50 acre brush fire broke out very close to home still burning 20 percent contained in very mountainous terrain. Too close for comfort

Be safe there.

My day ended much different than anticipated. Wife’s hip pain was bothersome this morning so she made an ortho appointment and I went on errands myself.
I came back to find her nearly in tears from the pain and wondering if maybe a trip to the ER was in order. She couldn’t get an Ortho appointment until 4/24. I agreed and off we went to the hospital where the ortho has privileges rather than the closer one. Almost no wait, less than 2 minutes from the time I wheeled her in. She’s already in their system so checkin was easy. History taken, Dr exam, IV drugs administered. While drugs were taking effect the hospital pharmacist walks in, having seen her name on the order. Rich is a good friend. Probably doesn’t hurt for the staff to see you are friends with the help.
The CatScan lady showed up to do her thing. We did bring our two dogs, not our cat, but guess she had her own.
Dr returned and assured her hip didn’t showed new damage, I had brought her X-rays from a few weeks ago, that her problem was muscles. No fix per se, just time and working thru it, possibly PT. He did 2 prescriptions, muscle relaxant and pain. Not too bad, in and out in about 2 hours. Have taken longer for a scheduled appointment. Filled the prescriptions at pharmacy close to hospital as I doubted we’d make Hilo Walmart in time. Back home, wife resting somewhat comfortably.

This was the end of 5 weeks on my weight plan. Lost 14.9 lbs. maybe not a significant amount but one I’m happy with. Will be making some adjustments with idea to keep it off and slowly lose a bit more.

41 right now...high....well, that's about today's high too. Looks like an inch or two of wet snow, then a 10th of an inch of ice coming in today.
I'd like to run up to Randolph and get a haircut, but I doubt I go anywhere. Other plans...not really.

27 and going down to a high of 25. Wind NNE 13 gusting 22 mph. 30% chance of snow.
Forecast for Sunday AND Monday is snow! Another foot of it.

txdon; whoever is running that hoe has bigger balls than me.

A buddy of mine had a Cat 235 track hoe that he was stripping the top cover off a gravel pit, he was attached to a D 8 via a cable to keep him from toppling over the face of the pit. Now IMHO, I think that is just plain nuts!

sodamo; do you have legal MJ or at least medical MJ in Hawaii? It might be a better way to go rather than liver destroying drugs. Just a thought.

Happy Saturday all

Actually we do have medical MJ, but I don’t know much about it. Actually my wife brought it up a couple days ago as her sister was telling her about a friend who acquires some sort of MJ topical in CO and brings it back to AZ. I googled briefly, but didn’t learn much of value. Likely my own ignorance.

It's dry this morning and only a single cloud in the sky. Pity that cloud streches from horizon to horizon. Even so it is a vast improvement over the last few weeks and we may reach the gidy heights of 14C/57F by this afternoon. The diesel store is empty, so I better order a fill up ready for when the ground dries out, though I guess that it going to take a few days.

Eric, are sheep inquisitive, dumb or both?
Drew, you know the expressions "curiosity killed the cat" and "like a cat with 9 lives" ? Lambs would be just like cats - if only they had 8 more spare lives.

L4N, didn't expect you to be on here so early. Are you eager to get started, or have you already been digging holes by moonlight ?

David, we knew that you had great weather and lifestyle. Now we hear your paradise island has fantastic medical service too. You got to keep it quieter, or it will get way too overcrowded by envious incomers. :) Hope Raggedy Ann is having a better day today.

Uhmmmm, were you and you're wife gardening about 9 months ago per chance???.... (You don't have to answer my cracky joke)....

Hmmm... unfortunately the garden is down by the house and the neighbor has a clear view on it, so the only seeds sown in the garden are vegetables. :-D

Huge pile of branches from pruning and taking down some old plums was converted to chips yesterday, mostly by my father in law manning the chipper. Half of the hill of dirt is gone, just got some beds in our garden and a neighbor's rotovated, and now I've got to dig out the Goldoni trailer as I got it stuck dumping the soil yesterday.

Andrew I bet you are having a lot of fun with that tractor.
The horns on that ram are impressive, would not want to be on receiving end.
Are you getting any sleep? Or do you have this new baby thing down pat?

The Gap Band - You Dropped A Bomb On Me - YouTube

another wonderful day of international peace.............

going foodshopping early, then helper comes and we mulch flower beds that never got done late last year due to running out of mulch.
This is where his dump trailer has really been handy, and no wrecked lawns from big dump trucks.

Another warm day, then storms on Sunday and high winds. Am afraid of planting the okra because it's all tall and spindly.
That does not do well with 25mph winds whistling through those fields. It's been strong enough to knock beans over, at least the one
35mph day we had. Seems to be a breezy Spring.

Later today on hands and knees weeding the beet rows, and then will reseed them. Would be easier to just rototill the whole thing again but I saw some survivors
from my transplanting in there so I'm going to see how many of them are really there. If I don't find enough, the tiller is coming out.
When beets are done, then on to reseeding carrots. But I'm waiting until after this big rain storm coming. Last time a storm washed all the seeds away.

Hope you all have a nice weekend, are on the mend where needed.
