Original dealer is close to 100 miles away. I'm not going to hold it against him 4 years later. I'm also not going to request he drive all that way to put it right when I can fix it myself with a $10 adapter and a garden hose.

Are there any advantages then to WW fluid to the RV antifreeze? I guess the advantage of beet juice is weight.

No, no advantage to adding WW fluid to RV Antifreeze. The freezing point of both (as long as you ensure the WW fluid is the winter variety) is well below 0 degrees F.

The only thing I don't like about straight water is that sooner or later your wheel will rust. My only experience has been with ATV tires with tubes in them. The water gets in the holes in the tire and then gets trapped between the tube and the steel and will rust. Maybe without the tube the paint would last, I don't know. Of course around here where we see -40 in the dead of winter water alone is not an option.

I looked at anti-freeze, RV anti-freeze and RimGuard. RimGuard was the cheapest of the three coming it at just over $3/gal installed. I could not find any source for either type of anti-freeze that would beat that price.

Sorry Roy. I meant to say 'any advantage of WW fluid over RV antifreeze'.

I would tube my tires if I was filling them.

 TUBES YES OF COURCE
Even with tubes in my 30 plus years Ive had some rust on the rims inside . Last time I had them apart i wire brushed them down and put on some rustoleum and let it dry real good.Of cource the thickness of the steel in the rim matters im sure. I bet they have cut back on them in the last 10 years.(thickness)

i'm sure the product varies with what you buy, but my last bottle of rv antifreeze said it had corrosion inhibitors and was safe for all metal and plastics and valves.. :)

if you want alot of protection.. use a 'green' coolant' propylene glycol AF.. still non toxic...
