Good morning, a mild 9C/48F here, not much firewood needed today.

Nice toy Bups !

Eric Buckland the man who ate nearly everything?
Yes, that's him. He reckoned the worst tasting were bluebottles and moles. That's a real shame as moles have just exceeded my live-and-let-live threshold, this morning I counted 421 mole hills in this little 5 acre field.

BEF, Are you back up to speed?
Getting there.

 Kyle, we need to do something to keep BEF off the speed, there must be a better way to forget his 2019 troubles than resorting to amphetamines

Good Morning,
temp here is 27°F and going to a high of 30. Wind WSW 8 mph. Partly sunny.

Well, yesterday went better than planned. You need to remember that my stepson will, during any project, sabotage the project. Or he will help on any ONE job in a day. So, we started with the dump run. That went off without a hitch. We got back to the house and I told him that it would take me about 5 minutes to warm up the tractor and normally he would park his butt in the house for about an hour. 3 minutes later he was out the door and down to the lean-to. We got the tarp off the open side and dug it out with the tractor where it was frozen into the dirt, (seat time). After the tarp job, I went back down and helped the falling down side, fall faster. I will be tearing it down in spring. We got back up to the house and went ahead and fixed the sticking front door that since last fall we've had to slam to get it to close. Not no more.
A very productive day as far as I am concerned.

Buppies, I didn't think they made oilers that small.:D
Both of ours are on tandem chassis and both of them have 4' extensions on both sides. We can spray 16' in one pass. Always two on one job working together, except when one breaks down. They are both barn-yard Cadillacs. In our surface treating (tar and chip) crew there aren't any petes. The tri-axle dump trucks are all Western Stars. Then there are the trucks that haul the oil from the terminal to the job site and they are a barnyard Cadillac and my beloved 2001 Freightliner FLD 120SD. Both of us hauling super B trains. 11,000 US gallons/load. I have seen this crew empty 3 of these in a day. (We usually get a broker to haul the third load)

Have a safe day all

This is a geriatric checkin and resource center?:cool:
Jay, I haven't put my hearing aids in yet, which may explain why I thought you were about to give us a recipe for

Geriatic chicken.png sauce.png

:D

Hope Peg can soon manage without those nasty meds.

Poured first cup of coffee. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with sunny skies in afternoon. Decided to dehydrate some apples early in the day. 2 quart bottles full should be good for a month or 2. Lots of cinnamon makes them very addictive. Son and I exercise bike in house. Found a video on how to program it. Was easy to clear old data and set it up for. Then I decided to try a ride on it. Comfortable it was. But after 10 minute at a moderate rate I was beat. Maybe my Dr. was right. I need a exercise plan. I will give it another try later today.

RNG, good pictures of the Museum. We visited there a few years ago. So much to do. Old town and Midway were great visits. We did the car and air museums. Needed a rest after all the tours. Happy New Year.

Buppies, looks like a nice truck. Do not get any tar/oil on the white.

Eric, is that a picture of my front yard.

Kyle, why paint bike black. Yellow looks very bright.

Hawkeye, looking forward to reviews of the Simply Safe system.

Good Morning All.

good morning all. Going to be a nice day and will work outside with helper trimming bushes and trees. Will get in to high sixties today, low 70's tomorrow with rain coming in.
Had a bad night last night, was on my feet too much yesterday and had awful leg cramps again. Going to drink extra water at dinner and see if that helps. I stopped taking statins due to cramps so they aren't the problem any more. Landscaper crew did a lot of tree work, owner is very talented with machinery, I let him take the big Massey with the cab into the woods, with the finish mower on the back.
Needless to say turning around was done carefully. Not a scratch, all good. He used the bucket on the tractor to push over a tall pine that had died, and he dropped it perfectly. Now my front woods, the part you see coming down the lane, is cleared out and looks much better. Helper offered to bush hog it all but I like it natural. We made some wood piles with the pine, no other use for it, hopefully a habitat for some critter soon.

Eric, that looks like an invasion in your field.

Thought he was referring to how fast I commute to work.

40 going to 62. Coco has bowel games going, too...took her for a walk at her insistence at 1am and 5am and 7am.

Eric - holey moley...I count things, too, by the way.

Kyle, nice job on the bike.

Hawk, your wife is doing a kind thing making those phots available to her family.

Ron, real good clarity on that zoomed photo...nice ratio of sunflowers in that seed mix.

Finished sawing my fallen aspen that fell over the creek...I managed to only drop one round into the creek...and then used it as a stepping stone to finish sawing and to carry all of the other rounds across the creek to where the tractor was parked. Brought up a load and still have about 1 or 2 loads left.

Found a poacher sitting in one of my deer stands while hiking Coco in the woods yesterday. Had a nice friendly chat and don't think he will be back. He's a local and walked in and said: "didn't know who owned it...thought maybe it was so and so's stand." I never posted my property in the 35 years we've been here, but I went back with a step stool and put up 2 signs on that corner where the deer trail crosses the property line.

45° in the valley. At my in-laws. My first visit since last spring. 2019 will be one for me to forget.

Worked half a day yesterday. My son went to work and couldn’t get in. No one showed up that could open the place.
I need a cup of coffee. Head is stopped up.

FIL doing well after his heart valve surgery. He’s not sure what kind he has, so can’t moo or oink to him yet.

I81 was very busy yesterday, but moving. Get in left lane and go with the flow. If you moved right you won’t get back into left to pass. I wasn’t driving.

Saw later there was a bad head on collision on Rt 340 that we were on earlier. Someone going wrong direction where it’s a divided road.

We stopped at an old time restaurant for supper on old Rt11. Been there since the 50s. Still has a lunch counter. We sat in an undersized booth. I ordered their rib special. Never had ribs with a cinnamon glaze as the sauce. It was different, not sure I want it again.

Waiting for people to stir. In-laws are talking about selling in the spring and moving to town. They own a townhouse they used to rent but isn’t rented right now. They say they can’t keep up with the work in the country, but they have kept expanding their yard instead of leaving it woods.

Supposed to visit some of wife’s cousins today. They have a farm, raise chickens. Her mom from a family of 12. Most still live near their old farm that a brother still runs.

Her dad was an only child and is only one left on his line of the Lincoln’s. Abraham’s grandfathers farm is just up the road. Not well marked. His line is from a brother to Abraham’s dad. There’s books about them, my wife is listed in one of the Lincoln books.

 upon how you handle the matter.
Kinda surprise he didn't ask permission to hunt there after the talk.

36 right now and that's about where it's going to stay today.
Since I didn't make it to the barbershop yesterday, I guess I'll give it a try today. I also need to finish assembling a coat rack...started yesterday, but one piece was giving me fits...I stopped in frustration. We'll see if the wifey wants to do some shopping today too

I scanned most of my parents photos and a lot of their slides. My brother scanned some in a low resolution that I want to rescan, and he can’t find the album. He said he returned it but we can’t find it.

Their old black and white pictures from the 40s - 60s are great. The color instamatic photos afterwards are mostly garbage. A lot of their slides are bad. Just bad cheap cameras.
