Drew, We had an EF 2 tornado from the storm, about 12 miles from here, on the ground for 9 miles, tore up a lot.

well I bet that is the one that missed my close friend's house by a mile. Whoa.
Tornados are like lightning, just way more powerful than we are.
Now that weather is warming up, so are the storms.

Without an effective storm shelter here, it remains on my mind.
Trying to figure out how to hog up a great deal of the garage for a prefab
steel booth. Which hopefully would be left attached to the concrete when the roof blew off.

So funny. (Sorry, cat lovers. I like them, too. But the mental scene of Buppies and the cats is delightful.)

Gray2 just informed me cats don't bounce off walls, cats have claws and stick like velcro. :confused3:

Had a day with Mom yesterday and cleaned her garage, really just moved things around and blew out the leaves with a blower.

A nice 65˚F morning - window tinting day if I can get an appointment. It's getting hard to find time for all my clubs.

David sorry for your troubles with the gas line, that sounds like a MAJOR project. I would look into the problems with that line to see if there are other people with problems and if the defective product manufacture has settled any class action lawsuits that could provide some relief.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:00AM. Mostly cloudy early, then sunshine for the afternoon. High 69F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Picked up a couple tenths of rain since midnight, and despite what the radar and the weatherman says, it's still raining. Now they're also calling for more rain Saturday, and this weekend all my motorcycle buddies will be here working on their airheads. Might have a few more on the floor in the great room than usual this year...

Good luck with the turkeys, Wng. Always love to see the toms strutting their stuff. Be nice if you could bring one home with you!

Good news on the car, Randy. Sounds like the o-ring supplier is standing up nicely, too!

When I pulled the laser pointer off the input flange to the front differential yesterday, the magnets were so strong the flange moved a quarter inch toward the rear of the van. It's not supposed to move at all, but the nut that secures it in place had loosened and backed off. Whoever was supposed to torque it to 118 lb. ft. didn't. More excuses from the ex-mechanic, more reason why he's "ex". With the nut tight, there's no more runout in the flange, and it probably explains the oil leak as well. Once it dries up, I'll have another go at getting a bit better alignment, and I think it might be time for another test drive to see if there's been any improvement in the vibration issue.

When I was pretty young I got a drum for Christmas. I must've beat that thing incessantly, because every once in a while it would disappear. Then I'd "find" it, and I'd start beating it again, and it would disappear again. Then one time I found it much more entertaining to punch holes in the drum head with the drumsticks, but it didn't beat too well after that. I think my parents were quite relieved. I can't imagine giving a kid an electronic drum kit these days without also locking him/her in a soundproof room...
Gave one of our kids a cheap drum set. Fortunately they lost interest quickly.

The low was 37° this morning and the sky is overcast. The forecast for today is a 80% chance of rain with a 15-20 mph wind.

We came back from SLC yesterday and had rain most of the way home. The weekend visit went well, it was nice to see the grandkids and daughter. My daughters boyfriend took us to a inside rifle range. The boys did pretty good for shooting there guns the first time. I didn't much care for the inside range I'm not sure I'll do that again. Also made trips to Harbor Freight and Cabela's.

The rain made a mess of the driveway with all the snow we got last week. I need to see if there is any thing I can do about that today

toppop ... Glad your mom had a nice birthday.

Hope everyone with aches and pains continues to improve.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low down to 38, going up to 71 today. Then cloudy this afternoon with a chance of showers tonight. Yesterday about the same but a little breezy in the afternoon. Breezes suddenly stopped at around 6 pm.

Got busy yesterday and didn't even realize that I didn't post. The guy was late coming to buy / pick up the VW bugs on Sunday. He didn't get here until almost 6pm. We loaded all the boxed parts, an extra engine, and one of the bugs. He's going to come back this weekend for the rest. He paid in full, so that's ok.

Jay got me thinking about my garden tractor.... I haven't even looked at it since last October. Sure enough, both rear tires were flat. Filled them with the air tank, don't hear any hissing. Hopefully they held overnight.
I've had this tractor since 2001. The original battery lasted 9 years. Toward the end of its life, it would need to get charged at the beginning of the season. The first replacement only lasted 2 seasons. The second replacement also only 2 seasons. The 3rd replacement was 4 years ago. I must have gotten lucky with this one, cranked like it was brand new. This first replacements were from Autozone, the one that's lasting is a "Huskey" brand from TSC.

Got the outdoor fountain cleaned out, refilled, and running. Birds coming in and taking drinks. Started up the drip irrigation and got 2 zones watered. Only a couple of of water tubes were clogged, so easy to fix. More of the same today. I got around OK using a cane, but it was a little tricky on the uneven terrain and landscape mulch. I'm in no hurry, so was very careful.

David, sorry to hear about the propane line. I would seriously be examining alternative routes for the line. Tearing up concrete is not easy, as I'm sure your aware. Good luck finding a solution.

Drew, enjoy your new- found "quiet" mowing. Glad to hear your tinnitus is getting better.

Glad no one was affected by the storms.

Randy, I missed saying happy birthday to your mom, glad she had a good day spending time with you and Ellen.

Kyle, I hope your daughter is able to get through her current difficulties...extra prayers sent.

I'm sure I have missed other things.......

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent

Thanks everyone for mom痴 birthday wishes, she had a decent day. 55 heading to 66 later, feels chilly, Air is dry. Going to be cool again tomorrow, then around 80 on Thursday. Pretty typical April on the Delmarva Peninsula, Frost in the morning, blisters in the afternoon.
I hope all you guys with pain and problems, get whatever relief you need.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A wild windy night last night. Our cold wood stove was whistling and the slimline mini-split heads were humming with some of the wind gusts. This morning I discovered more of the roofing on our outbuilding had blown off and some of my carefully stacked wood (~ a rick's worth) had succumbed to the laws of gravity and entropy. This is the first time other than a 驛スlight FEL tap years ago :embarrassed: that I had stacked wood unstack itself = a change in today's plans. A mixed cloud/sunny 34コF was today's low; 40コF with increasing sunshine presently; and a sunny low 50コF's anticipated this PM.

The poem needs some editing; it's very faded.

Kyle- My continuing + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your daughter and the ABA program.

David- Good luck with the propane challenge.

Drew- Thanks for the headphone link.

Buppies- Good luck with the future DIL and the cats. Swinging one around would not make for a very good impression.;)

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning all,

42 and raining, good thing is most of the snow is gone. Supposed to warm up and be sunny tomorrow.

David, could you move the propane tank to the other side of the concrete and avoid any cutting? If this can't be done I'm sure you are thinking to put the new line in a conduit.:)

Prayers for all, have a nice day.

55°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 80° today. Carbon copy for tomorrow.

Definitely a bummer watching the Notre Dame fire unfold yesterday. I imagine that 800-year-old lumber burned pretty hot. Hope they got most of the important stuff out, but there is surely some history lost there. Saw a telling photo last night, taken from a Paris Police drone. Definitely looks hot in there.

"The Lure"

“WHAT bait do you use,' said a Saint to the Devil,
When you fish where the souls of men abound?'
'Well, for special tastes,' said the King of Evil,
'Gold and Fame are the best I've found.'
'But for common use?' asked the Saint. 'Ah, then,'
Said the Demon, 'I angle for Man, not men,
And a thing I hate
Is to change my bait,
So I fish with a woman the whole year round.'

I wanted to be a drummer when I was a wee little tike. I let a grade school music teacher talk me into trumpet instead. I have a large (8-piece; kick, snare, and 6 toms) acoustic Tama kit and an electronic Alesis kit with an identical layout. With electronic drums, at least there is a volume knob you can turn down, or you can wear headphones. Acoustic kits are always just loud.

The new stuff is a virtual instrument that only plays as loud as the volume settings in the program and at the speaker outputs. I admit, it did get kinda loud Sunday evening.

Good Morning. It was 59°F this morning and partly cloudy. Forecast says 79°F this afternoon and should stay partly cloudy all day.

May be a good day to wash some of the windows on outside. Not my favorite job but ...... still preferred over cleaning the insides of windows.

I've a nice set of the old Bose QC 15 noise cancelling headphones, that I carried on all my overseas trips before retiring. They had nearly 2M miles on them. Always used Duracell batteries in them but, last time I was in S. Korea the battery died about an hour before landing and I had no spares with me. I ended up with a non-Duracell battery (from guess where) and told myself ..... I needed to replace when I returned home. Forgot all about until a few months ago when I decided that, since I rarely used them after retirement, I would try them out when running the ZT instead of the Work Tunes headphones I normally used. Turned them on and no sound. Opened the battery chamber and it was full of corrosion. It was so bad it had eaten the tiny wire that connected to the battery chamber cap. RIP Bose friend.

Hope everyone has a great "hump day eve" day.

Prayers to all.

65°F and .17 inches rain.
Primary goal is to evaluate propane options with fresh eyes before actually doing anything. As I don’t want to tear up the driveway before end of the month anyway, I can take the time and plan.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I feel your pain, Rick. I have an old Sony over-the-head in-ear headphone that is the best sounding in-ear I've ever heard, every bit as good as any of the high-end studio headphones I've used. It came with an old Walkman, and pre-dates the individual earbuds, which I don't care for. I haven't seen a set like this in over a decade. If/when they die, I'll be seriously bummed.

Another day of altered plans. With Easter coming up wife felt we needed to get some shopping done. Shopping is done. But lawn mower is still waiting to be made ready for first spring cut.
