FAQ's and Pinned Links

I participate on other forums for various vehicles that I own and maintain and many of those forums try to maintain some FAQ's and Quick Links to posts that have universal value to members.

An example is this valuable post 370D Beaver Parts Cross Reference. Pinning these sort of posts to the top of the appropriate forum help each of us find them easily as they ultimately get lost in the string of on-going threads as time progresses. A new person would have no idea if the post exists and if they don't use the proper search they may never find it and then the inevitable question is posted that has already been addressed at least once in the the past.

Any thoughts...? Agree/Disagree/I'm full of hot air and just causing problems/other?

I have seen that on buggies gone wild for golf carts. It is helpful.

It is a good idea, and improves ease of access for newcomers. However, I have noticed sometimes the tangential conversations bring up information more useful than the original question. I think, at least, it is a good idea to start a compendium of cross reference parts known to fit and so forth. Sometimes things don't work out as desired, and sometimes they do. It is hard to know, since the one time users who read the sticky and never post don't show up.

I think we should at least start a list, then everything is in one thread. Once it has enough breadth and depth, we could request a moderator to make it a sticky. On my ST1440 and D1800 there is very little information at all, so I had to match the service parts based on experience, guess, and extrapolation. Fortunately, it seems like most parts are fairly generic, and work for a variety of machines and makers.
