Good morning! 58˚F and a line of Thundershowers heading this way from the West. They should be here about 7am, the same time the gardens are requesting a tractor operator for their clean-up day. Looks like we will have a slight delay this morning.

I think the winning tractor will fit in my garage if I raise the FEL and park it on a raised stand. The ceiling is 9'. I got till April 1st to figure this out.

Kyle, I hope the Dr. can figure out the cause of your high blood pressure.
Don, i already got a plan for the new tractor in my barn, so you won't have to worry about it fitting in your garage.

Got stuff to work on my floor seams, now need the motivation. Couldnt find a little roller, except a cheap plastic one that looks like it will break the first time i press on it.

My blackstone griddle came, maybe I'll season it later.

CF- I am sorry to read about your sled. I am happy to assume that you were not seriously injured other than the hurt on the wallet. A kid was killed near here sledding recently; I believe he ran off trail and hit a tree. I have yet to try snowmobiling. It seems that sleds are naturally attracted to solid/fixed objects. I snowshoe; slower and usually safer. My little sailboat was naturally attracted to every non-buoy marked rock, floating log, and sunken stump on the Lake I sailed. Luckily for the boat and captain the boat had a weighted swing keel that made a lot of noise when it hit something and bounced over it.

Buppies- Thanks for clarifying which body part. There are a lot more bad body parts posted about here than the the number of posters. I get the sense that we all have ~ 3 - 4 serious concerns apiece. :( I have Popeye Arms w/o the tattoos, almost full ROM, but not much if any lifting above shoulder strength nowadays. I am really careful about chainsaw operation and only cut downed wood now. I had to retire my splitting maul; I can no longer use it w/o injury, but as a result I finally got a decent electric 5 ton splitter. It handles firewood 1/4's well, but it cycles slowly just like the owner/operator. I should have bought one years ago.

Dave- Have a good time lunching with your friends.

Genie looks good. If you haven't already, check manual for max air pressure...I blow off my ZD at about 90 psi, but turn down to 30 when I get to radiator, per Kubota operator manual.

BEF, I've got one of these rollers I use in the shop for bonding Formica surfaces. I think it would do well on your floor seams.

Amtico Karndean Amtico Karndean Floor & Wall Roller 18 - 24 Inch Long https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009G7PCT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_15xCCb6XTQTA7

Agreed on 30 psi for radiator. The removable screen, in front of the radiator, catches most of the grass.

I use my Echo backpack blower or Lynxx 40 volt battery blower, to blow away the worst of the grass and dust first.

Thanks, might go with one of the alternative ones a little less pricey.
A heat gun would be nice also, but plan to use hair dryer.

I gotta have a roller somewhere, ive put down vinyl before, and formica... Just gotta look.

So, after the somewhat picturesque scene with the snow this morning, (without the blizzard conditions), the wind persisted to blow all of the snow off of my neighbor's pasture. He just disc it last week, nice smooth dirt. I ended up with most of his topsoil...... Anybody ever see brown snow? The first pic is of a snow drift, not a pile of dirt.... Proof in the last pic after a shovel into it... You can see my neighbor's pasture in the second pic in the background.... Totally devoid of snow...

The driveway is drifted about 2' high, of course right at the narrow part we have to drive through. I know what I 'll be doing if the wind stops. That's ok, not going anywhere today, so I'll get some seat time tomorrow.

The blowing dirt is another one of the things I really hate about the great SW, secondary to the wind...did I mention that before?

Can't wait to get out of this place... I 'm counting the days....

".... Anybody ever see brown snow?"- Yes , it's rarely windblown;), and I try not not step in it:eek: I am not looking forward to Spring melt and see what has been hiding under the compacted ice/snow.

Seriously I am amazed at the amount and strength of your winds out there and if I remember correctly you are in the high plains, not the mountains. A wintertime dustbowl. It's too bad for your farmer neighbor.:(

I'm in for some dump rum.

44 today. Supposed to be warming over night.

Chickens are gone. Still trying to finish taxes. Go Monday for preparer to go over them. Then I can focus on getting chicken coops decayed and ready for the next flock.

Been a rough week. Oldest son is home with the flu. My cousin who is a year younger than me spent the week in Houston. They confirmed she has brain cancer. She went to doctor in mid December who flew her to Louisville where she had surgery to remove a brain tumor before Christmas. Those test weren稚 consistently conclusive so she ended up in Houston for a second opinion. Her prognosis is not good, she has 4 kids under 10 years of age.

Roy. Glad your wife is doing better.

Kyle. Get better.

Don. Good luck with tractor giveaway.

Drew. Good news. Right. They found something but also nothing.

So sad to hear this. Prayers for your cousin. I had 6 people (now 7) on my cancer prayer list. I can't begin to imagine the turmoil this causes for the family. Hope Houston can help her. I have a cousin in the Houston hospital that her breast cancer had spread to her brain. There is a team in ****** who claims to have cures. Hope the President allows them to fast track it on individuals willing to try it.

Hope your son gets better soon. Flu is no fun for anyone.

Been refrigerator shopping. I sure hate reading the 1 and 2 star reviews. I know some are legit. But some are just complainers. I sold Yamaha's during high school/college, and there's 1 thing I found out about the general public. There is a (thankfully small) segment of the population that will complain about money in their back pocket. You could check/fix their machine, deliver it for free, show them what they're doing wrong, stuff money in their pockets, and they'll still complain all the way to ____ and back. They would come back in the store wanting a deal on a generator or something and I'd just say "The price you see is the price." pointing to the sticker price. No thanks. Wore out their welcome.

Anyway, lot of refrigerator reviews about too much noise, improper cooling, etc.....and these on a 4.5 star model??? Is it another "They don't build them like they used to." planned failure just out of warranty???

Fortunately, I have a backup fridge, and a freezer in the barn.

I will have to catch up later on the posts between Farmer's and this one.

Good morning, the sun made it through the mist within a few minutes of rising. We are set for a very nice day to be sheepless.

Most liquid foodstuffs that we buy come in nice round multiples of a litre and that's fine with most people, yet milk producers have never quite come to terms with that, so they sell it in sizes that require 3 digits after the decimal point on the label in order to be equivalent to old imperial pints.

The larger containers are just a bit too big - 2 litres would be a handier size and would then be close to the US 1/2 gallon.

If the milk fits, .....

Me too, and thanks to all for the prayers and concerns. It has come down somewhat, but still higher than normal.

Yes, ZD1211 with 72" RD deck.

I'm lazy too. That why I went with Diesel and 72" deck. I can cover a lot more acres / day.
I was looking at a used high end deere zero turn years ago and was talking to the service guy about it. He said they had to rebuild the Yanmar motor, flabbergasted I asked "Why"? As he was walking off he kind of looked down and away and murmured "Rear discharge deck"....

Daughter is yelling at me to come help in the garden.....gotta go.

CF- I am sorry to read about your sled. I am happy to assume that you were not seriously injured other than the hurt on the wallet.

I knew I could not avoid hitting the tree so I jumped off the sled about 10' from the tree. Only thing hurt on me was my pride. and like you said my wallet.

The sled is still rideable; in fact it happened not long after we got there. I rode the rest of the day just fine.
