48 going to 77 and some sun. Forecasting 82 for Thursday...I'm not ready...Buppies, send some snow, please.

Plan to take the trailer and pick up a load of mulch...may get ambitious and pick up a second load.

Buppies, sorry you have a job vacancy on your hands...hope you fill it fast with even better.

Geez maybe I should apply for Buppies job. Can't push a rake or a shovel, moan and groan a lot and take constant pee breaks. Well, maybe I'd fit right in...:D

Like Buppies and Wingsprd, warm weather coming in today, 46 now going up to mid seventies. Lots to do outside, but first another trip to Lowes (boy I wish we had a Home Depot here to give them some competition) as I forgot something yesterday. Delivered block, stone and sand to a friend whose pier had some damage from the last storm, and being the smart guy I am I took my nice metal cart with me so I wouldn't have to lug half a ton of material several hundred feet down to the River. Well...after I had the first load in the wagon, I tried to pull it and found out to my utter dismay two of the tires were flat. They didn't look flat when empty so I was suckered. Oh my was that hard to pull and I left my airpump at home. Back it goes in the truck... So here I am struggling pulling this silly cart loaded down with flat tires. I was looking for Abbot and Costello to help me...;) First job this morning is to pump up those tires.

I'm going to do some calling today and find out where I can rent a three or four ton trailer to move my Kubota when I need to. I have a really nice quality small trailer but it's only single axle. And I can't justify spending over three grand on a new trailer for occasional use, no matter how convenient. I can pull 7900 gvw with my economy geared Ram truck and that should just do it with a 5000-5500 pound tractor and FEL and whatever else, combined. This is when i wish I still had kept my diesel dually, could have pulled a mountain with that, but for every day use, my half ton is worlds more comfortable.

What I really would like to have is an old but still good small dumptruck that I could bring my own stone and material in with, and also pull a trailer. Something like a 5500 series. Though I have to admit the 15 ton dumptrucks leave a pile that is ok, but surely not as impressive as the bigger trucks. And a much smaller truck, well, it might leave a paltry little pile...but it wouldn't leave huge ruts in my property either. And I just make more runs...anyone have a nice clean used dump truck they have one too many of? didn't think so...

I know when Buppies finally gets down/over here to fix my driveway he will drop off a nice low mileage small dump truck for me.
A dump truck and a bulldozer. What fun I could have with them...:dance1:

Right after he drops off his mini-ex at my place. How many hours do we have to work for him to pay?

46F and partly cloudy @ 06:30 ... headed up to a high of 70F ... same deal for tomorrow, but with a little better chance of some rain.

Moved Shower Massage over to main bathroom yesterday so Woman can start using it, instead of the bathroom off the master bedroom. At some point later today I'll probably start doing the tear out on it.

Likely hit the driveway with the box blade to fill in the low spots that are starting to form and see about putting up that motion sensor light on the east side of the house.

And paper work.

I always like people who shop at three or four different grocery stores in the vein of saving money. For .50 cents or $1.00 what they burn in fuel and wear and tear on their vehicle more than out ways what they save
We're fortunate ... the DG is on the way to the grocery store(s) ... any of the three.

Stopped by there yesterday while I was out and picked up laundry detergent for the washer in the basement I use to clean dirty, oily rags ... $9 for a big jug of it, supposed to do 210 loads. It's "Tropical Passion Fruit" I think ... will probably have the best smelling shop rags in town

Buppies, it's always painful to lose a valued employee. We lost 2 at work last week. 1 gave a 2 week notice, the other quit on the spot. Not sure what happened with that. Our company hasn't given any significant or COL raises in years. They have given a few raises, but nothing significant. But our health insurance has gone through the roof if you have a wife and kids. They pay absolutely nothing towards the family's health costs...

Pet peeve of the day:

Searching websites for product info - the internal search engines for both Home Depot and Lowes web sites are utterly worthless, to name but two.

Search for something you know that they carry - using a variety of different search terms - and you get everything but the thing you're looking to find some info on.

Whoever is coding this crap needs to be taken out behind the shed and beat silly up side the head with a big stick.

Good morning 68˚ heavy clouds, if it does not rain today I'll loose faith in Buppies weather predictions for Texas.

Christy visited over the weekend, she still has all her limbs. She has a new boyfriend but neither of the ones Steve pick out for her. Even in February she made 3 calls but none news worthy. She also did some alligator awareness classes in schools with her little gator - it gets pased around. She will do the aligator segment in the animal show -When nature calls- in the spring. She was eyeing my pond in the back and commented what a good alligator pond it would make . . .

The EGO 15" battery trimmer (weed eater), is a hit, lightweight, powerful, one 56v 2.5ah battery last the entire house yard and best of all my wife loves it. Cross one of my ouside jobs off the list! (It has a 5 year warranty that includes the battery.)

With my wife's arsenal of EGO battery operated equipment - mower, weed eater and blower - it looks like I'm stuck on the Z mower.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 72° with partly cloudy skies. Had to dig out a jacket and long pant yesterday. Never got as warm as forecast. Plus brisk winds made it feel cold. Similar weather today.
Good Morning All.

56 this morning and headed to 73 today.

Was too windy yesterday to sow seed. Looks like today is going to be just as bad. I started the last field of my fall bushhoging yesterday. Only have about an hour left and I'll be done. The Kubota doesn't even know that 7' Bush Hog is back there. The Massey always did and it's a hair bigger. Oh how I was dreaming of a 10'er yesterday. I've got a couple of trees to cut up today. Blow downs into the fields. Then may have to just bite the bullet and sow that seed as rain is forecast for tomorrow evening.

Buppies. Hopefully you can get him replaced quickly.

Morning guys overslept,,,oh wait I can't over sleep. 61 heading to 70 so spring has sprung. The rain they have been putting into every day ain't happening.
You guys are lucky. DG is 4 miles away. The local grocery store is 5 miles away. Walmart and Krogers are 9 miles away. SO wifey does the DG stop a lot.

Good Morning. 0825, 65F with 79% humidity. Forecast high of 77F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 56F tonight.

I'm headed to the garden. Want to get soybeans, corn and peas planted for sure. Would like to put Armenian cucumber and Pruden's Purple tomato seeds in soil inside, but can do that tonight. I've got to get back into town to finish the cleanup by the time the cleaning guy gets off at 1300. {boss is taking the day off} I hung in there until 0030 last night, but didn't have the umph to finish. My sore throat has morphed into a head cold and acts like it has designs on my chest. I go years at a time without getting sick, so I'm not very good at it.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Growing up there was 3 grocery stores in about 2 miles. One had the best prices on most items so we shopped there and it was beside Walmart so we'd walk over for the non grocery items needed. Another grocery had the best selection of meat with the better prices so we'd stop there. The third store, farthest away, was were we went when the other two didn't have something we needed. Like a special ingredient.

Now we have two grocery stores and a super Walmart in about a mile. But Walmart get most everyone's business. The others just don't compete. But they have better meat selections. Being we buy very little meat it's not worth the trip. Most of our meat is home raised. My wife uses the dollar stores for the one item trips that she doesn't feel like fighting the Walmart crowd for.
Walmart meat is the worst, we pay some extra to get meat at Super Giant, but while it's a great store, it's expensive for general grocery shopping, much like Harris Teeter, which we don't have. They were looking to come here, but our demographics were too poor!

The next 5 days are all sunny and 70's-80°, welcome back!

Well I feel a little chagrined...
I'm at Lowes struggling with a treated 4x4 loading it into my truck bed without scratching anything or banging up that not so tough plastic and a rather large woman walked past from her truck and asked me if I needed any help. I said no, I got it, thanks, and she then replied "are you sure?". I almost started laughing but no, I got it lady. She was clearly stronger than I was looking at the time, and she knew I knew it...too funny. But it was sure nice of her to ask. Maybe she has a parent my age, who knows.
1x6's and 4x4's I can do. Maybe even some 1x10's. But those 6x6 pressure treated fellows make me look around for help. And often finding none, do it myself.
Perhaps a contributing factor to the various operations on my back and neck...

ok, out to finish making the raised garden and will take pics.

RS, now don't hold back, tell us how you really feel...:D

Looks like I may be starting to get the run-around from alarm company number 2
