41°F and light fog again this morning, going up to 55° today. They say we'll hit 61° tomorrow before the bottom falls out and we drop back to normal winter temps tomorrow night. Rain tomorrow, and maybe some snow as the temps fall down into the teens.

Buckeye, did you check to see if new receiver needs an update?
.

No, didnt think of that, thanks.

I put the receiver under my tv, stereo is too far away to reach the other components right now.

Anyone know if receiver is supposed to get the audio from the hdmi, as it comes in from components, and not returned from the ARC link, or optical audio to the tv?
My understanding ARC is only to get the TV audio since it has no input. I need to order an optical audio cable

25° planning on going to work for a couple hrs today.

45 for a low this morning going for a high of 56, cloudy, and a little foggy. And I'm just about to leave to take my elderly neighbor to do his grocery shopping.

It's overcast this morning and 34*, today is going to be in the high 30's with a chance of lite snow and wind. They are saying less then a inch of snow.

Happy birthday.... rswyan

Plan on staying in the house most of the day.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

productive but disappointing morning. Got all four new tires and their rims to the Kubota dealer, so they can finally start dismantling the Super A.
Time tested method requires the tires to be on to keep the whole thing from falling over after they crack the tractor in half.
The not so good part was so much time took place getting the rims that the tire place screwed up and threw out all four of my old tires by mistake.
Owner apologetic but that was it...two rears were almost new, 20 years ago, and I had promised them to my neighbor. Well, he's so pickled maybe he doesn't remember.
I like to keep my promises as most of us do.

And I believe they will be delivering my Kubota F mower this afternoon. I need to call them back and tell them to offload out on the road.
Lawn is too wet from the snow to drive a truck and trailer on it for sure. He's dropping off my mower and taking back my UTV for service.

Now I really have to move that tracvac to make room, and there's still snow down by the barn.
Watch me get the new mower stuck in the snow...that would be a good picture.

+3F earlier this AM. It has warmed to 6F. It's supposed to get above freezing today; hopefully longer than yesterday's ~ 30 minutes. Possible freezing rain/frizzle tonight as the first "warm" front arrives..... Possible 50F temperatures around here late week. The predicted end of the week rain event will probably end with freezing/frozen precipitation as the next following cold front rolls in.. Typical NE weather.

Good morning to enjoy the smells of freshly ground coffee beans and drip coffee. And wait for temperatures to get a little warmer so I can split some cordwood 1/4's down to kindling size with the electric wood splitter. My only other planned activities are harassing those fat grey squirrels at the bird feeders and feed the wood stove. No red squirrels this year?. One less mourning dove yesterday = a successful catch by a red shouldered hawk.

Rswyan- Although we have not been formally introduced; I wish you a belated birthday. I hope your expectations were met, or even better exceeded.

Wngsprd- I do not enjoy going out on that roof even with low pitch angle. The old beat up, bent roof rake could not keep up with the ice buildup working from terra firma. I have to figure out a better way to seal that stovepipe flashing leak. It's my only problem area.

Have a good one everyone. Enjoy the day.

Fixed the dvr problem, but not sure i'm going to keep the receiver. Played a blu ray thru it, and it kept dropping video and audio.

Check your HDMI cables. Newer components use the newer versions of the HDMI standard that support higher transmission speeds. I have one of these that I hope will take care of a problem in my system:

Amazon.com: Mediabridge HDMI Cable (1 Feet) Supports 4K@6Hz, High Speed, Hand-Tested, HDMI 2. Ready, 18Gbps, Audio Return Channel: Electronics

Same cable, hooked direct to TV works fine. Cable came with the bluray.
But i did order 2 more hdmi cables, and fiber for sound, from amazon.

Do all hdmi cables support ARC? On the link you posted, i noticed they specifically mention ARC.
