I think there are a few folks here that understand what I trying to explain, and I guess it just flies over the heads of really smart people here.
I do understand. Not what specific wires you need to change but what you need to do to fix the problem. Cut the entire trailer plug off, ignore the colors of the wires and wire up a new plug that matches the outlet on your pickup. You may find things that need fixed while you're doing that (poor ground connections are likely, for example).

Yes. This is what I have been saying too.

Cut the plug off. You only have 6 or maybe 7 wires.

Identify which one is ground....pretty easy.

Now one at a time, put 12v to the other wires and see what they do. Make a note and wire up a new 7-way
