Geez maybe I should apply for Buppies job. Can't push a rake or a shovel, moan and groan a lot and take constant pee breaks. Well, maybe I'd fit right in...
Like Buppies and Wingsprd, warm weather coming in today, 46 now going up to mid seventies. Lots to do outside, but first another trip to Lowes (boy I wish we had a Home Depot here to give them some competition) as I forgot something yesterday. Delivered block, stone and sand to a friend whose pier had some damage from the last storm, and being the smart guy I am I took my nice metal cart with me so I wouldn't have to lug half a ton of material several hundred feet down to the River. Well...after I had the first load in the wagon, I tried to pull it and found out to my utter dismay two of the tires were flat. They didn't look flat when empty so I was suckered. Oh my was that hard to pull and I left my airpump at home. Back it goes in the truck... So here I am struggling pulling this silly cart loaded down with flat tires. I was looking for Abbot and Costello to help me...

First job this morning is to pump up those tires.
I'm going to do some calling today and find out where I can rent a three or four ton trailer to move my Kubota when I need to. I have a really nice quality small trailer but it's only single axle. And I can't justify spending over three grand on a new trailer for occasional use, no matter how convenient. I can pull 7900 gvw with my economy geared Ram truck and that should just do it with a 5000-5500 pound tractor and FEL and whatever else, combined. This is when i wish I still had kept my diesel dually, could have pulled a mountain with that, but for every day use, my half ton is worlds more comfortable.
What I really would like to have is an old but still good small dumptruck that I could bring my own stone and material in with, and also pull a trailer. Something like a 5500 series. Though I have to admit the 15 ton dumptrucks leave a pile that is ok, but surely not as impressive as the bigger trucks. And a much smaller truck, well, it might leave a paltry little pile...but it wouldn't leave huge ruts in my property either. And I just make more runs...anyone have a nice clean used dump truck they have one too many of? didn't think so...
I know when Buppies finally gets down/over here to fix my driveway he will drop off a nice low mileage small dump truck for me.
A dump truck and a bulldozer. What fun I could have with them...:dance1:
