Good morning!!!!

WOW! A balmy 20 this morning and going to a high of 18F. Wind WNW 8 mph. Mainly sunny. Tomorrow there is nasty talk of freezing rain.

Eric, DIL and hospital talking about cutting her loose today, with a O2 bottle. I already told the step-son that the upstairs woodstove would be staying where it is until after I die, then I wouldn't care what he did with it. I may not be able to burn it, but it will stay, mainly because I am too cheap to replace it.

A woman 15 miles away called me up wanting me to go clean out her drive way. I turned her down. 15 miles at 6mph would take me the better part of almost 2.5 hours to get to her and then the clean out time and another 2.5 hours to get back home is way too much travel time. We also have to keep in mind that there is no insurance on the tractor off my property.

You guys all have a safe day.

29° and sun coming out.

Watched the game, wanted them both to lose, but was rooting for dawgs.

Need to clean out pellet stove again, will turn it off later today.

High 30's next couple days, then hit 50's at end of week, before going below freezing next sunday, but not as cold as it's been.

L4N, hope your DIL gets better soon. Sounds like you have your hands full.

Cars for Sale: Used 26 Dodge Viper SRT-1 for sale in Markham, VA 22643: Convertible Details - 45315988 - Autotrader

Waiting for things to warm up a bit then headed downtown.
was killing time online looking at Vipers, and funny one was owned by a brother's neighbor.
I told him anyone who took a pic of his car next to his tractor had to be alright with me.
Nice car, convertible, easy to get in. Impossible to get out. Brutal to drive.
Sweaty palms and armpits when you get home, big grin on your face even if you did get a ticket.
Corvette is a much better car in all respects but the Viper looks cooler. The definition of bad ***.
Am told it's very uncomfortable.
Would love to drive it, want a stick.
I sent this to my brother and asked him to ask his neighbor if he wanted a James Bond Jag sedan in trade.

The sensible side of me says get rid of the third car and get the Outback into the garage where it belongs.
Nothing like scraping ice to remind you of how nice a garage is.

We put our honda in garage yesterday. Rarely goes in. We ended up with little ice here, the worst was when we came home from the doctors yesterday. At least that's my view from the layzboy.

Drew me thinks a Porsche Cayman would fit the bill for safety handling and they are Porsche the most affordable foreign sports car to maintain. Mid mount engine excellent handling to say the least but not a convertible. Foreign Cars Italia a good place to lookif interested

30°F and light fog this morning, going up to 41° today. Feels positively balmy around here compared to the last two weeks. May get some snow this Friday.

Talked to the guy at Fishbone Bass Guitars last night, and my bass is working again. Fixed a few things that had gone awry. He also offered to let me bring it back after the current recording is done, and they will upgrade some of the electronics, as well as sand it down and apply a new finish. They have a new hand-rubbed finish coat they are making themselves now derived from plant extracts. They do all of this work for free on their instruments. Of course, I always pay them anyway. Great guys making great instruments. Looking forward to picking it up tonight.

1.5" of snow fell last night wth the frontal passage. 30F presently and I anticipate the first above freezing day since around Christmas.

The ceiling closest to the stovepipe flashing is starting to show me evidence of water this AM = roof ice damming = shoveling off the living room roof today. Fortunately the roof is pretty flat.

I may get a tan on the roof

It's a warmer 34* this morning. Today is going to be in the mid 40* with chance of snow and or rain showers in the afternoon. It might last tell the morning.

I had a couple of appointments yesterday. So don't know what the weather was like here at the house. I have one more appointment today, so I don't have anything planned.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

At least those wires are clearly visible, unlike the fence wire and staple I found yesterday, buried inside an old hawthorn. I should have expected it as I had just treated the Stihl to a new chain and it thanked me yet again by finding steel before it had time to drink a single tank of fuel :confused3:

I wonder if passing an electronic stud finder over the cutting area would reveal the presence of embedded metal? Be worth a try, if you could just figure out which one to pick...

Sunshine tomorrow then temps going up to upper 40's to low 50's over the weekend with rain Friday and Saturday.
RS wife finds you fish tank project interesting and I need to keep her updated on your project she is anxious to see finished project photos. I did have yo tell her Not to get any Ideas, she has all the fish she needs in the lake.
Drew nice car but wouldn't a new tractor be more fun?
Bird I know what it's like finding the ice in uniform, one midnight shift was at a car accident stepped out or the cruiser ice under foot and landed on weapon side, hip was bruised up and walked like Chester on Gunsmoke for weeks.
Rip hope trip home went smoothly and wife is doing better

65°F and .06 inches rain.

First a trip to transfer station to unload the truck, stop at PO then continue cleanup.

Why do smokers have such an obnoxious attitude??? It sure doesn’t endear them. Smoking in the bathroom because you can’t be seen doesn’t make you better than me when you’ve been told of the no smoking rules ☹️🤬

Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 8:30 AM. Overcast with rain showers at times. High 56F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 50%.

2.13" of rain in the last 24 hours, pretty much a constant, light shower but some heavier rain overnight. It's supposed to become more intermittent today and tomorrow. Lots of road closures in the Santa Barbara area due to mudslides off the burn areas. Some evacuations and lost houses, too.

Hope Rip and his wife made it home safely. There's no place like home...

Power finally came on yesterday at around 3 PM. In addition to replacing the pole at the top of the property, the power company replaced the cross tie at the top of the pole that feeds my house; didn't take them long. Having the power out for a day is a good reminder of how much we take electricity for granted. And a good test of how well we'd do at keeping warm and feeding ourselves if the power went off for a longer time, especially with all this talk of the North Koreans popping an EMP nuke over the West Coast.

Got some reading done, and sorted through an eighteen inch high stack of magazines, throwing out older versions, making shelf space for the new. Some, like the American Rifleman, get added to the collection. I have every one, going back to the '30s. Too dark to work in the garage, so nothing done on the old bike. It was dark in the kitchen, too, dark enough that I poured boiling water onto my left hand trying to fill a coffee cup. Fished a cold wrap out of the freezer right away, and got away with a light sunburn feeling this morning. Very lucky on that one. I heated the next batch of water using an old Revere Ware tea kettle. Much safer to pour.

Back to the insurance search this morning, then maybe some bike work this afternoon.

31F and WeatherBug says mostly sunny @ CAK @ 12:00 ... but all I see are clouds.

Did not work on dishwasher yesterday, The Woman did not want the "additional activity" in the kitchen while she was in there cooking and cleaning. I think she could care less whether it gets fixed or not ... as she prefers to wash them by hand. I don't however.

I did get the front glass mostly cleaned off on a couple of tanks - still have a little to go to really finish that up - and 4 fish tank filters cleaned (overdue from the looks of it), but still a few more to go on those as well. Still need to do some partial water changes on a couple of tanks and then draw more water to do a change on the 55G tank. Also got some work done down in the basement.

May be a good day to make the run to Menards since it isn't precipitatin', probably run by Lowes (for paint) and The Depot (new circular saw blade) while I'm out. Or not.

Today marks one more trip around the sun for me ...

new rims for my EMP proof Super A came in today, so second trip downtown with truck and moved them to tire shop.
Nice that they were US made rims.

Happy Birthday RS!

Our sunny day turned into snowy day pretty quick. I did get the driveway plowed this morning.

The DIL is on her way home with a oxygen bottle. I will pass on the prayers.

Kitchen taps got replaced and I got to read the Moen guarantee. As long as I own the house they were installed in I get free cartridges. According to the guarantee, it doesn't matter if I install them or get a plumber to do it. With the exception of the laundry taps the whole house is Moen.

45F right now.......very light drizzle........will get some rain and get into low 50's. Still cleaning up the mess from yesterday.......dropping the trees is the fun part......bucking the branches and clean up makes my back hurt.
