Good evening all, been a nice day. have not been sleeping much lately, shoulder hurts then head starts and I just get up and stay up until things let up. Computer acts up a lot some times and then is fine for days. :confused3:

RNG, I always think Ring when I wright RNG. Very glad you are home but not as glad as you are I bet.

Prayrs sent for all. Ed

Prayers for you Ed, not sleeping and hurting is a tough combination.

No luck so far with the van. Which probably means its the "tandem pump" -- watch out, the VW Touareg, which I think is sold in the US, some of them had the same engine as mine. I wish VW had put somewhere a big Warnung! that letting the van run out of diesel is not only a pain in the a**, but also likely to a pain in the wallet. The van has 100K miles on it (young for a diesel). One more thing to check early tomorrow morning that will verify the pump is a problem, and order one and hope it can arrive by Wednesday (small country, sometimes the deliveries can be Amazon Prime like). Would like to get it back in to working by the weekend.

The older two kids a couple of days ago figured out it was fun to jump off their bunkbed onto the other bed below. I told them to stop. They did it again today, which added to my problems. A wise man at Highland Hardware in Atlanta once said "you can never have too many clamps". I would add that fast curing polyurethane wood glue is another must-have on hand at all times (and in fact it can stick many other materials).

🤪. My brother did the same thing when we were growing up. Only he fell off and broke his arm.

Good luck on your job, and I think we are in for that deal I spoke about earlier, cold and snow before Christmas, milder than normal early winter, cool spring. Hey, my guess is probably as close as the weather man! :D

Good evening all. 44F for the start, overcast, radar showed echos overhead but pavement stayed dry. Calm wind. Light wind day today, sky improved to mostly sunny and high temp was 52F. 2 hour choir practice today, next week is most of our concerts. Had to do some repositioning of boat before starting on the van ignition. Have pulled in inspected 6 of 8 spark plugs so far, last two are going to be real "fun" At least the van still starts and idle smooth, have not seen anything that might cause a misfire or evidence of misfires. Should finish tomorrow even with the bike ride.
RNG good luck with getting everything sorted out.
Andrew, it is nice to be able to fix things, the bunk looks under control. Good luck with getting the van running again.
Ted be sure to follow the PT and exercises
prayers for all.

31 right now...and that is the high of the day...looks like a cold snap coming through for about a week and today's "high" will be mid-20's.

9 with a high of 23F. Wind N 10 gusting to 18 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

I gotta go to Sundridge today and get me a big clevis. The other day when I pulled that Ford out of the ditch we hooked the tow rope onto the 3 point. I know, not very smart. That is why I will be getting a big clevis.
We gotta get some fresher greens and see the butcher again. Cat food is also on the list. I think the route will be drug store, butcher, equipment dealer, hardware store, grocery store and lottery store.

check, how deep is the water at your marina? Also how long are the covered slips at the marina?
the reason I am asking is that I am looking for a marina closer to home and hopefully cheaper than I am paying now.

Have a good day all

33 high of 45 today down in mid 20s tonight

This upcoming storm will put snow and ice down in unusual areas from California all the way across the country to the east coast

Prayers for all in need

The last rain shower finished some time in the night. When I went out this morning a skinny moon was looking on as nature was air brushing the last clouds from the sky.

Air brush.jpg

A few minutes later and all was clear, with ice forming on the roof of the house as the temperature briefly dipped.

is England still part of Europe?
It is a little early in the morning to go asking geography questions about continental drift Drew :)
Unless the tectonic plates below us start to slide around a little differently, I expect the small islands that make up the UK are going to be part of Europe for the next few million years. Political boundaries are a little more slippery ... ;)

Hawkeye, hope the back improvement continues. If you need to take it easy for a little longer, LS may be able to offer some advice has he seems to have finally learned how to not to overdo things :)

41 going up to 54, nice day outside. Might do a little rototilling with the new tractor but really ought to wait another day
until it dries out more. But likely won't....:D

I actually have a fairly large quantity of poppy seeds (the red ones to commemorate our service folks) which should have been planted a month ago, but I just was given them. They say late Fall planting, well....sure must be cold hardy. I'm going to hedge and plant half today and half Feb 1, garden club poppies where I hope to have a small field of them and have folks get a picture in front of it. That's the plan, let's see if I can get them to grow. Tiny, tiny seeds.

Ed, hope you feel better, sounds like the flu.

wash hands, wash hands, wash hands

and with clean hands, have a lovely day...;)

The lower half east coast???

Buppies I think we are just getting rain and wind, typical nor’easter.

Good morning, no shorts today, high of 45. Got some holly trees trimmed up to about 8’, I hate limbs and brush blocking my view and getting in the way of the mower.

Feel better everyone, I gotta get moving. God bless.

I think Toppop must have helped you and left an extra P!
Buppies, do you offer road toppings with extra sprinkles? Road jimmies?
The man is an artist, only one to offer paving in chocolate or vanilla.
Chocolate road with vanilla line markings.
Maybe the botts dots are the jimmies

I had a '99 Dodge Caravan that lasted me 260K miles before I traded it for a new Chevy Equinox (which I disliked after driving it awhile). It wasn't AWD, just FWD. As utility vehicles go for musicians, though, you simply cannot beat a minivan.

I had one of those things! It was a 94 Plymouth Voyager short wheelbase, with the three speed automatic. I was told not to get the four speed because it screws up all the time, and sure enough everyone I knew that had one had problems.

I completely stripped and renovated our house (adding a second story on it) with that, and then sold it to my painter. I think he is still mad at me about it, because he said it was junk. Worked fine for me!

I learned about Bott’s dots when I first went to California in early 70s. They use variations of them here but not the real thing.

No luck with the van. I managed to rig up a fitting on the test port from the fuel pump, which should be producing up to 8 bars, rigged in a gas engine compression gauge, and didn't get any pressure when starting the engine beyond what the electric pump in the fuel tank creates. The mechanic at the parts store said he's seen this before. At least my friend there is getting me the replacement pump for 75€ less than list price. Praying that is all that's wrong.

I'm glad it was just the bed that broke, and not arms or legs on any of the kids. The polyurethane glue is holding everything together, at least for sleeping on the bed, and hopefully the kids "got it" that they shouldn't make those jumps.

Rainy still-- worst weather to have with kids full of energy. My wife wants me to setup the trampoline again in one room-- will lose most of the room, but kids will get out energy.

Poured first cup of coffee. 26° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 32° with slight chance of some sun. Yesterday was a busy inside day. Did my Christmas shopping. Mostly gift cards. Cleaned coffee maker and pot. Coffee taste so much better today. Spent over 1 hour on hold with SSA and a place I made a order at. Got both issues resolved. Should make a trip to local SSA office to get another issue resolved. But up to wife if she wants to get out in the chilly weather. Counting down the days to Dr. visit to get rid of the arm brace. 2. Got 4 Dr. visits this week. all 4 of them in same building but not on same day. :confused3: Todays plan. Rest up for doctor visits.

Drew, you had a POT heaven. :D I see several that my wife would take off your hands.

Ed. prayers for you to feel better.

Hawkeye, rest for the back. I use a wet heating pad. Better for me than any med or other therapy.

Buppies, bad arm and a big job. Be careful.

Eric, nice picture.

Andrew, you should have known better than to tell the kids NO. :smiley_aafz: Good clamp repair.

Prayers for All.

Good Morning All.
