61. Another nice morning. Somewhere along the trip up to 89 the dew will dry and I'll get to work outside. Made a long to-do list last night.

Good morning! 75˚ heading to the low 90s. There is a chance of rain today. Yesterdays 20% chance =.18 inch of rain. The mega rains have been way north of us in FG19's territory.

Drew, my math. I figure maintenance, fuel, would average $25 a mow. So the actual cost is $100 every 10 days (average) or $300 a month times 6 months is $1,800. a year.
That would be 11.6 years is the $ break even point with a 21K mower. If it takes 4 hours to mow in 11.6 years you would save 835 hours, or 104 8hour days.

I would try the kid and see if his mow is acceptable then use him as long as I could.

Good Morning. 0805, partly cloudy, 73F with 95% humidity. Forecast high of 88F with 48% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, and a low of 72F tonight. I'm heading out to the garden to pick what needs picking. If I have any energy left after that I need to finish the mowing. After that I'll have to go to town for the week's shopping. My grand niece is wanting to go shopping with me, and she wouldn't go with Sister, even with some serious bribery.

Bob, thanks for the recipe. My cucumbers are just coming in, and I have planted a couple of rows of late ones too. So I will need to do something with them. I used to help Mamma make icebox pickles when I was a kid, and Margie makes them using bought dill pickles. But we will give these a try.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all. Currently 74F going to 85F mostly cloudy, only 30% chance of rain. Received .6 in rain yesterday and last night. Not easy to work outside due to moisture. Boat needs new battery and check on battery "drain". Need to mow, may not get to it until tomorrow.

Hey Brin, you going to share some of those delicious pickles? You know, wave one in front of a camera and munch it for us? A pickle selfie...;)

txdon, thanks for crunching the numbers. I don't want to be a slave to a property, but it is good exercise for me, if I'm careful to not overdo it.
which of course I always do...that isn't likely to change.
I think hiring a mowing service for the beginning makes a lot of sense; I sure will have my hands full selling one house and setting up another. All by myself too.
btw, need to mow 9 months a year, not six.

of course, if I sit down in that JD seat and don't want to leave, well....
actually I could hire a person to use my mower when desired, and certainly to do the trimming.
lots of possibilities.

Mostly, I learned to carry a hd power pack with me when going boating with my little boat. Just never knew what switch got whacked, though I did try to remember to
turn off the main switch near the battery. My little boat has been sitting for two years unused. Maybe this Fall I will be taking pictures while poking my nose out timidly into the Pamlico River. And I'll stay out of the way of the Fountain speed boats being factory tested there.
There's a boat plant right in Washington, Fountain and one other company now. That will make a fun visit when the dust settles.
just to look, just to look. Actually it will be a TBN photo opportunity. I'm sure they have a tractor there somewhere...:D
