Tires draining fluid from tires

I'll be hauling a tractor, TO-20, a 1000 mi soon. I desided to drain the fuid from the rear tires to reduce weight. Any tricks?

I planned to remove the fill tube center and leter drain. now that will leve some but, close enough.

Reach around from the front or rear of the wheel. Don't stand in front of the valve! You have the rest figured out.

I thought I might do it my heated garage. So I was thinking of using the filler tube a "fix-a-flat". The end has the screw/center point. Then run the tube to buckets. By leaving the center part of the fill valve in place, I could stop every so often to run up the presure with air.
