FEL Build for my Kubota B6200

/ FEL Build for my Kubota B6200 #21
First off, I don't own a FEL, have never built one, but do have a burnt one out back off a JD 4300 destined to be mounted on a B6000.
With the added stresses of a FEL and what it does to the bell housing area of a tractor, is there any reason not to add a subframe such as a lot of backhoes use? Seems extending a tube from the rear of the mount that typically comes out of the side of the tractor in the area of the bell housing to the rear axle and maybe even mounting the counterweight on that, just behind the rear axle. I can understand the problems with a subframe going to the rear with a tractor that is used with a midmount mower, but it seems that with a little bit of thought, even that can be worked around. Making the subframe bow around the pullies and such and then tucking back in just ahead of the rear wheels isn't that much of a challenge, just 3 extra cuts and welds on each side. Just adding a rear subframe and ONLY attaching it to the rear axle should counter a lot of the twisting load that the uprights from the loader arms are subjected to. Adding another point on the subframe to the tractor and you can start absorbing weight that is pushing downward on the mounts at the center mounts. Just seems like a good idea to me, as removing these types of stress will greatly reduce the chances of the loader doing damage to the tractor, such as breaking it in half.

Hi Sandman,

If the clearances for the MMM could be worked out, I think you are right that it would be better.

I agree with sandman, without a subframe there will be allot of stress on the bell housing. I have a B6100 with factory FEL, it has a subframe that goes the length of the tractor frame. My version will not allow for a MMM but the C version is supposed to. If you want me to post some pics of how Kubota sets it up just PM me.

GPintheMitten, here's the pictures I promised. If you want a shot in a specific area not shown please ask.

Thanks for the subframe pictures, KubotainNH.

Hi KubotainNH. I see you have a B6100 with fel. Did you build that particular attachment? I have a B6100D and want to build a fel for it. I was wondering if you have any pictures, you could post, showing the subframe and fel mount. Thanks in advance.

That's a Kubota made loader. It came with the tractor. GPintheMitten is looking into making one for his b6200 which is why I posted it. i can post other pictures but not sure what else could be added to what I already posted.

I put one on a B7100HST and you can find some pics on it under my screeen name. If you want to:cool: know anything else email me and I will post it. The bucket on mine is only about 30 inches wide and full of dirt or gravel, it is a load on the steering with no power steering. Just thought you might want to know this. zman

Onowino asked me to post a couple more pics of the front attachment points. There's basically 6 points: the front frame, frame mid-section on each side and 2 on the axle housing. Hope this helps.

Yeah, thanks Mike. The second pic shows me what I was wondering. I didn't realise the cross-member was that far back under the tractor. Now, will the subframe have to be removed for such operations as a clutch change? Thanks for helping out a first timer and thanks for being so prompt.
