Good morning!!!!

Coffee is done brewing. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 83° with partly cloudy skies. .28" of rain yesterday. Grass is growing. Good doctor visit for wife. Never got started on lights yesterday. But it's on list today. Then a late lunch at my aunts place.
Drew, I never mastered thin metal with a stick welder. But do fairly well with a MIG welder.
Eric, nice shotgun.
Don, sorry for calling your tractor a M. :D
Good Morning All.

75 out, sticky and muggy, going to 89 today, less chance of rain.
Going to be a busy day and hopefully a good one.
Rosie, good morning and welcome! And if we can ease your worries, let us know how.

today with fresh eyes and no sweat running in them, i'm starting off by working on my welding. Can only improve...
Guys in welding forum are being very kind.

Then I have the rest of my brush pile to split, then douse the burn pile with some old oil/gas mix and let it go.
Am afraid with recent rains I'm not going to get much action out of those piles of wood chips. I dug them up yesterday when I had the front forks on the tractor.

Got the new man cage brought back to the barn, need to assemble it, might let my helper who is actually going to ride in it do that job.

Took an apple and two figs over to my farmer neighbor. He was in bad shape. Didn't come out of his single wide. I opened the front door, put his apple and figs(in a plastic bag) on the floor and quickly shut the door it smelled so bad in there. All his left over paper food plates and who knows what (I won't go in there) are all over the floor, feral cats running around, about as low as low a hovel can get. I admit to not having much experience with this....

I was headed back in my golf cart when I heard all kinds of yelling and hollering. I turned back and found him like an upside down turtle, on his back outside, in his underwear, having fallen off his front steps and landing on them, about a six foot drop. He's bloody, scraped up badly, hollering around, his arms and legs waving around in the air. Gosh....
I asked him if he wanted an ambulance, and he said no, it was the third time he had fallen that day. He had a Hispanic helper there who picked him up and took him back inside. Pretty sad actually to reach the end of one's days and be alone and in poverty and living in filth. Which is why I have zero respect for his 50 year old daughter who lives in the barn in an apt upstairs and does nothing to help her father. No job, mooches off a guy whose only income is 700 a month in SS. It all just defines dysfunctionality, but no sense being judgmental, these are human beings in distress.
Just glad it's not my distress....

Try to find someone to do a kindness to today. The world will be a better place.

70 and lots of fog...going to 90 and humid.

Happy Birthday, PJ!

RS, thanks for detailing the valve clearance job. When my tractor hit 800 hours, I got worried about it, tried to find info on TBN, but gave up...seemed to be something that wasn't critical unless there were symptoms, so I figured I'd wait.

Eric, that's a beauty.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 4 AM. Sunny. High 92F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Very nice day yesterday weather wise, 86F, sunny and breezy. Really cooled off around dinner time, so I opened up the house to get some fresh air. Left open the bedroom sliding door, and a screech owl's call woke me up a few minutes ago...

No pictures of that dream gun, Eric? I had hopes of seeing fine English craftsmanship, not computer controlled wizardry (even if is by Italian wizards).

Welcome to the asylum, Rosie! Misery just loves company.

How many hours between valve adjustments on that Kubota, RS? It's been so long since I last did mine I've forgotten, so it's probably about time to do it again...

Got a fair approximation of a foot prop made for the old bike's center stand yesterday, but will need to make a few adjustments after tacking it in place and trying the fit. Started with a round bar, but ended up using a radius cutter on the corners pretty much wiping out the lathe work. Good thing I'm not being paid by the hour.:confused2:

Enjoyed the fine weather with a drop of Bourbon on the back porch last night, playing music from an iPad and poking around the 'net. Noticed an old text message from a friend that had been on vacation in Sweden saying he'd be home today, so texted him back. In a minute the phone rang, on the iPad?!? There was a button to answer it, so I poked it and we had a very nice conversation, apparently talking through my iPhone what was in the bedroom. Anyway, the lucky devil took his motorcycle down to the Italian Dolomite mountains, one of the best places in the world to ride, and then spent some time with family in Sweden. Eight weeks in all, gotta be a tough job but he's just the man for the job. But when it came time to end the call, I couldn't figure out how to hang up. It was OK, though, 'cause Lars could do it from the other end.:ashamed: Two college degrees and I couldn't find the button.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Good Morning All. 68 going to 88 with a lot of fog this morning, can see about 100 yd's. Normal day except mother in law coming for her weekly visit. Stained my stitching pony with a minwax stain last friday and it still stinks, wife won't let it in the house. Any ideas on how to get it to stop stinking. Wife has a very sensitive nose and allegeries. Tried heating it with a blow drier and no help and then a propane torch and that helped for a few min.

PJ. Happy Birthday.

rswyan, Ground hogs can be taken care of this way. Get a long handle shovel, a rag the size of a shirt and a half pint of gasoline but NO MATCHES. Lay the rag, balled up in the mouth of the hole and pour the gas on the rag. DO NOT LIGHT IT ON FIRE. Use the handle of the shovel and push the rag down the hole as far as you can and then cover the hole with dirt. In a few days you will smell the fine aroma of decomposing ground hog from deep in the hole.

Have a great day. Ed

Been there. When I tell my son that I can't get something to work on my Apple products. He tells me that they give classes for that at Apple Store. Yah right. But what about now? His time is coming sooner than he thinks. 54 year old.

64.6F and clear @ 09:00, high today predicted to be 86F ... high yesterday ended up being 88F here, although it hit 90F in the CLE.

Mowed the patchy bit of grass in the woods north of the polebarn yesterday and did some clean up of branches in the surrounding woods.

There are three large piles of either clay or topsoil up there and I can use them whatever they are. Wanted to be able to get to them without any problems.

After that I mixed another 25 gallons of glyphosate and spent the rest of the day spraying around the polebarn. Got that all done and then some, but still have around 7 gallons to go before the tank is empty. Will see what I can find to spray that on this morning ...
