RNG, I guess it's time to get out our hummingbird feeder and see if they're around yet? Are you seeing any yet.

Had a couple of pairs that wintered over this year, and now there must be eight or ten. Almost time to put the other two feeders out, bringing the total to four.

Spent most of the rest of the day puttering around in the studio. Got the new USB interface up and running, and all audio routed through it to the new monitors. Also took advantage of an anniversary sale at one of the software companies (ToonTrack) and downloaded a drum program extension pack, normally $89 for just $29 this weekend. Got three more drum kits and a bunch of snare drums. Big package, took about an hour to download and install. Ended up playing with that until about 9:30 pm.

When I was pretty young I got a drum for Christmas. I must've beat that thing incessantly, because every once in a while it would disappear. Then I'd "find" it, and I'd start beating it again, and it would disappear again. Then one time I found it much more entertaining to punch holes in the drum head with the drumsticks, but it didn't beat too well after that. I think my parents were quite relieved. I can't imagine giving a kid an electronic drum kit these days without also locking him/her in a soundproof room...

Colonel John Bryant and his one eyed wife Eliza seemed happy to share their home with us. Their house was adorned by old paintings. (including 1 eyed Eliza) and Spanish American War relics on all the walls. A spiral entrance stairway entrance where someone could really do a good job hanging themselves. And a grandfather clock w/o chimes (70 miles away) that chimed one night :eek: during a winter T-Storm blizzard. I never believed in this stuff until I lived it. Cold spots (easy in an unheated old farmhouse), but significantly colder spots. Our overnight guests always heard footsteps going up the backstairs to the bedroom. They always went up; never down.... A consistent report. He loved fly fishing. He was there:eek: when I tied flies sometimes. I inherited his his old bamboo flyrod and a couple of his flies still looking functional and his book on Fly Fishing. I will try to copy it's preface. Ouija boards were forbidden by me after an  episode. And honestly I got chased out of the attic. I do not scare easily.

Very entertaining ghost story, Jay. Glad you survived to tell the tale!

35 right now...high in the upper 40's today.
Boy, a lot of rain and flooding yesterday! I went through one area that, if it had been light (this was about 0430-0445), I probably wouldn't have driven through. The field out back is, of course, almost completely underwater.

Not a great day ☹️
Another ( the second) propane line developed a leak. This is main feed (high pressure) line from the 250 gal tank to main part of house, feeding 8 appliances.had already replaced other main line a couple years ago when it developed problems. This is ceramic coated pipe made for propane. Plumber says it has been nothing but problems since county mandated its use. This line will be replaced with poly as was last one. Challenge is this one goes under about 40 feet of concrete. Will have to cut concrete and trench. Low pressure line it connected to passed pressure test and is mostly encased in concrete. Replacing any of that will be a real problem.
Currently set up using a couple of 40lb bottles while we work out the details. What I didn’t know was my plumber had just recently got back in the business and is the only employee, so I suspect I will be actively involved. Of course my tank which was just filled on 2/28 is near empty.

Sure hope that isn't any new concrete you have to cut David, 40 feet will be a lot of sawing. Sorry it broke.

Mostly, thanks for reminder about Ed, I think nothing heard yet.
I hope he is doing well with family and his new lathe.

Much chillier 42 this morning going up to 71, should be a nice day. My close friend in DE said an EF-2 went right by his house yesterday tearing up things, with only a last minute warning on their cell phones.
Toppop, did you get storms also?

House is a little cold, still set on a/c...kinda hope not to turn heat back on.
Coffee just dinged, now that takes priority.

Today will include washing my car and more lawn mowing. Normal stuff, nothing exciting.
And I will try to remember to put the humming bird feeder out.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning. 32 now, supposed to get to 66 today. Never got above 50 yesterday. But tomorrow is looking good!

1st cup of coffee is gone, ready for #2. No word from Germany.....I suspect this weekend I will be heading across the big pond.

I feel for you with the propane line issues. That sucks. And will be a big job to replace. Good luck.

Well, better get moving and get into whatever today brings.

Have a safe and good day

19 °F and going to a high of 48. Wind NW 11 mph. Sunny.

The 'check engine' light came on and flashing on the Journey yesterday. It goes into the shop at 4 P.M. today. I have a sneaky suspicion this car is going to become a money pit. I sure hope not.

Have a good day all

never a good thing, an annoyance at best...or the red light of doom.
hope it's simple to fix.

Ron, this was the headphone I bought. Thought about buying "next one up" but glad I didn't because this works ok, not so expensive if I wreck it I'm going to be most unhappy (like a $300+ Bose) and I wanted to prove out the design. Before that I bought a pair of high tech earplugs, cute little white things with tiny handles for insertion. Put them in and everything immediately got worse. Nope. So that style didn't help with my tinnitus at all. So before I bought another dud, I tried to get a high value one. I like that it charges by USB cable, as I have an adapter in the 12V outlet in the tractor.
Would like one more ruggedized for outdoors work but this one seemed to get decent reviews. Appears there is one Chinese maker and about ten clones of it floating around, per usual.

Highest use will be mowing, which so far is a real problem, because my favorite hat won't stay on my head, particularly
on these windy days. And I absolutely have to wear a hat. That could be a big challenge for today. I wonder if I can wear the headphones on top of the hat, like I do with regular muffs at times, would the electronics work. Worth a try.

Today I change the oil in the old girl, the 1956 Farmall Super A. Looked a little black even though it had maybe 15 hours on it. Not even going to change the oil filter, just the oil. And switching to 40W from 30W for summer heat.
That oil gauge drops and drops and drops when hot, only to a smidge off the bottom.
Now this is a very slow moving engine, maybe 1500 rpm tops, so maybe no worries but low
oil pressure worries me. Plus no water temp gauge, so I'm flying blind. They always seemed more interested in giving you an amp/voltage meter so you could check your battery, useless info usually, starts or doesn't...charges back up or doesn't.
Wish they'd given out water temp gauges instead. Likely the amp meter was simpler and cheaper and wouldn't leak.

And maybe I'll try to tighten some pan gaskets that are leaking. Most of them are the "don't overtighten" kind that
give me the willies working on.

Need to brew some coffee. 38° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 62° with rain in afternoon. Dr visit went well. Got a new BP med. Hope the side effects do not cause too many problems. Plan to get Lawn mower ready for lawn cutting today. Weather forecast shows rain almost everyday for the next week.

Sad that Notre Dame Cathedral burned. People are donating to rebuild it.

Roy, be careful around high water areas.

Jay, good story.

Randy, clad your mom had a nice birthday. Glad truck is OK.

David, not good with propane lines. Hope repairs go better than described.

Looking, hope your CEL problems is something simple. Like fuel cap not properly tightened. I have a cheap CEL code reader. Saves a lot of aggravation.

Drew, thanks for info on headphones. My old farmalls all had low oil pressure when warm.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Drew, We had an EF 2 tornado from the storm, about 12 miles from here, on the ground for 9 miles, tore up a lot.

38 but feels good...and no mosquitos. I'm out turkey hunting, but very quiet and calm after yesterday's 20 to 30mph all day.

David, so sorry about your propane problem.

Jay, very interesting history and ghosts.

Got about an hour mowing done yesterday...most of the time I could outrun the blowing grass clippings, but I got nailed on a few turns. Even with safety glasses my got stuff in my eyes.

All is peace and quiet again outside, the wind has died down for the first time in a week or more. Thought I would be out with the Iseki first thing after breakfast. My wife thought otherwise - grocery shopping. I keep saying it would be worth paying the 」5 delivery charge, like buying an extra hour of life ! She doesn't see it that way ...

There was a similar scale major fire at York Minster, another very old and magnificent cathedral, back in the 80's. They rebuilt it in 4 years. Now that fire is just part of the building's history, as I'm sure will be same with Notre Dame. In time, it will pull in even more tourists.

Not enough room for both ? Try swinging just one at a time.
Poor kitties.

So funny. (Sorry, cat lovers. I like them, too. But the mental scene of Buppies and the cats is delightful.)
