Which One do you want to know about?
After several requests for an EA Cutter, the first one is nearing completion. Designed for small compact/subcompact tractors, it features a 44" cutting width and limited Category 1 hitch.
We have all the necessary components in house and are currently designing models up to a 72" HD Cutter.

Looks like what I need for my B7610.

Quality workmanship as always I see! What kind of tail wheel setup? A washer and pin or a heavy duty collar? Are you going to beef up the larger models with cross bracing?

Thanks! I think the smaller models will have a washer and pin holding on a 15" laminated tailwheel, but i'm not sure about the larger models.

Knowing Ted, I am sure the larger HD models will be beefed up considerably!!

Our first rotary cutter is ready for the photo shoot and video now. Here are some pics from my cell phone.

The pictured cutter is the first one that we've cut/welded together, so there are some small changes to be made.
The front shield will be cut and/or bent some(and probably removed by customers for full height cutting) and the rear shield also needs to be tweaked.

Our first rotary cutter will be going to "Humpy" Wheeler, the past President & GM of NASCAR's Charlotte Motor Speedway and the most decorated promoter in NASCAR!

That shield wouldn't last too long around here, that's for sure. I like chains, but it's a dirty deal on an OROPS tractor. It sure would be nice if someone came up with an easily changed out chain or rubber shield option that could be ordered either way...hint, hint.

TRAVIS: Where will gear boxes be sourced, U.S.A. or imported? What about blades?

A piece of flat stock and a piece of rubber on that mower would probbaly fit the bill...

The tail wheel appears to have a bolt/nut in the pin hole that will round off quickly during use. Suggest you replace the bolt/nut with a hitch pin or similar that will ride smoothly on the washer.

Most mfgs use a cotter pin or lynch pin.

I'll show all the comments/questions to Ted when he rolls thru and get some replies for you. They made the video this morning, so i'll post that when it's complete.

Personally I would rather have the bolt, much less likely to loose it than a lynch pin especially if backing into weeds and vines. Since the bolt is only subject to wear when the bush hog is raised so the tail wheel is off the ground, there would be very little wear on the bolt head and since the only time you ever need to remove the bolt is to replace the tail wheel, why worry about the head rounding off, just cut it with a grinder and put in a new one with the new tail wheel.

I've been using a #12 cotter pin in my tail wheel for the past year+ and it seems to hold real well. Had to hammer the pin into the hole but the arc in the cotter pin curved section grips the side of the tail wheel post very tightly and provides more flat surface for the washer to ride against. I don't cut a lot of weeds/vines or heavy growth but it would take quite a tug to pull the cotter pin.

Unfortunately, the gear boxes are from china, the same source that every other manufacturer uses. It may be possible to get a domestic gearbox, but the price would be way out of line.

Ted wasn't sure about the blades, but Nate told me yesterday that they had Italy on them....I'll verify with my own eyes when i get a chance.

Cold rolled steel pin is in mine and holds just fine.

Pretty nice.
I think the corners of the rear guard should be chamfered to avoid catching things, or just make the depth of the guard match the adjoining side.

Thanks!
The cutter in the photos and in the video is the first prototype that we've made. The guard and a few other things will be changed before we ship any out.
Ted talks about the changes that will be made in the video.
