19 right now...high in the low 30's today. I cleared the drive as best I could with the tractor/snow blower last night. It's not completely bare, but I'm hoping most melts and evaporates the next couple days so we don't get re-freeze on Saturday

31 going to 46...got to almost 60 yesterday, but some snow survived, to give wife proof we had some when she arrived home yesterday.

Happy Birthday, RS! Good to hear The Squeak is up to some mischief.

Buppies, are you gonna connect your new weather station to Weather Underground?

Randy, is today tractor day?

Ron, real nice chipper.

Jbrumberg, glad I didn't have to get out on the roof after the last storm. Glad you got it fixed.

Good morning all, 32 this morning going to 45. NWS calling for 30% chance of freezing drizzle this morning, then mostly cloudy. Took it easy yesterday, need to take mo to Dr this afternoon and get groceries this morning.

RS, Happy Birthday.

Praying everyone feels better soon. Ed

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 27° with light fog this morning. Heading to 44° with chance of rain. Going to try clearing snow off roof. Still about a foot of snow in most places up there. Still need to get up on roof and modify furnace exhaust. Beyond that not much planned.
Hope all are feeling better. Prayers.
Good Morning All.

32 going up to 57 today, and 69 tomorrow! :dance1: (course I'd better not dance on the ice...)

headed downtown to pay for my Super A tires and install, then load up the truck with the old rusted out rims and old tires, I'll look
like a real Sanford & Son, and take them over to my neighbor who needs the tires badly. Then the expensive part, headed six blocks down the street to the
Kubota dealer, and pay the balance on my new lawn mower, and figure out when they are going to deliver it. I don't even have a place it will fit yet...:(
which means today is moving day. Something has to move... and pretty sure it will be the tracvac. You all know how big those things are, hog up a lot of room.
This of course means I have to address the worst parts of my storage, so I can get an implement or two into that space, then I'm moving chess pieces around.
Guess I need another shed...been a busy year.

thinking like an rv site here, ok, plows and discs, which one of you gets the basic covered shed dirt sites, and which ones of you get the deluxe concrete pads? And for no extra cost, some of you get electric included? How am I doing Ron...:D
Basically I'm putting light stuff in the dirt, and heavier items mostly on rolling platforms like Ron's chipper on the concrete. That's the plan... I am so tired of yanking on a crow bar trying to install a heavy implement sitting on dirt, am truly getting too old for this. So...brains over brawn, rolling implement holders. Lots of guys here have them, I haven't made any custom ones yet, squeaking by with redi-mades which can get precarious if the implement fall off.

of course I do like that idea of one tractor per implement. Seems sensible to me. '

The most important thing I have to do today is go take soil samples in the veggie field area and take them down to the feed store
where we will decide whether or not I need lime. My understanding is that if you don't get the PH right, you can lose
a large part of fertilizer's effectiveness. I don't have any distilled water at home so i guess I have to go buy a jug when I go out.
Guy said do not use tap water for tests.

I can help with part of your dilemma. Have the new mower delivered to my place.:D I will make sure is capable of doing the job. While I am checking it out you can have another barn built with concrete floor. Big enough for all your tractors and mowers.
I think we should be able to trade our old buildings in like a car. Then have correct size building installed that we should have had in the first place. Instead of having 3 buildings I should have built one building 40'X100'14' high.
My neighbor followed my advice. His building is 40'X60' X14'. It is full. He needs an addition. He does not own a tractor or any of it's attachments.

18 and going to a high of 30. 60% chance of snow/freezing rain by this afternoon. Wind S 16 mph gusting to 25.

I got the driveway all cleaned up from the past 2 or 3 piddly snowfalls. Inch here and an inch there.

The DIL came home and sounds better than she was when she left. She has nothing but praise for the Bracebridge hospital, even down to the food which she says is great, with lots of it. What she hasn't said is how the tea is.
She now has 3 small O2 bottles (good for about 3 hours each), 2 larger bottles (good for about 7 hours each) and a O2 generator for the house. Her O2 levels when resting/sitting are about 98% and when moving around they drop to 85%. This O2 generator doesn't like to run on an extension cord, so I am wondering how it will do on a genny.

The Jeep goes in for a new oil pan today, it was supposed to go in on Monday but the new pump wasn't here yet. There is not a high output oil pump to be found anywhere in Canada, so I will have to settle for stock. We are refilling the oil with 5W30 synthetic.

That is it for today, stay safe all

Good morning. Quite a pleasant change to our weather, dry, sunny and several degrees above freezing.

I have been waiting since the last snow fall for the young man to return with his post knocker and pound in some more fence posts and he's back today - while I'm 80 miles away. I hope they all go in the right place, if not pulling out a few 4" posts is easy, however 8' x 8" strainers don't take quite so kindly to being re-positioned.

Still cleaning up the mess from yesterday.......dropping the trees is the fun part......bucking the branches and clean up makes my back hurt.

Me too jerrybob. Best of all is those few seconds immediately after the trunk hits the ground - when I realize I'm still alive :)
