and bang the crud off.

Just had another Christmas dinner that couldn’t be beat. Turkey, ham mashed potatoes dressing gravy coleslaw green beans and more. Cherry pie later.

Visited one of wife’s many cousins this afternoon. They have 18,000 laying chickens. I think he said the eggs will get hatched to produce the chicks that others will raise for food. They pick up the eggs twice a week. We did not go look at the chicken houses.

Cold is worse today, need to rest. Not sure I’m up to watching the football game.

Pretty productive day. Concrete deformed OK, no major mishaps. Not George perfect but acceptable.

Took even longer power washing everything to be ready for it’s next lifetime experience. Of course, the on site pw crapped out and had to be replaced by the unit from the house. Hopefully it’s fixable, but at 7 or 8 years old guess I shouldn’t complain for a $200 unit. And if I replace it, do I get another electric or splurge for for a powerhouse gas unit? This one replaced my Porter Cable gas unit.

Still need to rearrange a lot of dirt. By hand of course, rake and shovel, so harder to get motivated.

Still time to relax before going to social hour. Interesting folk. Mother and daughter, actually from same town my wife graduated HS. Daughter went to school with wife’s younger brother that lives here. Mom, moved to HI a few years ago and is English. Both Dads (deceased) had careers as military/civilians at Ft Dix/ McGuire AFB complex in NJ.

Wife made her banana rum cake to take. House smells awesome.

BEF- For a speed freak you eat really well and often  I am happy that you can enjoy a good meal and good company. Your meal reads great eats.

This time of year is hard for calorie counting :(

David- I really love the smell of rum (except during the native processing). Rum and banana are a natural match in almost any manner. ;) I hope your social hour goes as well. It does read to be.

Really nice weather ahead for a lot of us with this pending evolving weather system(s). Just from the Hazards and Warnings this storm is huge. It needs a hemispheric satellite pic to cover it in its entirety.:cool:

Wifey has an Dr's appointment Monday PM which just about guarantees a major icing event.

Didn’t mention homemade potato soup for lunch. Last night was coconut pie and chocolate pie.

Jay
Wife found a recipe somewhere that is a Meyer Dark rum glaze. Quite fragrant as well as tasty. Very popular with our assortment of friends. Given we grow our own bananas (apple bananas) she makes often. One thing about home grown bananas, they seem to like to ripen at same time.
I also found by accident this glaze is an excellent addition to baked ham. Getting lazier as I age, we get the spiral cut hams.

Good morning,
the temp here is 20°F and going to a high of 30. Wind SE 3 mph. Periods of snow mixed with freezing rain.
I just checked out NEXRAD, it is a biggie!
I tried to copy and paste the picture but as usual nope, so here is the link.
WPC Sea-level Pressures and Fronts through Day 7

I've been waiting for this. I could do without the freezing rain, though.

I think later today I will run another circuit off the gen set, but don't hold your breath.

Have a safe day all

48 going to 55 and rain.

Yesterday the forecast was rain starts at 1pm, so I had planned a few things outside this morning, mostly firewood related. Now the forecast says 7am, so need to prioritize and start in the dark. Even though we haven't had rain in 11 days, the ground is still damp from all the heavy frosts and foggy mornings. Will be nice to have a rainy day excuse to rest.

Drove to Virginia Beach yesterday to visit my mom. Interstate traffic was fairly light for a change. I think we actually were speeding as we drove through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. We had a great seafood lunch that served yams and squash, so had to try them with my oysters. Very good combo, and a nice change to the frequent fries and slaw.

I worked on that bridge tunnel around 1970-71, I built forms for the Willoughby Spit bridge on the south end.

Temperature stayed at 55 to 60 yesterday, cloudy, light rain sprinkles most of the day, then a brief downpour. I got about .55" of rain. Today, looks like it's going to be dry and about 10 degrees cooler. I got the new TurboTax installed on my computer; now just waiting to get everything I need to do an income tax return.

drinking first cup of coffee. 41° with rain this morning. Heading to 52° with more rain. Did not feel good yesterday. I thinks it's the Flomax Dr prescribed for. Upset stomach, dizziness and headache. Looks like another med that is on my do not prescribe list. Did get 15 minutes on exercise bike. 5 minutes at a time. Mostly, I would like to get 15 minutes one time everyday. Will see how it goes when I feel better.
Sassy has gone into her first heat cycle. She cannot understand why she is staying a 5' square pen with newspaper on the floor. She will get spayed in February.

Eric, I am sure Jay could write a good book with our groups help.

Jay, good description of the GM group. Never thought of myself as Unique until now. :D

Drew did you see the Fog accident in TX. I always worried about those type of conditions while traveling in my RV.

Looking, stay safe in what like a direct hit on your location.

David did I miss this pictures of your project.

DABSGT, long time to be an EMT and LE.

Buppies, lots of Buckeyes disappointed with their teams loss. But I am from Michigan so the outcome was good.

Prayers and best wishes to everyone.

Good Morning All.

There was a time when football replay would only overturn a call based on UNDISPUTABLE evidence. Ohio state was robbed last night, they won the game.
