Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Not sure how warm it got yesterday; the new Davis weather station is cutting out just like the old one. Seems to be working now though, so I'll keep an eye on it today and call Davis if it does it again.

Is it easy for kids to find summer jobs these days, Farmer? I always had something while I was going to school, and sometimes part time work even during the school year, too. Would'a been a disaster if any of them fell through, so I hope your boy can pick something up soon.

Happy Trails, L4N. $70 per diem doesn't sound like much these days, but maybe your cab has a sleeper in it?

Got the A/C mounting plate welded into the dash yesterday, but not before I filled the old radio hole with another plate in which I milled four holes for rocker switches. Probably won't use them all, but much easier to cut them now than later and they'll get covered up by the laminate trim until needed. Today will see more welds on the back side, then all the front side welds get ground down and sanded smooth.

Kept the garage doors down in the garage/shop and only had one mosquito that bit once and ended up as a red smear. Bourbon on the back porch while the steak was BBQing was similarly bug free, so the heat must be getting to the bugs, too.

Hummers are already up and at it this morning, I guess the early bird gets the nectar.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

The high yesterday was 58* some wind.
It was 32* this morning, going to 65* with sunny skies. The next week looks like it's going be nice.

Got the bathroom floor done over the weekend and the tools put back.
How on to bigger and better projects.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Gone last week working in Nashville, first time to that area, nice weather (80s), but we spent most of our time indoors. Came home to more water problems, long story but found source of sand in water (problem started several months ago). It took all day Saturday to find the leak in the main water line (between pump and pressure tank). Started with shovels around well head but ended up using backhoe. Leak is nearly 6' deep. We will get that fixed this week (temporary fix in place).

Lots to catch up on the last week, hope those with health problems get better.

rain missed us, all went North to Toppop

which means I'm back on water wagon duty. One inch rains are wonderful for the lawn but not for new trees of course. Doesn't hurt...

am concerned over Irv. Has anyone contacted him? He is the OP and head of the coffee clatchers

52°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 79° today.

Got the Dixon zero-turn picked up from the repair shop Saturday morning. They had to replace the clutch, all three spindles, a cracked pulley, new V-belt, new blades, and a general tune-up ... $612.93. Ouch. Also got a bunch of items crossed of the honey-do list.

Played with my acoustic band Happy Little Trees at a biker joint in Alton IL Sunday afternoon. First time we've played together in almost a year. We made it though without any serious crash and burn moments, though. Great weather (sunny and 70°) made it a busy day there, as it's a popular stop for people taking the Great River Road along the Mississippi River north to Grafton IL.

After that, my Wife met up with us and a group of us went to see Rik Emmett at a small venue called The Wildey Theater in Edwardsville IL. An old converted movie theater, it seats about 300 people. Very neat place to see a concert. Rik was fantastic. He's still one of the best guitar players on the planet, and even at 63 years old now, still has a great voice. He was hitting most of the ridiculously high notes in the old Triumph songs just like he always did. He has a fantastic band with him, too. A good end to a good day.

Didn't get to bed until almost midnight, so kind of dragging a little today.

Have to upgrade the firmware on my solar electric today. Haven't read any negatives since it was made available.
Be safe
Have a great day

Rainy and cool down here in the South. This may be the first time in 25+ years that we get to labor day without one day of temperature above 90 degree F.

Wound up doing unexpected auto body work on Saturday. We went to Houston on Friday and I ran over a piece of sheet metal road debris. That thing cut the plastic mudguard on the passenger front wheel and knocked the body panel below the doors out of place. Thankfully that wasn't too hard to fix.

At my lady's insistence, I replaced the rear brake pads on her car. The dealer gave her a "free inspection" and they said the rear brake pads needed to be replaced ASAP. So I bought the brake pads and found that there was still 3/16" left on her rear brake pads. Since it on the rear brake, that would have been good for another 20K miles at least. Since I already had the pads in hand, I went ahead and replaced them. Next time they make any recommendation, I'll check it out first before buying replacement parts.

When I hit the road debris, it flew up and hit the car behind me, breaking their windshield. The driver flagged me down and wanted me to pay for the damage. I told him that I have it on my car camera that the debris was already on the road and did not come from my car. He followed me too close and he was responsible for the damage on his own car.

cajun, sorry you hit an IED. Think in another five years you car will probably be required to slam on the brakes as it autodetects "something" in the road and you then get rearended by the bozo tail gating you with an older car
while texting.

rains coming in, much hotter here than expected, nothing showed up earlier. Just finished picking a colander of snap peas, brought them in, washed them off, put them right in the steamer and within fifteen minutes of picking i was eating. Yum. Sweet, good fiber, low calories, all good. Time to market minimal...

I hooked up the old Cub Cadet to the water wagon and I watered for hours today. If anything will make it rain, that will. They did a great job tuning up the old Kohler and it ran very smoothly. With new points it starts just fine.
