Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 44 to start going to 60, with mostly sunny skies !

Mostly, I have to go see him twice a year or I can’t get my meds signed off through Medicare ! I get 90 day supply at a time.

RS, nice foliage shots and great work on disassembling the valve body ! Looks like plenty of parts, reminds me of when I rebuilt the hydraulic touch control unit on my Farmall Super A !

Ron, nice picture of the wild flowers !

Gas at Cumberland Farms in Ct yesterday was :$3.49, so not too bad, but not like Dons prices !

All have a safe and blessed day !

Good morning, the low is 35 and going to a high of 52°F. Wind N 5 mph. Partly sunny/partly cloudy depending on how you look at things.

One of the two remaining tarps WILL go up today, after the dump run.
IF I feel ambitious I will do the other tarp.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

45.1F going to low 60s, mostly cloudy day but no precip in forecast today.

admin tasks and mom shopping went well. for us, I bought six 6oz cans of tomato paste, two cans of mushrooms, two pounds of olives from the olive bar, two Half-pounds of KerryGold butter, a pound of peanut butter and a pound of almond butter, and the bill was $58 and change. Good thing I didn’t buy any meat… BEST ECONOMY NEVER, JACK!

big item on today’s list is a class at local ag extension on ginseng, that'll eat up the middle of the day, then hopefully it is warm enough to pressure wash the two storage boxes be got yesterday. While we were picking thoar up, the guy also had some other items for sale, we got an almost-new Kobalt 6cu.ft. Wheelbarrow for $40. $129 new. And the firewood that was in the wheelbarrow went with it!

once this windy weather dies down this week, outdoor Halloween decorations will go up (the inflatables).

Now to catch up on GM posts from yesterday!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

a very interesting morning, starting with endocrinologist.
I asked him about Ozempic. He smiled and said I didn't qualify, AIC has to hit 6.5 and I'm still at 6.0
So not type 2 diabetes so my prescription coverage isn't going to cover it.
But he did say the results from using Mounjaro was remarkable.

It seems to work remarkably well in reducing food consumption in addition to lowering AIC.
Remarkably well....which is why the worldwide market is simply going off the charts.
And wow what a moneymaker.
No insurance? 1200 bucks a month. 40 dollars a day...for four injections you do yourself.
Best price I could find was thankfully at my own supermarket:

Mounjaro

1 carton 4 pens of 5mg/0.5ml
Logo of Giant Pharmacy

$990.32

Lilly hit a serious home run with this drug.
Overweight folks seem to have a magic pill.
of course, then one has to read the warning page of nasty side effects
possibly for ten percent of the folks taking it.

so is the gain of being skinny worth the risk of pancreatitis or kidney failure?

since I am technically....morbidly obese (240) , basically doc told me this morning to go spend the money.
his patients seem thrilled with it. They are clearly wealthy folks who spend this much a month on their lattes....

I'm going to wait until I see my primary doc in two weeks, get his opinion.

with my head spinning from that conversation, I headed to the Volvo dealer to get help with replacing the battery in the key fob.
One day notice and it died. Thankfully the spare worked fine. Ordered a pack of four new 2032s online. But I had one left and the guy
there helped me replace. Or tried to. He couldn't either. There is a tiny little indent you push and one side of the case comes off.
we both found that one. Then there is another totally hidden
indent to get the other side off, under which the battery hides. Finally he had to ask for help too, that was embarrassing and mechanic came out and showed us both how to do it. Reminds me of Audi, unnecessarily complicated. Makes cost of key fob nuts.

I left with fresh battery installed, and came home to a nice blue sky day

RNG, glad the inspection went well. Preplanning is always good.
Drop some donuts off to the fire house once in a while.
No one knows better than you the importance of firemen...
Mrs and I have been on a weight-loss program since August, she is down 26 and I am down 34 and have a ”1” as weight first digit for the first time in over a dozen years. It is called “infinite30” and It may be something for you to at least look into. i Can honestly say that the first three weeks I was miserable and wanted to eat the headrests out of my truck… but then again, I am a foodie and love to cook— and I still lost the weight. And yea, it requires changing a lot of things and eliminating a lot of things but it is doable and adjustments have been made.

Good Evening Guys,

TxDon, thanks for rubbing it in ! :)

L4new,
Good humor there !:)

Drew, I just did the FOB for my wifes Honda, yes a bit of a pain, but O did get it to work. Yes, mine were the CR2032 also !

Thomas, yes, mostly a waste of time, had to move the Dr's appt to friday because work needs me tomorrow. Will take the money over going to see that guy any day ! Some football tonite !

Have a good evening !
Mrs’ fob is 2028, mine is 2025.

I am thinking about making an adapter ring on the 3D printer so the 2025 can be used in her fob, but would prefer them both the be 2028 since those are available in a ten-pack (and there are eight left in it!) but the 2025’s seem to only be single or twin…

low wind good for tarp work Bill

Kilroy, left supermarket with three small plastic bags yesterday, including a lot of cans.
103 bucks. Must be very challenging for low income families.
And we don’t qualify for “assistance” (not that I would want to), but the lack of pension COLA is becoming distinctly noticeable of late…

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 5:00AM. Abundant sunshine. High 87F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Maybe we'll get a little rain Sunday morning, but 0.03" is very little.

The DMV here has a website, and one of the pages lets you "get in line" remotely. I used it just before I left yesterday, but they called my number 9 minutes before I got there. So I lost my place in line. And the line had about a dozen people in it. Used the app again, which meant little more than I didn't have to actually stand in line, but could sit down instead.About twenty minutes later my number came up, and the VIN inspection went smoothly. Right up until the end when the clerk tried to charge me for a copy of the title. Something I don't need in California should I decide to sell the trailer again. Just a meaningless piece of paper. All I wanted was a California license plate, so that's all I got. Took all of two minutes to install.

On the drive in I verified that the new trailer brake controller and the trailer brakes themselves were working. Had the controller turned up too high and was leaving skid marks in the gravel. Turned it down even more when it left skid marks on the pavement at the first stop sign.

The hardware store had the two M10 nuts I needed, eighty-five cents a piece, on the honor system at the register. Installation of the sway bar took about an hour, mostly because I don't like working under vehicles and I was going slow to make sure the jack stand and jack were worthy of my trust. Had to pull off one of the rear wheels to fish the sway bar into position, but it all went together easily.

Today I'll see if I can get the little Honda Trail 90 loaded into the van by myself, along with three big book shelves and all the books they hold. And whatever else I can cram in there. Then hitch the trailer back up, and start moving things into it as well. Two more motorcycles and more furniture.

I did the same thing yesterday getting my temporary handicap placard. But I got there too early and the kiosk told me to come back later. So I just got a regular number and sat down there were about 40 people with numbers ahead of me. after 15 minutes they went through 4 numbers and I went back up to the kiosk and this time was not too early and it spit out my reserved number and immediately I heard that number being called on the PA, I just jumped in line about 36 people by using the online line.

Good Morning
52 with a high of 60 under misty clear skies, another nice day.

Yesterday’s Zoom meeting was pretty painless, I got a lot of loose ends tied up in the shop.
I had a friend water jet a piece of stainless sheet to repair the rear deck on the Progressive mower due to the previous owner not being as diligent as I am about cleaning it off after every use.
Something went wacky with the .dxf file that I sent him and one 5-1/4” hole didn’t get cut, so I cut it out with a hand plasma cutter and circle guide.

Not as nice as the waterjet, but acceptable nonetheless.

Next project was to build up a spare wheel and tire for the same mower. It’s got 12 tires, so it will get used. But boy, I sure hate changing those little tires. (15-6x6). I’ve got a HF tire changer for them, but it still sucks.

While at the restaurant for lunch, I noticed that there was some some sort of weed tree taking over the dumpster enclosure, so I came back loaded for bear with the the little Stihl 6” chainsaw, and the Makita 14” saw and hedge trimmers to make short work of it.
Small price to pay for lifetime free meals.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, wife is coming along, and son is going to join us after he drops grandson off at nursery school.

Costco run after that, then who knows what I’ll get into.

Be well,

Had one of those midnight thoughts, “did I turn water heater off in the camper?” Decided it could wait till morning, and it was off. One year I went to drain tank at end of fall and got surprised by hot water when I drained the tank. Got reservations to use it next week, pretty close to home but full hookup. A nice paved spot.
Heading to WV today, hope some nice leaves. Riding this one.

I did the "chimney sweep" thing here yesterday. Outside and clean out at the bottom, so I was a dirty mess. Shop vac was just used to the the horizontal run inside, cleaned out. Also planted some cedar trees and a scotch pine. Garage door company is supposed to come today and put the doors in my shop. 7:55 and they're not here yet. No call or notification, either way. Hopefully they show up... Heater is due to get done tomorrow. County assessor's office guys showed up and wanted to look at the shop. I filled out the "any improvements this year?" card they send every year, and told 'em about it. They said it looked great and were impressed, and the new shop "shouldn't" bump my taxes much. We'll see...
