Andrew I bet you are having a lot of fun with that tractor.
The horns on that ram are impressive, would not want to be on receiving end.
Are you getting any sleep? Or do you have this new baby thing down pat?

That's just one of the goats. :) We have an 8 year old billy goat. He has the impressive horns. Sadly, he got some injury to his nerves last year by deer brain worm. While a dose of copper sulfate killed the worms, it left him a bit less stable, so his primary duty of impregnating the goats can't be fulfilled. There is this option though: How to Cook Chanfana or Portuguese Goat Roast/Stew | Delishably or he may just get to hang around awhile anyway to scare away any would be thieves.

Couch in the room next to the bedroom isn't that comfortable, but my wife needs me within earshot to deal with the other kids when inevitably they need some water or go pee and are scared to walk across the house alone at night, etc.

Poured first cup of coffee. 37° with rain this morning. Heading to 38° with continued rain. May get some freezing rain overnight. Going to be cold and wet here next couple of days. Not much planned today. Lawn has turned green in many places. Need to put remove snowblower and install deck on lawnmower on to-do list.

David, hope your wife is feeling better.

Andrew, use your tractor to get trailer out.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Just drive it like an old bull dozer .... let out the clutch and one foot on each brake pedal.

Or ... just fix it Randy! You choose? I’ll bet it’s an easy fix though.
I use to operate a John Deere dozer that had foot brakes and hand clutches and you had the hydraulics that needed operating, you quickly ran out of limbs!
It probably needs a steering box, common issue with these. I was moving wet dirt all day and wasn’t doing it any favors.

Busy day, kids from Front Royal came in last night, the rest will be here today. Ballgame at 10, opening day for a Little League. Give blood st 11.
Then the big dinner at 6 where Ellen and I and all the kids and grandkids gather for dinner together.
Both our sons are fine, daughters both say it’s “Weird” that we are dating or whatever you call it. My daughter has come around pretty well, hers is getting there.

Also a trip to the hereafter digs for Lynn and me so they can approve.

Prayers for David’s wife and Ed and all in need.

Good morning! Thunderstorms sent Whipper inside last night and temps dropped. We are at 56˚ this morning after 83˚ yesterday afternoon. Wind from the North. Too dark to see the rain gauge but at least and inch.

Mom called around 7PM with no water and she had called 6 numbers with no results. She thought it might be her line but she couldn't walk the 600 yards to check her meter. I did a little "I told you so" speech about getting a golf cart and started to head over there when she called back. On her 7th call she found the answer. Yes Ron, it was a cousin's fault. He hit the water line several miles away digging fence post holes and many were without water. Mom said they should have it fixed soon so that saved me a trip. I need to head over there this morning and take her heavy trash to the once every 3 months for 3 hours free dumpster provided by the county.

Definition of "Heavy Trash" - That which cannot be burned or recycled excluding tires, building/fencing materials, batteries and hazardous waste.

The BH pic was not that risky it was the camera angle, the tractor would not have turned over more than twice.

David, glad your wife found some relief, hope PT helps. I also lost 16 lbs the last 5 weeks finally back into the one sixties.

65 out this AM. There has been a red flag warning up in our area since last week. Not surprised about your fires Buppies. Hope it is under control and the winds are favorable to you.

May go for a hike around Bear Fence today, that ring a bell for you Buppies?

I need to get those panels back up on the shed today too.

Also yesterday, after 12 years, I finally started on the last of the two remodeling projects. The front porch. It is enclosed and has drywall and carpet. I started with the drywall ceiling. Cut the room in half for dust purposes and started chipping away to reveal the original bead board. Got about a 1/4 of the way done and ran into a big hole that they used for pushing up insulation under the roof. Now I have a good 2X3 area of original wood missing. Probably like that on the other side of the room too.

I am debating whether to hang new "paneling" type bead board up over the mess. Or continue on removing the drywall in the hopes I can find a pattern match at a reclaimers. Since the house was built in 1920, I doubt I will be lucky enough to find the wood I need. It's real bead board up there, looks like 4 inch wide planks.

And things were moving along so well until I found the hole. Wahhhh..........

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe!

Prayers for all!

Thanks I need to take a ride this morning

The joys of remodeling never know where the next surprise is

I think you are referring to my visitor last year. The fire is where he and his friends live so he might make a early visit this year. BlackDog Salvage might have what you are looking for. They seem to have lots of stuff like that

Before my 1st cup of coffee even, we got a notice that the university is closing due to a freezing rain warning here in Toronto. It is the final exam period now, which means that all exams that were scheduled today have been canceled, including my daughter's final exam in one of her courses. BUMMER! She says all of the stuff that she studied for is now going to leak out of her brain, and she'll have to study it all over again.

43 degrees with a stout northerly breeze going for a high of 60 today. And I've been trying to get Quicken Deluxe 2018 installed and working. I've used Quicken for more than 30 years, and I do believe that each new version is worse than the preceding one. Of course I'm sure they'd say that's just because I don't understand.

A little cooler this morning 12*, yesterday was in the low 30's with a light snow all day. They are saying today will be mostly sunny and in the low 50's. But that is what they said about yesterday. Hope their right this time.

There wasn't enough snow to move yesterday morning so I just pulled the sled around to pack it down.

Just found out that a couple of friends from North Carolina drew cow elk tags for a hunt this fall. I'll be looking forward to that. This one will be a camping trip for a week in November. I told them to bring some warm clothes.

Not much going on today.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
CWB.

My day ended much different than anticipated. Wife’s hip pain was bothersome this morning so she made an ortho appointment and I went on errands myself.
I came back to find her nearly in tears from the pain and wondering if maybe a trip to the ER was in order. She couldn’t get an Ortho appointment until 4/24. I agreed and off we went to the hospital where the ortho has privileges rather than the closer one. Almost no wait, less than 2 minutes from the time I wheeled her in. She’s already in their system so checkin was easy. History taken, Dr exam, IV drugs administered. While drugs were taking effect the hospital pharmacist walks in, having seen her name on the order. Rich is a good friend. Probably doesn’t hurt for the staff to see you are friends with the help.
The CatScan lady showed up to do her thing. We did bring our two dogs, not our cat, but guess she had her own.
Dr returned and assured her hip didn’t showed new damage, I had brought her X-rays from a few weeks ago, that her problem was muscles. No fix per se, just time and working thru it, possibly PT. He did 2 prescriptions, muscle relaxant and pain. Not too bad, in and out in about 2 hours. Have taken longer for a scheduled appointment. Filled the prescriptions at pharmacy close to hospital as I doubted we’d make Hilo Walmart in time. Back home, wife resting somewhat comfortably.
Hope your wifey gets better quickly.

Hmmm... unfortunately the garden is down by the house and the neighbor has a clear view on it, so the only seeds sown in the garden are vegetables. :-D

You might want to build a privacy fence. Just watch out for drones.... :)

I have that same problem.

Lots of lightning and thunder last night. They actually mentioned Fedor (Don's area) to explain the proximity of a bad thunder cell was.

Going to a kid's birthday party today.

Hope all of you have a blessed, fulfilling day.

I forgot to mention earlier that we had a brief but heavy downpour yesterday that started before 5 p.m., hail started at 5:05 p.m. and it was all over by 5:15 p.m. I got just about an even half inch of rain. It blew all the way through the breezeway patio, and lots of leaves down in the yard, in the street, etc. We needed the rain, and I'm hoping the hail was small enough that it did no damage.

Good morning to all! Wind finally done! YEA! . Even the pups had a hard time yesterday going outside. There were a few times it was a total brown out... Could only see for about 100 ft because of all the dust. Really thought there was going to be more damage, luckily none found. Only reached a high of 45 yesterday, went down to 23 last night, today back up to 68. A lot of the trees/ shrubs that just popped leaves are all wilted now. Of course the fruit trees had bloomed just a few days ago so probably no fruit again this year.

David, do some serious research into CBD oil for your wife. My Mrs has severe osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc /joint disease, and the debilitating pain associated w/ all of them. Over the early years dealing with it, it was determined she couldn't tolerate any of the usual prescribed meds, plus the possibility of severe side effects from them. She cannot take any type of narcotics, has severe reactions to them. She had once been given 2mg of morphine... Within 5 minutes she stopped breathing and almost went into cardiac arrest. Anyway, she started taking CBD oil 3-4 months ago. I'm not exaggerating when I say she was rejuvenated to what she was 10 years ago. The initial improvement was within 4-5 days, and has since been more gradual , but still improving over the past few months. At times before she began the treatment, she could hardly walk in the mornings, let alone anything else. Now she sometimes gets up and begins cleaning, laundry, etc... I have to tell her to slow down and take a break! If you would like more info, give me a PM and we'll go from there.

Andrew, looks like the tractor is really being a back saver for you. So, your actually raising "guard goats"?:D

Ed, it's always good to do something to clear our heads. Brings back some assembly of order to all the craziness. ....especially if you get to do it on a tractor:D

Don, glad you didn't have to go out and search for the problem w/ the waterline and the cause of the issue was known. ...she probably doesn't want to get the golf cart because she then wouldn't have an excuse to call you! :D

Drew, just till those beets over...start again. Oh, and don't breath to hard when planting the carrot seeds...they might be gone again..

RIP.. Depends on what your after.. I've used the beadboard panels on the ceiling and once painted, looks really good, almost like true beadboard. Goes up a whole lot easier too.

Everyone have a great day, prayers sent out.

Don, how much would it cost for you to say goodby to the beadboard? I will be building a "20's" style cottage and true beadboard would be nice to use. Do you have an approx. sq.ft. amount you have? Not sure where you are at in "central Texas", but would be a nice road trip for us.
