Good morning!!!!

Good morning all.
warm front coming up bringing rain tomorrow, but 54 out now going to 73 today in clouds.
Used hot tub last night after dinner as preventive medicine and had a nice sleep last night.
Going to take it easy today.

Ron, I watched that about five times, wondering if the guy who ran off was hit, which apparently he was and too bad the whole thing rolled over.
The guy in the pick up there trapped under the truck must have been quite shook up.
If I ever get into dense fog, the four ways go on and I slow way down.
But if the guy behind me hasn't slowed down, real problem.
this is why many European cars have rear fog lamps, trying to make sure the person to the rear can see you far enough away to slow in time.
I've been thinking of adding two additional light bars on the rear of the rv, that flash with turn signal, light up with lights on, which is most of the time and greatly
improve braking message.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

25 right now...high in the mid-36's today. Snow and mixed precipitation moving in tonight (as Thomas wrote above). Depending on how one wants to add up the daily accumulation predictions...could be up to 9".
Although I have 5 gallons of diesel on hand, I think I'll get another 5 gallons and top off the tractor's tank

Ron just good football not a real fan of either one. LSU will be tough to beat whoever plays them

ronjhall;
it looks to me that the truckdriver was driving way too fast for conditions.
As far as the storm goes, if it is all snow, I can handle that. Freezing rain though is a different animal. Good thing I have lots of ashes.

BEF;
the storm is in Thunder Bay, ON now and stretching across to SS Marie, ON/MI.

Roy;
your tractor fuel tank should ALWAYS be full in winter. That will keep the condensation out.

Bird;
do you really have to start swearing at 7 minutes to 7?:D

I use Power Service (white bottle) with every filling and never run the tractor for short periods (in the winter). So far...knock on wood...no problems.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

A red sky, hazy sunny 23ºF for today's low temperature, a hazy 26ºF presently; and I anticipate an increasingly cloudy afternoon with high temperature in the high 30ºF's. The calm before the storm. Plan for today = storm preparations.

Bruce- It was definitely a compliment about your chicken cordon blue prep technique. I roll mine as well, but am usually too hungry and lazy to make an accompanying sauce and Wifey prefers it this way (the real reason).

"... Periods of snow mixed with freezing rain? I just checked out NEXRAD, it is a biggie!"- Bill This is one big storm affecting a lot of us here. Good luck with the icing. We are under a NWS issued Ice Storm Warning Alert until Tuesday.

BEF- I wish that I could eat all those meals and desserts. It'a not the sugars it's my girth & poundage. :embarrassed: This storm system stays pretty much within the CONUS excepting the Canadian Great Lakes' regions, and the modeling cutoff at the border is the way WPC does their mapping..... everything cuts off at the border. It's a PITA. I am not a fan of replay in college football.

I am a Big 10 fan. I saw PSU win without any napping. I did not see a complete game after that.

RonJH- I hope all goes well with Sassy's heat and her neutering.

Thomas- Some weather models are now hinting at more snow for me, but right now it looks like a major ice storm here. If I move my tractor today it will be due to more snow anticipated.

This is a big storm. The GOES satellite actually shows moisture being sucked in from the Canadian Maritimes.

I hope that everyone has a decent day today and all those currently impacted and/or soon to be by this evolving weather event stays out of harm's way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning to all! Low of 18 last night, tonight it is forecast to drop to 6. We did get about 3 inches of snow last night... no enough to cause any problems, at least not here....

Last day for the relatives to be here.... things will get back to normal....

Jay, LFN, and all you guys up north, batten down the hatches, fire up the stoves, stay inside and be warm!

Gonna cut it short...everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Morning to all, stay well and get better to all;

Well I guess that I'll get going and drop off the grapple and 3 point forks,
put the bucket on, maybe even see if I can back drag some of the muddy ruts down a bit smoother.
I'm between the 0.34" and 0.09" areas so who knows.
May even back it into the generator and hook up the pto, that way the power will not go out.

Yea, my comment was in reference to how they cut off the radar image at the border, like the storm magically ended there.

That grey area to the north of the Great Lakes and the 49th parallel doesn't matter to the US weather services.

I had a waitress in Georgia convinced that we got snow all year round and we lived in igloos. Told her that in order to get into my tractor, I had to kick the penguins off the porch. lol, I had a ball at her expense.:laughing:

68°F and .02 inches rain. A bit blustery this morning.
Energy conservation morning, watch some football. See what the afternoon brings.

Nice little holiday social yesterday, 11 people. Met a new couple, neighbors to the hosts. One of the old friends brought an ahi dish that was absolutely wonderful. Wife’s banana rum cake a big hit. So was the new Ridgeline. Considered that interesting coming from a crew of at least 4 Prius and a Leaf.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Ron, Nope you didn’t miss. I’ll take a new one once the step is repainted and installed

I follow the NWS office that’s west of me on FB. I’ve made comments before, and once they commented I wasn’t in their area. I said I know, but my weather comes thru you first, and my area NWS office is on the other side of me. By the time they tell me what’s coming, it’s too late, it’s already here.

Same with TV weather warnings, all the stations are on the other side. By the time they start giving storm warnings, too late for me.

Had another Christmas dinner that couldn’t be beat. Same things as yesterday. That must have been one big turkey, there is enough for several more meals, and most of the ham is left.

I check the US weather because it will tell me how big the storm is and where it is going. I love it when Toronto gets pounded with snow. A goodly percentage of the idiots in Toronto can't drive on a dry day, let alone in snowy conditions.
The storm where the mayor called out the army, me and a buddy plowed all of it just to the north. No logbooks then.
