16F clear sky now upper 30's for high.

Outside early feed the little critters finish cleaning off shed roof before tomorrow nasty storm arrives, gave old wood furnace darn good cleaning...whew.
Plan for today...dump rum, feed stores for critter food, diesel & gas, seat time on tractor pushing snow banks back here and there, check game cams, than take the day as it comes.
Time to let the clutch out and get my rear into gear.

Enjoy the day all.

48 degrees for a low, going for a high today of 51. I guess we're lucky to not have the cold and snow like so many have this year. But I sure am tired of WET weather; not big rainstorms, but such consistently wet weather. I only got about .02" of rain day before yesterday, .08" yesterday, and .10" this morning. So 11 of the 23 days so far this morning have had some precipitation for a total of 1.67". Last month it was 6 wet days for 1.75". I want to see some sunshine. And it's time to start working on the yard, but I don't really want to wade through puddles.

Good Morning!!!! 37F @ 5:45AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High around 50F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

I know how you feel, Bird. Lots of rain so far out here this year, too, but some sunshine the last couple of days, too. Tomorrow a chain of storms start that'll have us wet again each of the next ten days, so the good days are coming at a price.:confused2:

Our local deputy sheriff caught a convicted felon illegally camping out in a home in Concow, one of the fire ravaged communities just up the road. The criminal had a collection of guns in his tent, none of which he could legally possess. His mug shot, shared on our community Facebook page, showed him to a scary lookin' man, with jail tattoos on his neck, not someone that belongs here. Could have been real trouble had the homeowner found him first.

Took all day to gather up and buck only a little bit of wood, but I got a lot of slash burned in the process, and even enjoyed a bit of a campfire at sundown, so it was still a good day. Especially after the ibuprofen kicked in. My bodyshop neighbor's been complaining he hasn't been able to put up any firewood this season, so I offered to help him cut some this morning. For some reason he remains very non-committal; maybe he likes cutting firewood a lot less than I do?:confused2: His place or mine, and probably both, but cutting more firewood is what I aim to do most of today.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

68°F and foggy here this morning. Forecast says we'll see 73°F this afternoon. Looks like it's doubtful if we'll see much sun today.

I need to do maintenance on the Kubota ZT today. I've put almost 140 hours on it since new last June and found that the air filter needs to be cleaned way more often with the rear discharge deck, than with our prior side discharge John Deere.

I suspect a new set of Gator Mulching Blades will be in order as well. It's stayed green here all winter but, our grass is starting to grow again.

I hoping it has dried up enough to get one of the tractor / grapples to some of the piles of limbs from tree trimming. One area is still very soft, I made ruts with the Polaris Ranger yesterday.

Everyone have an excellent weekend!

Prayers to all.

Good morning to all! Low of 20, but don't know what the wind chill is! It is 35 mph continuous, gusts to 50-55 ! When I woke up and looked out the window, I thought there was a heavy fog....noooo, that's how bad the wind was blowing the snow.... Visibility about 50 ft. Did I ever mention that I HATE WIND !!

This is a pic from the kitchen window, there is supposed to be a mountain in the background! The wind is actually making the house "rumble".

nice looking mower Rick. Considering the deck is chucking everything straight back at the motor, yes.
Wonder if better shielding would work but the more you enclose things harder to work on, maintain...
I'd check your air filter every 20 hours. Mine got pretty glommed up in less than that. Just blew it all out with air hose.

But I sure am tired of WET weather; not big rainstorms, but such consistently wet weather.
Right on Brother...got too wet to even drive my golf cart outside.
Changed oil on the Gravely garden tractor while it and the tiller were in the barn, enjoying the big empty space where the tractor goes,
and after awhile the water was getting inside. Finished what I was doing, made a new sticker for the oil change on my Ptouch machine,
and said that's all for today.

Just hope the veggies aren't drowning.

Now that I am totally stuck inside, wondering which of many inside,
long procrastinated projects/improvements I can work on.
Like regrouting the kitchen floor in spots where the grout keeps cracking and coming out.
In both spots it's due to the tile not being level in the first place,
but that tile guy is long gone and not coming back.

The low this morning was -7°. Yesterday was sunny and no wind, the high was in the low 20's. Today is going to be mostly sunny with the high around 30° and windy this afternoon 20-30 mph. It seem like we have gotten a lot more wind this year then in the past.

I cleaned up some of the snow drifts in the driveway yesterday. And worked on the defroster on the ranger, it looks like plan C is going to work. I'll take it out today and see if anything comes loose.

farmer ... Sorry to hear about your cousin, wishing her and her family the best.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
CWB.

.

Drew, I get about 10-11 hours between diesel fill ups and clean air filter after each fill. Radiator gets blown out even more often.

Best tool ever is the Radiator Genie. I use it on the Kubota ZT and both tractor's radiators. I think mine was about $25 a few years ago. I use the air tool more often than the water tool but both are handy.

Yes, ZD1211 with 72" RD deck.

I'm lazy too. That why I went with Diesel and 72" deck. I can cover a lot more acres / day.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

15ºF was today’s low; 31ºF presently; high 30ºF’s anticipated. The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory tonight/tomorrow and a High Wind Watch tomorrow night/Monday with this approaching weather system.

Farmer- I am sorry to read about your son and especially your cousin. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for you and your family.

Rick- Thanks for sharing. Some of my favorite Winter pictures are those of snow moving locomotives.

Drew- Good luck with the CBD application.

RonJH- I am sorry to read that the swallow evaluation was inconclusive; good luck next week. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your Wife and you.

Kyle- I hope the docs can determine what is driving the HBP.

Roy- I hope that your wife continues to heal and can be discharged from the hospital soon.

Buppies- Thanks. Mr. Knee has been complaining recently, but I honestly believe it is due to healing and not stupid stuff. I am happy to read that you were able to use your chainsaw w/o your neck complaining top painfully. I hope that you make that ortho appointment before you really have to.

Ted- What you described weather-wise is technically a blizzard. I may be seeing your wind Sunday-Monday. A good day for you to hunker down and stay warm.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable weekend and that all our + thoughts, wishes, and prayers are answered.

Getting a late start today, my body is sore from sledding all day yesterday. Plus it was a costly trip, I tagged a tree and damaged my sled. Not sure what it will cost to fix...maybe 500-600 bucks. At one high point I was able to see the Grand Tetons to the north and the High Uinta mountains to the south. It was a clear blue sky all day.

Looks like 6 degrees and a little cloudy today.

Farmer our prayers are with your cousin.
