Old cartoons are the best...need some grand kids so I'll have an excuse to watch. :)

When we get to a certain age in life, don't you find we can get away with really feeble excuses ?
You can watch a few cartoons now and call it practicing to be a good grandparent :) You need to be able to distinguish between "New" Tom & Jerry and the much better quality old ones.

55 out this AM. Should be a nice day for more yard work. My burn pile is getting large again.
Have a great day all. Be safe.

Fairly windy here this AM as a front comes thru from the north.

I still don't have a new roof. Waiting for contractor to re submit a bid from another sub.

My sister bought her a snazzy new Camaro. She just likes a sporty looking car, not the horsepower. She opted for the new turbo 4 cylinder in it. It is not quite as big or powerful as Ford's 2.3L turbo they put in the mustang. GM's is only 2.0L and is down about 25 horsepower from Ford's engine. I hope she likes it. She is selling me her 2012 Altima.

Enjoy the day all.

another warm day, 62 going up to 81 today with a lot of rain coming in tonight and through tomorrow, almost two inches predicted. Sure hope that's not more snow for up North...

going to load my JD garden tractor on trailer and haul it off to dealer, first time I've needed to do that in the three years I've owned it. Somehow the deck lift adjustment got jammed/bent, and no matter of contortions with two men could get the adjuster to let the deck down. Jammed tight at setting of 4. I think I hit something during travel off a field where the deck got pushed up, and seems to be jammed. Hydraulic lift would not move at all.
Oh well....will be interesting to see what the dealer charges to fix this. I have 400 hours on the unit, not much else needed; pretty simple shaft drive machine. At less than three years old, the hydraulic oil isn't likely to need changing; I'll ask what normally gets done at 500 hours.

all the azaleas and dogwoods are starting to bloom and it's really pretty out. So much pollen though, will be glad when the pine trees stop sending their "love" everywhere...

Good Morning! 55F @ 5:30AM. Mostly cloudy skies. High 68F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Old hand drawn cartoons are the best. Lots of slapstick humor, great sound effects, little if any PC content. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies from the '40s, '50s & '60s are my favorites, especially roadrunner and coyote. You can never outgrow a great cartoon!

Nice warm day with little wind yesterday, good time to do some painting. There were some brackets and another wing window pivot to paint black, and a pair of covers for the mirror stalks and the VW grill emblem to be done in blue. In between coats I removed the wrinkled and torn plastic covering from the old headliner and upper bunk bead boards in preparation for applying the puffy cloud blue sky tapestry cloth being used for headliner. Also rounded up some tools and found the clip board I've been keeping notes on, and loaded it all into the truck for the trip to town today. Mixed up a batch of white bed liner to coat the repaired fiberglass luggage carrier, and used an old soup can for a paint reservoir instead of waiting for the proper cans to come in. Worked fine as the gun relies on suction instead of pressure to feed, but I had to be careful not to spill it. Installing it on the van will be job #1 today to avoid any more "accidents". Also bent up a bracket to mount the vehicle tracking device and hope to get that installed as well.

Happy Hump Day gang!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 60° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with mostly sunny skies. Wife's doctor visit went well. Need to start washing motor home down. Everything is covered with dust. It turned to mud after 2 minutes of light rain Monday night. Still picking up palm branches from same storm.
Good Morning All.

The Camaro is lighter and quicker though. She should like it, the 335 h.p. V6 is a bit quicker and smoother, but my son has the 2.0 turbo in his Saturn Sky, great engine.
The Mustang: 310 hp and 320 lb-ft. (The Firebird, in case you were wondering, made 305 hp and 335 lb-ft.) The Camaro hits 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and runs a 13.9-second quarter mile at 101.0 mph, and the Mustang, 230 pounds heavier, needs 6.3 seconds for the former and 14.5 seconds for the latter at 98.0 mph. Welcome to the future.

It ain't the old Iron Duke vs Pinto motor that's for sure!

Congrats on the weight loss! You have inspired me. Got on the scales this morning and was down a couple more pounds, just over 9lbs total now.

My middle daughter flew in from Maryland yesterday for my grand daughter's 3rd birthday party this weekend. Wife and other daughter kept it a secret so had a nice surprise. She is here for long weekend..

55°F and rain this morning, going up to 63° and more rain most of the day. Storm woke me at 01:45 this morning. Very flashy/boomy.

New bedroom furniture arrived this morning. Wife sent me pictures, and they look darker than I remembered from the in-store color samples. Supposed to be a light-to-medium oak, but look more medium-to-dark to me. She seems happy with them, though, so there's that. We got two gentleman's chests and two matching nightstands. They are Amish-made, so I expect the quality will not be an issue.

Hush bro. We gotta keep him thinking he's alone in this world. It's good for his sanity.
 Oh, man ... you have no idea. Most days I feel like an island.

65°F and .23 inches rain last 24 hours.

New internet arrived yesterday. Just set up on dining table with the internal antenna and performance is way better than my current provider. Impressed. Got the new mast mostly up yesterday. Today will finish mast, run the wiring, and install the two Yagi antenna. Make have to tweak the router settings, but I'm looking forward to being impressed. Unfortunately, they didn't send a sim for the cottage router, waiting on how that will be resolved. CS says I need two service accounts, but that was not my discussion with the salesman who told me I could run both with same account. Hopefully just a communication issue and I get the 2nd sim soon.

Be safe.
Have a great day.

Very interesting,, and fast for a 4 banger. I noted Ford's 2.3 weighed the same as their v6

Man PJ, I'm starting to wonder what you did wrong for your wifey to be getting all this new stuff....Just kidding. None of my bees wax.

Talk about islands. I order the stock. Saw it. Program. Turn. Mill. Debur. Clean. And QC. And sometimes play the radio at the same time too. :). And most of the time I get to put my .02 in on the design.

She inherited the house and 5 of the 17 acres when her Grandmother died last year. We had planned for several years to make some serious repairs when that happened, and once we got a notion of what needed to be done, we decided a complete remodel was in order. Yeah, she's getting a lot of new stuff, but I got a new tractor last fall, looking to upgrade my old motorcycle (not a new Goldwing ... at $30K ... but a newer one than the '85 I have now), and will be converting one of the basement bedrooms into a new home recording studio when the walkout basement is remodeled in a couple of months. I'm not exactly on the outside looking in. ;)

The only things I ever really do wrong are a) not get dirty dishes into the dishwasher fast enough, and b) not get clean laundry put away fast enough. Other than that, she thinks I'm the cats meow ... and I'm not about to tell her any different.

I'm sorry to bust your bubble but she's letting you think that she thinks you are the cat's meow.

44 and raining here, a bit of wind. Good day to be inside. Worked on my drywall project again. I am really slow on getting it done, but it is coming along.

PJ, I worked in QA for 30 years. It's kinda like the foreign legion, march or die, professionally.

Drew, if you search on this site, you will find threads on PHD storage, including dollies. I built one, a pic of it is on here somewhere, that I can roll right up to my tractor, and not have to lift anything. The hardest thing in my setup is hooking up the pto shaft. I made it out of wood, and harbor freight casters.
