Front-End Loader Favorote Quick Attach FEL attachments???

Hydraulic post hole digger for front mount FEL. I don't have actual pictures of mine yet (these are stock pictures), but if you get one, make sure you get the offset set up (second picture) so you can see what you are digging. Otherwise if you get a center mount one intended for skid steers you may need a second person on the ground to guide you. These FEL mounts are way better than 3 pt as you don't have as much of the wobble that a 3 pt allows (sometimes holes then go at an angle) plus you can reverse the auger if you get stuck under a root or rock and can't lift the auger out. If you already have hydraulics for a grapple, you should be set. Otherwise you will need to add them. Make sure you don't oversize the hydraulic motor depending on your hydraulic GPM capacity.

Nice. Now if they could make it extend and retract for going under a fence while driving parallel to it. It looks handy without that, but if it could extend it would be really nice. hhhmmmm, it would just be a mater of attaching it to a hyd cylinder, and maybe have that cylinder swing away if hits something too solid.

Before I learned that a JD 4100 can have additional hydraulics added to it. This was our solution for digging and trenching. Frame from scrap around the stockpile and the bucket was $37 at the local scrap yard. View attachment 294115

We use one to maintain our horse trails. Its fine if you keep your speed down and dont try to cut much above 1" dia. It has a built in swivel to protect against bending overload, but still u need to take care.

Larry, I appreciate the heads up on being "gentle" - planned on it anyway, at least til I see the beast "in the steel" - which should be soon, the box just showed up from UPS, and apparently was too heavy to destroy like some stuff.

hchxoom, you may have to settle for Larry's "nutshell" for a bit, I still have about 37 other projects with higher priority before I can add 3 more hydraulic circuits on each end of my 580b to run this thing. My mind is now filling with "what if" ideas for it, so maybe by next fall I'll post some cool stuff... Steve

Louie, don't have a lotta choice - I'm still recovering from rotator cuff surgery, plus a complete right biceps re-attachment. Gonna be a while before my friends quit calling me "lefty"...

Also, I have several projects planned for the BH that will require 3 new hyd. circuits at each end - a 3 position, one with float, and a motor control/flow control for loader bucket AND for the hoe bucket. I'll need to run hard lines along the hoe sections and loader, then set up QD's for each, build a mount for the right fender for two 3-section valves, plumb it all up, likely add a transmission cooler in the return (flow controls tend to add heat) - All this in addition to modding the front bucket for QA (See Puckgrinder's thread) -

Hopefully I can get this all done before I croak, 'cause it will definitely make things a LOT easier to keep on top of if I'm doing it with little levers instead of BIG, NON-hydraulic tools :=)

Lefty, Sounds like you have a busy future. Good luck with all the upgrades and especially your recuperation. Getting this samurai was a big project for me -- tells you what my skill level is!

Yeah, don't plan to be bored unless I live to be 180 :=)

I'd been trying for the last year to find a usable sickle bar for less than $1200 that was worth bringing home, followed by probably a month of messing around and another $600 in hydraulic parts/steel, etc, when the Samurai popped up (here, of course:=) so I consider myself lucky NOT to have had that particular experience (modding an old pitman arm relic trying to make it "petite" enough to handle, etc)

BTW, on their website FAQ's one of the questions was whether the teeth were smooth or serrated - the answer was "smooth, so you can re-sharpen" - yet mine showed up with serrated teeth. Same with yours? Just curious... Steve

I have several nice FEL attached implements...but my favorite HAS to be my snowblower. Its powered by a 3 point attached 25 gallon hydraulic tank hooked up to a 3,000 PSI, 15 GPM pto powered pump. I hope to add the loader mounted post hole digger some day.

I have a front three-point adapter and use my carryall on the loader all the time. I find it to be very convenient to just go grab it with the loader when I need to move something and not have to drop the rear mower. A loader mounted trailer hitch is also very handy.
