Yes. Last of the greatest generation.
I agree. I am so happy to have learned my sense of values and civic mindedness from this generation.

I don't know what you have for a pickup but,
if it's a 1500 with one of the higher level trims it may not be your tires so much as your transfer case.
I do see that you are talking about 17 inch tires I have Nokian LT series studded tires on my pickup, they do a good job.
It is a Dodge Journey soccer moms heep.
daugen, it looks like your shed has gone to pot(s).
there wasn't a flower pot my late wife didn't like, every yard sale trip brought one home.
And yes, I have the market cornered at the moment. Just trying very hard to keep this stuff out
of the landfill. So many of these plastic planting pots are not recyclable, a real shame. They ought to require that...
I think for most folks an awd van would provide way more utility than an SUV and get better gas mileage.
Some folks like "sitting up" and that usually means a truck or SUV. But if you get foot deep snows and have to go out in it,
like an EMS person does, you need a lot of clearance and good tires. And a gentle foot...
Heavy snows brought down trees and that brought down wires and that called out the fire company for many years for me.
At the minimum I had positraction and snow tires. Often 4wd. Otherwise in really bad weather you should stay home.
Like I do here because it's craziness on our local roads if there is even a whisper of snow.
Folks here hunker down for a full inch of snow....
And the local ditches are filled with cars skidding into them, as they ignore the laws of physics.
I just stay home now. Unfortunately the road in front of my property is shaded in the afternoon and thus is often icy.
My next door neighbor has bagged two cars in his ditch already.
had to think about that, the count is two for me also. 2 to 2, let's see who wins...
I had a '99 Dodge Caravan that lasted me 260K miles before I traded it for a new Chevy Equinox (which I disliked after driving it awhile). It wasn't AWD, just FWD. As utility vehicles go for musicians, though, you simply cannot beat a minivan.
oh my aching back
