What is a "gaspack unit" ... overhead space heater ?

no, a whole lot more complicated...Heat pump with a separate propane furnace for backup during the winter.
Which I find interesting because my Trane heat pump up in PA did just fine in zero degree weather. Of course it had electric heaters (toasters...) as backup, not propane as I do now. The "pack" is short for package I guess; packaging a heat pump and gas furnace together. Tall thing, easily eight feet. Gas furnace plus air handler/blower and a/c coil on the bottom going out to the condenser outside.

And they work really well. Ours is going on eight years old and never misses a beat. The 6.7 I believe holds between 13 and 15 quarts if memory serves me correctly

40F. Upper 60's today and mostly sunny.

I enjoy reading about everyone's various adventures and projects.

The weather is always interesting. Larro's summer heat index readings would wilt me like week-old lettuce.

Next week a very strong bend in the jet stream will take place which will result in rain/ snow from Mississippi River east. Just do not know exactly where just yet. Atmosphere is very juicy in southeast. Colder areas up north or highest mountain peaks in NC could see snow rest more rain

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 66° with fog early and sun later. Going to lay back and enjoy this great weather today.
Drew, Keep the comments coming. Oil change is 3 gallons. Makes for a interesting weather reports. Hope you found a shut-off for the house. If you are going to do some RV traveling later on you will need it. I remember seeing pictures of the damage done by a water leak that was left for weeks. You may not have the freezing we have up north. But here is one example of what can happen.

50 out this AM. Fall is a definite.

Started packing up the equipment last night when I got home, greased stuff up, covered the balers, moved everything into the parking spaces for the winter. Lawn care around the house is all that is left.

Since my contracts never officially came through, I am heading towards the shore for a while. The beaches are always refreshing to the body and mind this time of year for me.

Have a great day, be safe, enjoy.
Oh, on the plumbing front, my wife found that darn tee part with the odd shutoff plunger in it for the sink, On the internet from some place probably not in the USA. LOL. I told her we can use PayPal to order one, heck it is 100 times cheaper than a new faucet system.

54 going to 74.

Yesterday got two fields tilled and planted in crimson clover for the winter/spring. Used seeds I "harvested" by lowering my FEL bucket when bush hogging another field back in June, after the flowers had turned to seed. It will be interesting to see how they germinate.

Nice photo - I guess that is a Porche-cicle. Glad he is a AAA member - I'm sure they help thaw cars as well as tow.

Drew - maybe a dehumidifier under the house can help until your vapor barrier is in place - if there is enough clearance.

Good Morning! A very warm morning here at 76˚ heading to 96˚, still summer. There have been spotted thunderstorm in the county this week but so far all have missed our hill.

The wood bowl got an unexpected delay yesterday after we (VFD) had to respond to a grass fire which spread from a burn pile. Only three acres burned but it took up most of the afternoon. Deadline for the bowl is 5 p.m. and I am waiting for the sun to rise to get-er-done or at least get to an acceptable stopping point.
