Drank both cups of coffee. 36ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 30ー with clouds and winds in afternoon. We had our high for the day around 6am. Lots of water on top of snow from melting and rain. Going to be a slippery mess as things freeze again. Got camera installed on East side of house. Turns out I needed to bore a 1" hole threw 5" of wood to get wire out to mounting. I was sore from all the climbing and boring. But most of the pains are gone this morning. Going to be a day of rest and some NASCAR in afternoon.

Lynn, great pictures.

Drew, good luck with new helper.

Eric, should be able to make something out of that steel. Otherwise added weight for a a box blade.

Kyle, we have a LG that has to be close to 20 years old. It makes noises. But keeps everything properly refrigerated. 20cuft bottom freezer.

LS, brown snow. Looks like it will be a mess to clean up after thaw.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

39 and raining...please stop for a while. Going to 73 and 40 mph winds...thanks LS.

By the way, LS...I know Frank says don't eat the yellow snow, so I guess that goes for the brown snow, too?

Coco is 5 today...new frisbee...she will find/sniff out the present and rip the paper off.

Enjoy your Sunday!

That brown snow is not good for that farmer at all. He's loosing his topsoil...wonder if that farmer
should consider no till methods.
Happy Birthday Coco.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:45AM. Light rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High around 50F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

The weather folks are calling for a "Moderate long lived atmospheric river" that will bring repeated doses of rain over the next week. It would seem that someone over in Hawaii left the door open again.

Thanks for sharing those photos, Cat. Looks like a lot of fun. And I hope getting the sled straightened out isn't too painful!

Can't fix stupid, Thomas, especially the ones determined to screw up. It would be just to hear that the insurance company denied the claim, but how would we ever get the word?:confused2:

Ran three tanks of gas through the little Stihl yesterday cleaning up the last of the big brush pile, and very glad to see it gone. Not even a half cord of wood out of the deal, as most of it ended up in the bonfire. A lot of those limbs were crooked as a dog's hind leg, and pulling them apart was a big wrestling match. A good workout in the wood gym, one that by 2:30 had me lookin' for a nice, cushy desk chair. Which I found in front of the computer drafting a drawing of the two little plastic tabs that came in the mail to fix the van's shift linkage. With the dimensions and a nice block of Delrin in hand I'll make my own next time some ham fisted idiot ignores my instructions for shifting into reverse.

If the rain holds off, I'll use the big saw to buck the shorter lengths of wood I gathered along the road last month. Once that pile is moved the building pad will be clear. Unfortunately when I spoke to the builder Friday, he hadn't made much progress on the estimate. His excuse is that the company has so much work from Paradise it's hard to find the time for more. Maybe it's time for me to find the time to find a builder that needs the work more than this one does?:muttering:

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...:cloud9:

Happy Birthday Coco let’s go throw some ball

Kyle at our place down south have a Bosch side by side would not recommend but it is eight years old. We have never cared for show or the latest and greatest just something that works well dependable and long lasting. Having the compressor on top insulated very well has worked nicely. We are on our second one as the first sold with the house in 2006. The current one is 13 years old no issues I’m aware of. If I remember correctly it was under $4000 dollars making its cost under $400 a year. The brand is subzero

35 light showers over 4in of rain last week pond overflowing more trees down

Prayers for those in need silent or spoken

Father of friend of mine just bought new car and parked it in front of the four storied building where he lived. Minutes later snow slid from the roof and flattened the car such a way that the seats and the engine were !imprinted to the roof and hood sheet metal.

It is pissing down rain here and the temp is only 30°F. The snow load off the steel roof came down and is threatening the bathroom window. That window is 5' off the ground. I can't get to it with the Kioti as it is right over the septic line. I will get junior to shovel it IF the rain will slow down.
I will go out with the tractor and see if I can scrape down the mound in the middle of the driveway as well as the rest of it.
It is gonna be an interesting day, to say the least.

If I'd known that, I'd have checked in the Walmart I was in with my wife this morning, but the "best by" date on my current milk is still 2 days off, so I didn't look at the milk today. We have 4 Walmart Super Centers and one Walmart Neighborhood Market that we use regularly, plus 4 other Super Centers that we visit occasionally and I've never known any of them to be out of the milk I buy. Looks like I paid $0.65 for the current half gallon on the 12th. But that's no to say that they won't be out of it the next time I'm in one of them.

My milk with "best by" date of today was certainly still good on my cereal this morning, but I went to our nearest Walmart (Hickory Creek) for a couple of things and bought a new bottle with a "best by" date of 3/3/2019 and they had 40 bottles of it on the shelf, as usual. But the price today was $0.89 instead of $0.65. But it's the same "Great Value" whole milk that I've been buying for quite some time. The difference in price may only be because the cheaper one was from the old Denton Walmart and today was from the Hickory Creek Walmart (both are super centers).

Good morning to all! Low went to 22, going up to 47 and sunny. Temps slowly creeping up to near 60 by the end of the week. No precip expected until next Saturday, hopefully just some rain.

Yes, the brown snow will definitely leave a mess. Just clearing the walkway, caused me to track in some dirt....wifey was not happy... We have a screened porch which we use as our 'main' entrance. The wind was so strong, it blew about an inch of that brown snow, sifted very nicely into a damp flour consistency. I had to clean it off 3 x yesterday...what a PIA!

Guys to the east: SORRY! I tried to close the door, but the wind ripped it off the hinges! Not even a breeze here now, so relief might be on the way.

Drew, good luck with your new helper, hope he works out for you.

Wng, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO COCO! Have fun today!

Going to fire up the smoker and do a couple of chickens. One will be dedicated to make 'smokey chicken soup' . Usually turns out delicious.

Kyle, good luck in your refer search.. Many choices out there. Quite a few are now using rotary compressors, less parts, more quiet operation. Supposed to be more efficient.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for those needing.

It was 6° above this morning. Yesterday was mostly sunny and windy in the high 20's. Today is going to be in the mid 30's with partly cloudy skies and 10-20 mph winds. It's supposed to be up In the 40's for a few days this week. That would be a nice change.

Not much going on today. May go out and see if this warm enough in the sun to practice welding. That are watch then them make left hand turns this afternoon (NASCAR).

Hope everyone has a good day.
CWB.

Interesting. Do you think my local Walmart manager was not telling the truth. I went to Menards today. They had 1/2 gallon 2% on the shelf. 3/7 date $1.49. Love that store. A person could do all their shopping there. A little bit of everything.
