46 with rain moving through. High of upper 50's today.

Had a nice visit with the girls day before yesterday. Both kitchens were running at 100 percent. With all that action it was a big meal. Missed the zoom call with the extended family yesterday, was in the middle of - what else - porch work. Got all the decking laid out. Made sure the wife was OK with the pattern and two knots on the whole deck. Only had one board that had issues. Not bad for over 40 pieces.

More work when the sun comes up.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Stay healthy my friends.

Wow. It's almost December.

28 right now...high about 50 and rain. Hope the rain holds off until I get to work...

Nice tires...boss's daughter ought to like them. Good tread...in fact, they look almost brand new. The lady seller had traded in her Subaru for a newer car (Honda, I think) and these tires wouldn't fit the new car's rims

Good morning all

30 now high in the low 50’s with rain today and tonight. Supposed to get around 1.75” which is good.

Pick up grocery order this morning and just putter around the rest of the day.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning, rain mostly holding off, just as well as I will have to put the battery charger on the Subaru, the solar charger just hasn't found enough sunshine to keep up.

Eric, are they building that new neighborhood near you?

Wng, all is quiet at the moment, the machinery has been pulled from site. I am assuming Covid is making the developers cautious. The other big development that is half a mile closer to town started up again a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the green cross code video Ron. When I was little, this less futuristic road safety awareness campaign is the sort of thing I would have seen on tv when the valves had eventually warmed up. Did you have anything similar ? Tufty Club UK Public Information Film - YouTube

Fruitcake is proper Christmas is coming/has been cake. Even better when eaten along with a piece of cheese. :licking:

Kyle, hope you paid great attention to remembering the name of your daughter's "new" friend. It's weird how much fun a dad can have "accidently" using that same name when he is replaced by boyfriend number 2, 3 or 4 ;) :)

good morning all.
thought I'd be waking up to pouring rain but it hasn't started yet, close though.

Popgadget's wife has an amazing inventory of these alpaca socks in various sizes and colors, medium weight ones like I bought are 15 each and heavy weight ones
are 25. They only shear the animals once a year and it's an all US made sock so no surprise it's not inexpensive. And they can't be put in the dryer, which
may be an issue for some. For me, more a matter of remembering to take them out...
I bought two pairs, one for me and one for my local brother, and I'll put my pair on today. I was told they don't absorb sweat and odor like cotton socks so you can
wear them several days before washing. So give me a few days and I'll let you know how they feel.

Need to call electrician and get on his case this morning about installing my generator. Have tried to be patient, but now I'm asking what exactly he is waiting for and what ETA is.
If he can't be specific, I'm cancelling the order and finding a new electrician. He has a fine reputation, and from what I hear, there are definitely backorders on gen parts, but this is only a receptacle and interlock breakers, nothing else.

Also need to start calling again to find someone to install my electric garage door opener. No one returned my call to Home Depot, nor my call to a local installer. What is it with businesses
not returning phone calls? Someone calls me back a week later and generally I won't want anything to do with them. I was trained you returned all calls by either the end of the day or within
24 hours, no exceptions. Not only the basics of good business but basic courtesy.

I might do another birdhouse today now that I have my pin nailer working. Temps going up to near 60 in heavy rain.

Have we heard from Rick yet?

Coffee is done brewing. 33° with light snow this morning. Heading to 35° with continued snow. Storm is most to the east of me. Do not expect much accumulation because of the warm ground. Since all the leaves have fallen and blown away. I took net off garden pond yesterday. It was like a spring day outdoors. No plans for today. Maybe some Cyber Monday shopping.
Stretching after a afternoon nap.

Eric, we had all kinds of safety education in school. Do not remember it on TV. We lived in the country. 14 miles out of downtown Detroit.

Riptides, sounds like porch is making progress.

RNG, great picture.

Randy, when i was cleaning out pantry last winter. I found a fruit cake that had been there for years. Would have made a great door stop. Hope Ellen does not have pain from her fall.

Drew, good pictures of Paul's place. Waiting for sock report. Glad pin nailer is working. I have met many TBN member over the years. 3 of them still post on GM thread.

David, supervisors help you to do a better job. Sassy has been doing a good job with me lately. Does not wander off like she did when younger.

Buckeye, hope the motors do not need to be replaced.

tinhack, :welcome: to GM thread.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

55 and heavy rain beating against the windows. Local weather guy says winds will gust up to 57mph in a couple of hours. Looking for 69F before the floor drops.

Mostly, nice that you made breakfast for your wife. You deserved a nap.

Frank, I love Costco's fruitcake...haven't had any others as good.

Kyle, daughter is growing up and will be just fine with her upbringing.

Randy, take good care of Ellen today...sure to be sore.

Rip, sounds like your gathering was nice...where'd you get such good lumber?

Helped my wife with some more decorating yesterday...unfortunately I turned on the spotlights this morning and see some have been blown down by the winds. Decided to use the nice warm day to clean all the inside windows of our vehicles...16 windows including sunroof...they just get a bit cloudy over time...used only hot water and a rag and wiped hard...wiped down the rest of the interior, too...most pretty clean except where Coco sits.

Then looked at the rain forecast, and since it was up to 2 inches, decided to get the tractor out and bring a pallet of firewood up to the porch...got my climbing done by repeatedly having to climb up two steps with armloads of wood and climbing back down. Since I had the tractor out...I took my wife's 5 big pumpkins down the hill to the shooting backstop...They served us well as fall decorations, and now will serve as fun targets.

Yep, almost December.

Ron, great crane shot. They must be fun to watch.

Thomas, I love the full moon nights for watching wildlife. On the way to bed, I looked out the window and there was a fox about 10 feet from me just trotting along.

After dark last night, but before midnight, we got about .65" of rain and were glad to get it. Temperature today is 45 going for a high of 53, but supposed to be below freezing in the morning.

If they're anything like the ones from The Collin Street bakery in Corsicana, TX, they'll be great.

They are great, I just like to joke about fruitcake.

Up the road from you. In Madison, MWPSupply.

Lumbers expensive. But have had good luck with them. This batch was premium, the one "bad" board looks to have been dinged and had three small knots in it. Used about 7 feet of the 16 anyway.

Rain seems to have stopped. Need to go access the yard and pastures.

Kyle, I like chocolate chip cookies too. My lat wife made multiple versions, including white chocolate and ground walnuts.

Good morning, the temperature is 37°F and going down to 34. Wind E 5 mph. 60% chance of flurries. Special weather statement in effect.
Significant snowfall expected tonight into Wednesday.
Snow, heavy at times, and blowing snow will begin tonight or Tuesday morning and continue into Wednesday. Snowfall amounts 15 to 30 cm (6-12") are possible before the snow weakens Wednesday afternoon or evening.

There you have it straight from Environment Canada.

A town run is in the cards for today and energy conservation after that.

Have a safe day all

Lumbers expensive.
I looked at my Wehrungs bill this morning for cedar boards, $57 for a 1x8x12 and $78 for a 1x10x12, and found a lot of dings and cracks in the wood, which
was disappointing at that price

rain has started, expect it to keep going all day, 1-2 inches predicted

socks are soft and comfortable

Yep, never met a chocolate chip cookie that I didn't like. Makes no difference to me whether it's the crisp or soft texture.

Good Morning. It’s 48 and the rain has just started, the wind isn’t here yet.

It was nice meeting Drew yesterday, I’m glad that his pin nailer was a simple fix. I m flattered by his description, but the reality is that I am just a lifetime tinkerer that hasn’t yet figured out what he was going to do when he grows up.

It was an unbelievable coincidence to lookup at the plane circling over head to see that it was my son.
I hope that Drew will like the socks. The alpacas are entirely my wife’s endeavor, I’m just the maintenance guy.

With a couple of inches of rain and 50mph winds forecast for today, my tarp job on the mower should get a good test..

Not sure what today has in store, but it will be inside.

   / Good morning!!!! #122,659
.82” of rain so far, still pouring, supposed to end mid morning, high temperature about 70 with winds 25-35 gusting to 50.

Ellen remarkably is not sore today, she’s a very young and active 62 though. I’m not so much.
Fruitcake looks great, I haven’t tried it yet as I’m sitting and waiting on a blood draw.

I didn’t get anything done before leaving home this morning, maybe the chore fairy will come while I’m here.

I’ll check in later.

Good morning all. 48 and just starting to rain when I let the dogs out at 5am. 54 with heavy rain now and the winds are picking up. My rain gauge is a graduated glass tube so intrastorm reports are not to be had during torrential precipitation .

Hope everyone has a good start to the week!

Frank
